Well, here we go again Blues. Wih the Nash visiting tomorrow, how will this one go? We have only beaten them once at home in 5 attempts, despite winning at the Tameside Stadium 3 times in recent seasons.
Chester will be without Dec Weeks after his red card last week, but otherwise will have a strong squad. Curzon will be buoyed by their come from behind win against Buxton last week and possibly have a new addition to the squad in highly rated Hayden Campbell formerly of Marine.
Calum reckons we will be a bit braver at home and hopefully that means more attacking, so I am going for a 4-2 win with 2,200 in attendance. COYBs.

Very likely this will be a tight low scoring affair. Curzon have only let 2 more goals than us, and have a -3 goal difference. Forecast looks windy tomorrow, which might disrupt the game.
Hopefully we'll nick it. Might be 1-0 or 1-1. Crowd size will be interesting. Curzon won't bring many and a biting cold wind. Anything around 2200 would be really good. Given all that it will probably be a 5-2 scoreline now.

I'm going for a 2-1 win with Kurt scoring both ours. 2130 there with the 30 coming from Curzon.

Wouldn’t say it’s a MUST win, but it’s a pretty big game to get 3 points and back on track after 3 from 3.
2,246 in with 45 from Curzon.
I’ll go 2-0 with Devine and Kurt.

Think this could be the game where we see whether or not we have what it takes to go for the title, or at least the top three for the playoff advantage. We have to start turning home draws into wins and improve the mid-table home form (12th place in the Home table compared to second in the Away).
There’s been a lot of big talk from the gaffer this week about being more adventurous at home so there may be a little bit of pressure on the players. To be fair we went all out in the first ten minutes against Telford but semeed to revert back to type when we hadn’t scored by that point and ended up scraping another draw.
Hope to see the Harry Mac rocking as usual, the Cestrians 1885 lads are unreal (some cracking offers on their online shop by the way) and I know the Deva will be getting behind the players and doing their part to try to improve the home results.
Down to 2,200-ish I reckon given the festive Bank Hol is over, the weather doesn’t look great and Curzon will have a minibus worth of travelling support. They’re a bit of a bogey side too - don’t think we’ve ever beaten them at our place - but Cal and these lads have broken many a hoodoo so far this season so why not another?
1-0 Willoughby penalty. Job done.

A fair few ex-Blues returning to the Deva tomorrow too - they’ve got Tom Peers, Craig Mahon and George Waring on the pitch and Alex ‘30-yard belter’ Brown in the dugout.
Craig Hobson left the club today though to sign for next door neighbours Ashton United.

Our home form isn’t quite there yet and while this is a good chance to turn it around I just don’t see it happening. 1-1. 2439 in attendance

It was a good point for us down in Brackley last Saturday, however we need to be picking up maximum points in this home doubleheader to make up for those two embarrassing draws against AFC Telford United. Teams like Telford, Gloucester City, and Leamington have sussed us out at home by frustrating us as much as possible, although Calum McIntyre seems very confident that our approach to games at the Deva will change from now on. Calum knows what he’s doing, so hopefully our players will start on the front foot this afternoon to put on an entertaining show. It won’t be an easy game though as Curzon Ashton have gotten the better of us at our place far too many times in recent seasons, while they have some talented players in their squad such as Josh Hancock, Sam Walker, and Ryan Hall. Former Seals Tom Peers and Craig Mahon will be really up for it as well, so it won’t be a cakewalk for sure. However, looking at where we are compared to Curzon in the table we have to win this one if we want to keep the pressure on the top three. Darlington and Brackley Town aren’t in league action today, so we have a great chance to close the gap on those two. I reckon we’ll win by a couple of goals in front of another healthy attendance to get our home form back on track. Up The Seals!
Score - Chester FC (Willoughby, Williams) 2-0 Curzon Ashton.
Attendance - 2,257 (39 Curzon Ashton).

Peers had plenty of opportunity and showed very little for us. Done well to carve out a career for himself. Mahon left at the right time. We go over this every season.
