Just received this email from the Club I appreciate that times may be difficult for some, but, for those who can, it's another chance to improve our chances next season.
Dear Supporter
Just over 12 months ago, we launched the most ambitious fundraiser in Chester FC's history.
Boost the Budget aimed to raise £100k for the first team playing budget to give our club the best possible chance of being competitive during the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic. Not only did you help us smash that target in stunning fashion, raising over £115k, but Bern and Jonno assembled a dynamic, exciting team that was challenging for promotion before the season was curtailed.
We want to say thank you for your support last season and to ask for your help in ensuring we can build on that promise in 2021/22.
Boost the Budget 2 will launch on 21st May and our ambition remains the same: to secure promotion from the National League North.
We want to better last season's target and have been working hard behind the scenes on exciting new prizes and experiences that will reward you for your magnificent support.
As an existing contributor, we wanted to let you know first that by backing Boost the Budget 2 you will not only access new rewards, but also be automatically entered into an additional prize draw for a free season ticket as an extra thanks for maintaining or increasing your contribution so long as you renew by Friday 18th June.
You currently contribute via PayPal and if you'd like to continue doing so, please email boost@chesterfc.com and let us know your chosen tier and payment method to enable us to make sure everything is up to date. Alternatively you can sign up via Direct Debit using the below links as this gives the club the best return on your donation.
MONTHLY DONATION £5
MONTHLY DONATION £10
MONTHLY DONATION £20
MONTHLY DONATION £50
MONTHLY DONATION £100
This is also a final reminder that if you signed up to Tier 3, 4 or 5 last season, you are entitled to a squad photo or engraved brick. Please let us know via email what your preference is if you haven’t already. Once Covid restrictions ease we will organise the squad photos and if you haven’t yet sent your message for the brick, please email boost@chesterfc.com.
If you have any questions about Boost the Budget or need any help setting up your contribution, email boost@chesterfc.com and we'll be happy to help.
Thank you again for all your support and COYB!

Just emailed to ask them to continue claiming my DD. Its not a lot but every little helps. I’ve done the same, although the email took a bit of finding as it landed in my Junk folder. Probably because the sender was ‘BOOST’ and not Chester FC.

Me too.
Let's hope everyone does the same. Assuming they can afford to.

Probably because the sender was ‘BOOST’ and not Chester FC. Me too! Start with the same amount and see how things go. If there is anything left, or an appeal for something specific, then hopefully can support that too. It's starting to get exciting again!!

Just replied to the email saying I wanted to continue the direct debit, very simple. Hopefully by the time it launches on 21st May we should have a good amount already.

So pleasing that after the effort of last summer we genuinely did see its impact in a quality side giving its all. And don’t forget, most of the squad signed up to BTB too.
I’ll be requesting my DD to continue.

Hi all, I just wanted to say a massive thankyou from the fundraising team and the board for the initial response, the generosity of our fans never ceases to amaze me, especially in the current economic climate.

We could... but who is able to pay £1,500 a month to the club, realistically?
For example that’s half our household income.

I wasn’t sure which he meant but it’s a monthly direct debit so guessed at £1,500 a month.
Anyway, I didn’t do this last summer - opted to fund our ultimately unsuccessful promotion play-off assault, but will be contributing this time as well as purchasing a season ticket providing we get the all clear for those.

Looks like 200 contributors have cancelled their DDs since the original setup. I’m sure the club factored in this possibility.

Maybe they just haven’t renewed yet hopefully. Let’s hope we can hit the target fairly quickly, although I think it might be a mistake putting a £100k figure as a target because once you reach that figure the campaign could lose momentum.

Do we actually know the breakdown from last year in terms of numbers of DDs and one off donations and the gross value of both types?

Looks like 200 contributors have cancelled their DDs since the original setup. I’m sure the club factored in this possibility. There are several ways to make monthly pledges: DD, PayPal recurring and standing orders. Direct Debit is the easiest method and as these are continious (until cancelled) this is the figure reflected in the current total, so hopefully those contributors who pledge via one of the other methods will also renew for 2021/22 and keep us ticking over. You can also make a one-off donation too of course. A brilliant start and the more we can raise, the more flexibility the managers will have in bringing in new players to help us push on.

Do the Direct Debits not just carry on until we cancel them?
I haven't had an email and presumed I didn't need to do anything to continue my payment.

Most probably been answered before but if I don't cancel my DD from last season it will just carry on in to this year's scheme ?

I think you might have to email boost@chesterfc.com . I pay by Direct Debit and got an email asking me to confirm that I wanted it to continue.
