Irrespective of budgets 3 Championships has never been done before and never done since and many have tried with much bigger budgets than we had. When Young's team came into this league they were proper part time with players and staff working during the day and training at night. He knew what the club was about and respected what it was about For the record I don't think we should reappoint Young either

That wage thief of a manager stood in front of me with his hands in his pockets, occasionally muttering towards the spectators and repeatedly looking at his phone! He did nothing for his team except to keep telling Aki to get further back. Further back at home when we're losing!! Is it me?? It was noticeable how, when there was a break in play, several players walked past him, without even looking at him, towards the invisible man (Iwelumo) to get a drink and talk to him. The deluded one has definitely lost the dressing room, but sadly not the Board. The difference between him and the Boredom Wood management team was vast, like chalk and cheese. I've been watching for 60 years, but no more till he has gone, which I fear will not be for another two years.

Neil Young is not up to managing at this level

I spoke to Young today at the game and he said he had no intention of Managing again and was enjoying just watching games now when he wanted. He did say he would help our Club in anyway he can if ever needed.

Yesterday was just about capped by that smug git Alan Alger bragging away on Twitter about how close he came with his pre-season prediction that Chester would be relegated. This same super tipster had Wrexham down to make the play-offs and Woking and York to just miss out on them!

One of the worrying things for me yesterday was the complete lack of interest from the fans(myself included) whilst the match is going on, as much as I don't condone shouting abuse at the players/management the lack of any real venting from the stands spoke volumes im afraid. I honestly can't think of another season in my 27 years of watching us where there's such apathy from our support. Quite how we can get the feel good factor back I don't know, but as has already been said season ticket sales are going to be awful whilst this management team and majority of players are re-signed for next season.

What amuses me was the fact that 43.33% of the poll thought we'd win ~ SERIOUS DELUSION.

One thing I noticed yesterday (again)is that our midfield must be the worst in the Conference leagues. Ryan Lloyd is nowhere near Conference standard and will probably be at Kidsgrove next season. Durrell is just plain awful and Davies is not ready for this level. Not going to bother commenting on Luke George.

I didn't renew my CFU membership this season. I'd become disillusioned with being told I 'owned' the club. The appointment of Tony Allen stank and shouldn't have happened. The fans are completely hamstrung when it comes to sorting out the current mess. One decision, to extend the manager's contract, has put the future of the club in serious jeopardy. What can I do except withdraw my support. I don't want to do that, but I'm not into self-flagellation, which is what supporting this team amounts to. How much power does MM have? The board seem unable to act in the best interests of the club. The 200 or so fans that didn't come to home matches this season were already convinced that last season's decline had more to do with JM than SB. I hope something major happens over the coming weeks and months because the same old same old is not an option for me.

0-1 down and sounds bit harsh Spawny goal but not harsh really. Two poor sides but they've been marginally the better. Marginally better? We're we watching the same game, thought B/Wood controllled it right from the start some good chances. As for us 1 attempt by Hunt in the first half, second half not much better as soon as they scored the 2nd I left to go the pub, absolute dire performance yet again.

I probably was being a bit kind by saying 'marginally'. Boreham Wood weren't particularly good though. Even with the time and space we were affording them, they were still misplacing a lot of passes. I've rarely seen us so completely schooled by such an ordinary side, especially at home.

Nearly 30 hours after the game, and this Match Thread is not even up to 4 full pages despite all that's going on!!
I think this maybe shows that people have just been worn down to the point of exhaustion by yet another dreadful performance and, more importantly, not even a hint of anything happening to address the problems.
I'm not sure that apathy is the correct word although it is certainly present throughout the club - it's almost a feeling of resignation that we're stuck with what we've got and that no amount of criticism or comment is likely to change things or even influence matters.
Personally, I feel rather numb and deflated and, to be frank, I'm quite relieved that the season is over so I can sympathise totally with people thinking twice about attending and/or renewing season tickets.
Of course I'll be there next season but my confidence that I'll be watching a competent or competitive team as well as being entertained on occasions is rapidly waning.
The close season is a chance to recharge my "footy batteries".
The close season is the chance for the club to get a grip of the situation, however that is done, because I genuinely believe it's crunch time for our future
I live in hope!

Goals from our game at 10:40, plus more from McCarthy about "doing enough" and not being York.
Some observations from the programme:
1. Forest Green faff about with it at the back far too much. They won't go up. 2. Why the hell is Ricky Miller still playing in this division? 3. Southport's cameraman makes me feel sick. Is he filming from a boat? 4. Guiseley and Torquay had seasons as miserable as ours, but with scenes of jubilation at the end. For all the seasons of struggle I've known at Chester, I've never seen us pull off a last day survival story. And no, yesterday doesn't count as we were all but safe anyway and still made a total hash of it.

Let's face it, there's no way we can possibly defend that shambles on Saturday. It was shite yet again. I was more bothered by the fact the bar was shut during the second half. Shame as we would have made a killing in bar takings with lads drowning their sorrows in there. Would have been a better atmosphere as well!
Highlight was the halftime announcement for fans to stay off the pitch so the players could take our applause - bit of a laugh that. Only thing they deserved (bar Alabi, Shaw, and Sam Hughes) was abuse. Loved how Macca popped his head up to give the fans a round of applause to then get roundly booed and shouted at to 'resign' by a fed up main stand.
Apart from that like I say, absolutely nothing to shout about whatsoever. Massive changes needed in personnel in the summer squad is nowhere near good enough.
Next season I'm undecided on how often I will attend, with other stuff going on at the mo anyway and then with just how unbelievably shite we've been. It's now actually been a calendar year since I last saw us win a game!! (Welling at home)
