It looks like gumps now still I suppose its another good derby for us again next year just hate it that shister vince has bought his way into the league hopefully they will fail miserabley next year horrible little club Don't forget, that's how we got out of the Conference. FGR might be a 'horrible club' but I get a bit of smug satisfaction seeing Cook, Davies and Norwood missing out. True. I'm not exactly proud of how we got out of the Conference last time, but the one thing you can say is that at least once we came into some money we made short work of winning the division. How many managers and millions of pounds have FGR had to go through to buy promotion? Not exactly a fan of their model, but good news for us that they're out the division as they bring very little of any benefit to it. Feel sorry for Tranmere's decent fans as they've had a pretty crap few years, but they do have a lot of undesirable types both playing for and supporting them, so, oh well.

According to BBC Sport, the attendance was only 18,801 - very poor, I guess Wembley, only 20% full, would have felt like a morgue I think a neutral ground e.g Villa Park would've been better for everyone but of course there's the Wembley factor etc Yes very poor but dont forget the gump factor I'll bet the split was around 13000 tramps and 4000 gumps with 1000 hangers on so had the tramps been playing a properly supported team you would have been looking at around 30000 which is not bad for a conference play off final I guess you're pretty close with that split Begs the question however - which is preferable, 50-75% full Villa Park for example or 20-30% full Wembley + pros/cons re. Costs, travel, convenience etc.? Difficult one in my view - I'd love to see our club at Wembley with all that entails but also the thought of a near "full house" at a top ground also appeals

Surprised but not disappointed by that score line. Having Tranmere to play with Wrexham next year keeps the gates higher so good for us. Tranmere I expect will be strong again and contenders for promotion.
Hoping FGR find league football tough and Vince's business struggles and they defend to the depths of the Gloucestershire district leagues. Watch this space.
in the meanwhile we've got to build a team that will compete at this level at mid table and win some of these enjoyable local derbies.

League Two play offs just about to kick off . . . what a joke, 6.30 pm on a Sunday night. TV again as usual. Blackpool v Luton and Carlisle v Exeter.

With Forest Gump going up, that means the goats are the longest serving team in the conference/national league. Not bad for a massive club. 🐐

Since you got relegated from the League, we've actually set up a new club from scratch and managed to get it up to your level. Not sure I'd be gloating about that!

Well done, you must have a very good knowledge on how to win an argument, because in this case you have made us win the argument by saying something against your own club.

Carlisle's game against Exeter tonight had all the hallmarks of the early part of Keith Curle's Chester reign, ending 3-3 and being incredibly open with Carlisle scoring two goals in quick succession to level things up. Will be a big test of his managerial credentials in the away leg.

Because I can't see them getting into the championship by the next 5 years. Can't see them in the Championship, can you imagine thousands of fans from clubs like Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sunderland, Middlesbrough etc piling into tiny Nailsworth? Providing they haven't moved of course. Although Fleetwood nearly managed it this season. FGR need to be back where they belong, makes a mockery of football.

I have nothing against their plan, but i honestly can't think that they will be in the championship in the next 5 years. Playing the likes of Leeds, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Norwich etc.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility. As has been stated Fleetwood nearly achieved it this season and FGR were a bigger club when they were both on a level playing field financially. We are going to see more of this with the number of vanity projects currently up and running at the likes of Eastwood, Salford City, AFC Fylde etc. The bottleneck currently is the National league with the aforementioned clubs, together with the likes of Barrow, good sides like Aldershot and Mac and clubs coming down from the League with 2 years of parachute payments. Barring a bloody miracle we have no chance of exiting through the top end of this league.
