Hartlepool played well to win that game today and if they'd performed like that all season I doubt they'd have gone down, but they've had a poor run of form before today and losing to Leyton Orient a couple of weeks back was the real killer for them. On today's evidence if they have the right manager in place and things are ok off the field they could do reasonably well next season with the parachute money.

Not play-off related but Hartlepool have been relegated. I feel sorry for them, but I'm looking forward to going to Victoria Park next season. Rather that than Rodney Parade. That's very kind words. I am devastated after today and I'm sure everyone else is, however we will bounce back stronger next season. I've never visited the Deva Stadium but it looks like a lovely stadium, similar to ours. All the best next season, and I'm looking forward to visiting Chester. Poolie.

Worst possible scenario for us I really would like to have Tranmere with us next year but Gumps do not deserve to be in the football league just over 3000 for a play off semi final what a load of sh1te so hopefully a proper club will be returned to the league and another year of millions wasted for that wanker Vince

Play off finals
Tranmere vs Forest Green - Really hope FGR win as we cannot afford to lose our derby fixture, and always lose to the village hobby club
Halifax vs Chorley - Hope Fax come back up, proper ex FL club
Ebbsfleet vs Chelmsford City - Hope Chelmsford win this, again a proper club, not yet bankrolled tho' supposed to be selling out to the owner of the local racecourse. Bit like Maidstone, based in a decent sized but posh southern city. Only negative, I believe they have an athletic track round the pitch.

I hope Forest Green, FC Halifax and Chelmsford come up. Forest Green because I would like to keep the Tranmere derby. But, they'll probably only take 14,000 like they did last year which is an embarrassing following. Halifax because they have a nice ground. I was on my way to The Shay in the FA Trophy last season but it got called off when I was 2 miles away from the ground, so it would be nice to actually go there. Victory Park doesn't look very pleasant; the shay is leagues ahead. Also worth noting that Matty Brown scored the winning penalty. I would like Chelmsford to come up as Ebbsfleet are just buying their way to success each year and to see them fail again would make it frustrating for them.

Sounds very bitter. I might have to alter my post a bit.

How is taking 14,000 to Wembley for Forest Green embarrassing?...very much doubt Chester would take as many should they ever get to Wembley which is highly unlikely.

I didn't realise I put 14,000 because I don't proof read my posts. Also, it is quite easy to make that mistake. I was going to say, 14,000 is a good following for a non-league Wembley final. Anyway, it was meant to say 4,000 as they took 4,000 last year against Grimsby which is terrible and I wouldn't be surprised if they take that amount again.

Why is it highly unlikely we will ever play at Wembley? Does feel like an endless wait for us to get there but if the likes of Halifax and York can get to Wembley in the FA Trophy while fighting relegation there's no reason why we couldn't one season (not that that's maybe a good omen given they both went down!).

C'mon FGR. Two games against Tranmere is much better than two inevitable defeats against the village team.
I must be in the minority and want Chorley to come up. They will occupy a relegation spot for certain thus meaning that there is only three left to occupy next season. Also they may take a big following to Chester for their cup final and swell the coffers.

Can't see tranmere messing this up, and a club with the name "forest green" don't even deserve to be a league club.

Honestly? How man would we take? We can't get 4000 to watch us at home, such is the reluctance of the people of the city to follow this team. I think that a team like Forest Green to take 4000 to Wembley is a decent effort, Nailsworth is a tiny dot of a place, not much bigger than Hanbridge.

I think should we ever make the FA trophy final, we would take 8-10,000 fans. We saw with the reformation of the club how many people like to jump on a bandwagon. Wouldn't be surprised at all if a load did if we ever made wembley!

The problem in Chester, and it's always been that way, is that people jump off the bandwagon as fast as they jump off and tend to knock some other folks off with them. In 1974 we had 19,000 for the league cup, games and no more than 4,000 for league games.

VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE PROMOTION FINAL Latest Ticket Update: as of 10am this morning @fgrfc_Official 2,000 @ tranmererovers 10,500A few days ago but, you'd expect TRFC to sell at least 25,000..the way their fans brag on social media. 2 seasons ago. "We're gonna pizz dis League like". "Tinpot" etc I think the Chester and Wrexham fans acknowledge TRFC have a great squad. Just look at the players they can keep on the bench? I also think.... that both sets of supporters would also like to wish FGR the best of luck. I'd just love it if Tranmere fluff it up. I'd just love it.

My view is its a special match and at Wembley. A day they will remember for years (especially the winners) so price is to be justified.
As to who I would wish to see win...FRG in that I live an hour away so I can see them next season again. However I am sure Chester based Chester fans want Tranmere to lose for the same reason. On paper Tranmere should win. They are better...but one off game etc. For FGR how long can chairman take NOT going up? Plans for new ground and extensuion of fan base-hard to achieve if you don't get promoted!
