It's a strange sort of superiority that some supporters get by having someone with no connection to their club, pumping money in, and they ride on that ego trip. It seems to make them feel better about themselves. Cornerflag being a prize example.
We are jealous about the journey you may be going on. If that journey makes you lose respect for other clubs and their supporters, that is a sad reflection on you.
Just think how bad failure may taste now, given your expectations. Another year or two in the NL would be failure given the money being pumped in. Its a sort of financial bullying, and ruins the integrity of the league.
Back on subject........T-Shirt for me too! Not sure I'd survive a training session these days. Maybe I could nominate Cornerflag for the training session!

From CFC OWS - BOOST THE BUDGET | A message of thanks from the Board of Chester FC Your achievement in this year’s Boost The Budget campaign further demonstrates what makes Chester FC such a unique and special football club. In setting the ambitious target of raising £100,000 for this season’s first-team budget, the Board was very aware of how significant a contribution our incredible fans make year after year to support the club. This has been especially true over the course of the past 18 months as we have faced up to the challenges of the pandemic and two interrupted campaigns. The support you have given has ensured we have been able to navigate through these challenges and remain financially stable, although the ongoing uncertainty creates difficult conditions for football clubs. Like you, we want our club to be successful on the pitch and Boost The Budget is central to this ambition. Your pledges and donations provide the Board and the managers with greater confidence when planning for the season, helping us retain and attract players who we believe will give us the best possible chance of being competitive. As football fans we know nothing can be guaranteed, but Boost The Budget is an opportunity for us as supporters to contribute directly to what happens on the pitch and hopefully make the difference in what is a hugely tough division. The collective efforts of everyone who contributed to Boost The Budget for 2021/22 should not be underestimated in what remain very challenging times for many. We received a high volume of pledges and donations on Friday as this year’s campaign approached the finishing line and hope to be able to announce the final total raised on Tuesday. You can of course make one-off contributions or set up pledges during the season if you wish to do so, but for now we would like to reiterate our thanks and appreciation once more for Boosting The Budget. Up the Seals.Scratching arround in the dirt I fear , you need some serious finance, where it comes from god only knows . For you to be so continually preoccupied with our club so much so that it obviously intrudes on your mind. The thought of bottling the playoffs is clearly getting to you!

For quite a few seasons most of us have said what you are saying regarding being jealous of the likes of Salford, Forest Green , Fleetwood etc but look where they are today . I have not lost respect for other clubs ( never had much for Chester FC anyway ) its more a realisation that Wrexham AFC are on an exciting road to hopefully a better future . You all keep on going on about it not being sustainable but providing the sucess continues the cash will keep rolling in and sponsors are still falling over themselves to get a bite of the action. Failure may come but all I was trying to say previously is that continuing on season by season scraping around for money to keep your club going no where but if its the only option fair enough and seriously I think the people who do this work are teriffic and true supporters . Financial bullying ? or is it just reality and the only way forward to gain sucess ?
Training session at my age !!!! yes you are right it would kill me !!!! ha

Don't disagree with most of that. I actually think your more likely to cope long term with all this, than most clubs. Assuming you get success quickly. Enjoy your journey, as much as we will any failures. Salford did financial bullying. Upwards of £20m to get into L2 just blows everyone out of the water. Bit like Wrexham seem to be doing, along with Stockport. It's a sad reality, and probably the only way to get success, unless you're very lucky. It's more difficult to do once you're in L2.

Let's face it the 'Boost the Budget' campaign this year is going to be a struggle, given all the extra outgoings many families are facing. I know the club usually start the fund raising campaign during the Summer but do we need to start it before the end of the season so the fund raising period is longer, the money hopefully comes in sooner so giving the manager a chance to spend some of it over the Summer and we are trying to raise money when people are still attending matches rather than when everyone is either on holiday or trying to occupy screaming kids for seven weeks.
Also I think it might be an idea to try something similar to when we raised money during the Steve Burr years, when you got a certain reward according to how much you donated, rather than just a please give us some money approach.

This already happens. There's a tiered reward system that you get things like pin badges and t-shirts from. At the top tier it's a meal with the manager.

I got a brick, a badge and a tee shirt for my donations this year? I could have trained with the first team, or if I could afford a bit more money had a meal with the manager. If I could afford to do so I could have sponsored a players shirt and been given this personally from the player at the end of the season. Loads at this club that we can moan about and look to improve but in my opinion the Boost the Budget was done really well. I agree though that I would be promoting it again quickly this time round.

All valid points about Boost the Budget for this Summer. At the club we're focusing on commercial opportunities before we go out to the fans again for BtB. In terms of a longer time period to donate, I was speaking to Darlington about their scheme and they actually have a much shorter donation period and they found it more successful then a longer drawn out one. It's something the Fundraising team need to look at. We're having a meeting at the start of May to discuss the scheme for next season, so if anyone wants to get involved let me know.
Ironically I think the Steve Burr had a dream fundraiser barely actually made any money as fulfilling all the prizes took up most of the donations so there has to be a balance behind the scenes. I think the tiers and prizes this year has been well received based off the feedback I've received from lots of pledgers.
Everyone at the club is incredibly aware of the cost of Living crisis and we are incredibly grateful to fans for donating to the scheme but we might scale back the target slightly this year to reflect the challenges we're all facing (Sadly a lot of our costs as a club are increasing as everyone's are)
We're also trying to get the Seals Lottery working with an online sign up option so if fans are not able to contribute to Boost the Budget they may be able to contribute to that scheme as it gives fans a good chance of making some money back. If anyone wants a sign up form in the interim please just email me at adam.langan@chesterfc.com

It’s a fact that money is the route to success. Thinking about how money helps look at it a slightly different way. In F1 Ferrari, Red bull, Mercedes are all on a massive budget which is why they are usually on the podium. Now look at Williams F1 tiny budget compared to the top teams and they struggle to get a top 10 finish. That’s US in football terms, the more money, fans, sponsors, investment you have your chances of success increase accordingly. I hate it when goat fans come on taking the piss because we pass the hat around every season to put some sort of team onto the pitch but at the moment that’s all we can do really because we have not got a pot to piss in
