No it's not all down to covid but you also have to remember everyone's financial situation in life is different as well, some people might only be able to pay for a match day ticket every so often but it makes them no less of a fan. We have also sold around 800 season tickets so 530 pledges in my eyes is good, some of those fans will be going out on a limb paying for those season tickets and they have my full respect, lets be grateful for the added income and what we get.

It’s a good total to be fair and I’m sure over the next two weeks we’ll reach the 100k. We have to appreciate, as I’m sure the club does, that there’s not many clubs that appeal to the fans for financial support and hit their target every time, like ours does. We have a small fan base who back the club consistently, Also you have to take into account that this appeal came at the same time as the appeal to buy season tickets.

Yeah agree with the above couple of posts - I think most of this years are just auto-renewals from last aren’t they? Obviously some drop offs compared to last summer but still a big chunk of support when you consider the number of season tickets sold too. I haven’t done this BTB before, I opted instead to fund our unsuccessful playoff campaign the season before last and purchase four season tickets for last season - also this summer have purchased four season tickets for the upcoming season. Everyone’s in a different position.

Raising 90k is an amazing effort.

I have a DD go out every month but I never see any results and the last time I heard we were looking at combining it with other clubs’ lotteries.

The problem with season ticket sales data in relation to funds raised, is that there will be many of the 800 claimed which have in effect brought zero income into the club, because Under 12s are free but presumably still count in the total. I’ve ‘bought’ 3 tickets, but one was significantly reduced and one was free, so in reality I’ve only paid for 1 and a bit. I feel a bit of a fraud saying I’ve bought three, so at least an investment in the Boost the Budget makes up some of the the shortfall. Good to see we’re nearing 100k.

Its great you can help either by signing up for Boost the Budget or buying seasons tickets or doing the seals lottery.
I was down the ground the other day and noticed it could do with some maintenance on it. The Fire Exit doors look like they need replacing, the turnstyle doors need relplacing, the main reception door could do with being replaced. But this comes at a cost. Is this something the fans would want to contribute to?

That’d be the sort of thing I’d hope we could link with a maintenance company in exchange for discounted programme/stadium advertising or something.

Only about £3-4K donated in the last week then, but hopefully the final week will see a big push. Is anyone waiting until they get paid at the end of the month to make a donation? Asking for a friend.

Excellent effort. If you still have any cash left over, don't forget the Deva Chat Player Sponsorship fund, which ends in the next couple of days. We already have enough to sponsor a player but it would be good if we can get the groundsman at least £100 on top of that. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/deva-chat-player-sponsorship-2

From CFC OWS -
BOOST THE BUDGET | A message of thanks from the Board of Chester FC
Your achievement in this year’s Boost The Budget campaign further demonstrates what makes Chester FC such a unique and special football club.
In setting the ambitious target of raising £100,000 for this season’s first-team budget, the Board was very aware of how significant a contribution our incredible fans make year after year to support the club.
This has been especially true over the course of the past 18 months as we have faced up to the challenges of the pandemic and two interrupted campaigns.
The support you have given has ensured we have been able to navigate through these challenges and remain financially stable, although the ongoing uncertainty creates difficult conditions for football clubs.
Like you, we want our club to be successful on the pitch and Boost The Budget is central to this ambition.
Your pledges and donations provide the Board and the managers with greater confidence when planning for the season, helping us retain and attract players who we believe will give us the best possible chance of being competitive.
As football fans we know nothing can be guaranteed, but Boost The Budget is an opportunity for us as supporters to contribute directly to what happens on the pitch and hopefully make the difference in what is a hugely tough division.
The collective efforts of everyone who contributed to Boost The Budget for 2021/22 should not be underestimated in what remain very challenging times for many.
We received a high volume of pledges and donations on Friday as this year’s campaign approached the finishing line and hope to be able to announce the final total raised on Tuesday.
You can of course make one-off contributions or set up pledges during the season if you wish to do so, but for now we would like to reiterate our thanks and appreciation once more for Boosting The Budget.
Up the Seals.

The tier 3 rewards for Boost the Budget have been sent out via email today.
Options are attending a training session with the first team manager after the end of the season, or a great looking Ben Heneghan tee shirt.
Gone for the shirt, the days of training sessions are well, well behind me.

I've no problems with you being here, but can you a) learn how to use the quote function and b) not get involved in threads if you have nothing useful or interesting to say? We're actually quite proud that we've managed to do this ourselves. I know that's an alien concept to you lot - who we can now call any one of the Goats, the Tories or the Sellouts.

Thanks for reminding me numbnuts that I need to increase my contribution for next season. We Chester fans keep the club going off our own backs rather than sell out to some clown who is paying you mugs lip service and will bail out very soon leaving you in an unmanageable debt.
