Decent ref today at last! Can we have her every week? Can't expect perfection but was miles the best we've had this season. She was great. Took no nonsense. Only criticism was missing most of the pushes, but they seem to all do that.

A scrappy game but that's not a surprise on that pitch, your touch has to be bang on and both teams struggled. Seemed a fairly narrow pitch too so it was very congested in the middle. A fair result in the end.

To be honest with the injuries, we have had we are doing well to be where we are. Being hard to beat goes a long way, in this league. With Hall and Weeks injured, we lack creativity and firepower. If they had played we would have won that. Defence excellent. Need to get Zak Clarke back from Linnets and play him.

Williams MOTM today. Brilliant. Wouldn't disagree but Kev Roberts not far behind. It's funny how we all see games differently. I thought Roberts was poor today and gave the ball away too easily. Matty Williams was superb, winning everything. We were toothless upfront and with Kole getting injured we need another forward.

How many Chester were there approx? I’d say just over 400 but I can easily underestimate how many we take away lol. There was a lot more than I expected though

Roberts done his job properly I’d say today in trying to win as much as he could in midfield. He got booked in first half which limited him for rest of the game but he’s a proper pro you know he won’t do anything daft and get sent off. Williams was unreal today was like prime Maldini 😂 Hall getting injured was a big miss hopefully not something too serious. All in all not a bad day hopefully we continue this unbeaten run for the next few weeks

Mixed feelings, on paper Buxton are a very good side, in reality though they aren’t. Lot’s of money, lot’s of names, but proof if ever it were needed that it doesn’t always translate in to producing a good, effective side. I’ve seen us be rubbish away long enough to appreciate a dull but solid 0-0 away from home. So while there’s a tinge of disappointment about not putting them away, I’m happy enough.
Back four were excellent, Matty Williams in particular. He was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. Hate him, but Newton was probably second. Honourable shout to Morgan, thrown in out of nowhere and our next best in my opinion.
Strange one with Kev Roberts, I’ve listened to contrasting opinions all day. For me he was miles off his best but played his heart out and battled hard on a surface that he appeared to absolutely detest. Probably a wise move not to put Kenyon out there on it.
One cracking save from Tyrer & Lynch very good when he came on to round up.
Baby steps, we’re clearly improving but we’re just all desperate to slam our foot on the accelerator.

Williams MOTM today. Brilliant. Wouldn't disagree but Kev Roberts not far behind. Really? Thought he struggled big time. Gave the ball away loads of times, he always puts a shift in but wasn’t his best day I thought. Joe Lynch really good when he came on, got to start Tuesday. Hate the bastard but Newton took the piss, 2 big lumps for centre backs they’ve got. Decent point, even better if we get 3 at Chorley on Tuesday.

Spot on this 👆 Thought Sargent and Hardy would come back to bite us - glad they didn‘t even though Hardy had a good cameo. Lynch should start next week. Thought McHugh struggled again today - NLN is still a bit more physical than he’s used to I think. I think a neutral would say it was a fair result but I can’t help feeling it was 2 points lost rather than 1 gained.

Does anybody know how Clarke is playing at Runcorn because he would be useful to have back in the squad with Hall injured .However he could be cup tied and unable to play against Hanley.

I take it he was injured early season. MOM against Skelmersdale and scored v Workington, in the last 2 games. In Hall's absence, I would be getting him back.

Achilles problem, struggled to make an impression before the injury but has come back from it firing on all cylinders. Will be cup tied for FA cup and FA trophy though I think.

I was going to write a match report of my own but there’s no need after seeing this - agree with every single word. Only thing I’ll add is that their artificial pitch had to be one of the worst I’ve ever seen and a major factor as to why both teams defended far better than they attacked; the ball was bobbling horrendously throughout the game, to such an extent that I’m surprised the surface has been deemed acceptable to play on even at this level. Factor in the conditions as well, with the ground located at the top of a steep hill and at the mercy of a swirling wind, and it’s no surprise that the game ended goalless.

You say that but every other Buxton home game has seen at least 1 goal. We were toothless that's the bottom line.

Stephenson and Dudley are not really firing, but in fairness injuries to Hall and Weeks has also limited our attacking threat. If both of them had played we would have won. I would be giving Zak Clarke a go, if only to get the ball to stick up top better.

Yes, and watering it was a strange thing too? Hateful shite surfaces, not conducive to either side playing football. Wouldn't be surprised if it contributed to Halls injury either.

Another way to look at it is that a number of those players weren't there at the beginning of the season and have not recruited because of injuries. This is a stronger Buxton team than started the season.

Would fancy a bet their wage bill is a lot higher than ours. We've never exactly been "full-time professionals" since reforming I don't think.
