Reading today’s news about the stadium redevelopment plans, I must say I am envious. Fair play it looks as if the Hollywood mob are properly invested in this “project” (hate that term). Only issue of course is, who owns the land/stadium. Remember Gutterman and Hamilton? Fair play to you for being honest - not easy when it's your local rivals.
Luckily R&R are not the scum I can't even bring myself to mention - I honestly believe R&R are genuine.
I sincerely hope something similar happens to Chester (don't tell some on here I said that though).....imagine the derby matches if we were both back in the FL!

I do think it’s crucial the council in our case and the University in your case continue to own the ground/land though - for insurance purposes (safeguarding) more than anything.
Of course it all seems rosy now in the honeymoon period but both of our clubs have had more than a lifetimes share of horrific private ownership.

football teams are being bought up left right and centre from investors all around the world now, so i have absolutely have no doubt we will get some interest at some stage as the fan owned project just doesn't work, which is a shame...i think wrexham have been very lucky in getting two "proper" investors and no doubt the will start to propel forward next season .

The fan owned project worked fine for the first three years but was always going to stall a bit when we got to the National League, mainly because there's no denying you need an extra injection of cash to make the final push to get into the EFL. If you can get a decent FA cup run then you can produce this extra cash, Like Lincoln did a few seasons ago, or you can find a diamond in your younger players and make money from the sell on clause, appearance payments, etc... It would be interesting to see what our club would do if they got a sudden injection of cash from one of these sources, would we roll the dice and use the extra money to finance a real push to be promoted to the EFL, invest in the infrastructure or would we put it the bank to ensure the future of the club. You are always going to find that the supporters will be split on this subject. Some think the fan ownership model is the way forward, others think that it will result in us being a non league team forever.

From the official IMDB website...
Ryan Reynolds’ Soccer Club Subject of ‘The Vanishing’ Producers
Wrexham AFC, the Welsh soccer club recently taken over by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is to be the subject of “A League Apart,” a British romantic comedy from the producers of “The Vanishing,” starring Gerard Butler.
To be directed by S.J. Evans (“Hiraeth”), the film will follow Phil, a lovable yet down-on-his-luck man obsessed with his failing Wrexham AFC soccer team. His American girlfriend, Christina, wants more out of life and love and Phil must prove that she is more important to him than his soccer team winning.
While “A League Apart” is a work of fiction, its climax is centered around the real-life 1992 FA Cup clash between bottom of the league underdogs Wrexham and reigning Division One champions, Arsenal.
The project is in the final stages of development, with plans to begin filming in the summer of 2021.

Can laugh but to be fair they’re getting this TV deal and now a film out of it all.
Whether it translates to success on the field remains to be seen and I can imagine anybody who gains an interest in going to watch them for the first time will take one look at that shithole of a town and turn back round.
Really hope I’m wrong but the days of my childhood of 15 years playing at least one (sometimes two) league below them could be back.

You get the feeling this film could be great or terrible. If they make it gritty in a Ken Loach or Shane Meadows vein it could be worth watching, but I imagine it will be a corny rom-com they hope lads will watch with their girlfriends because "football".
The plot reminds me a little of When Saturday Comes, which I don't think is a bad film except that the football parts are poorly filmed and unrealistic. The oversight of Sheffield United playing an FA Cup semi-final at Brammall Lane sums it up!

Will this film actually put money in the club or just in the owners pocket They own all media rights but no doubt they'll put the money or most back into the Club. It'll be interesting to see their agent fee's next season. Agents will be throwing players towards them.

10 minutes to go in the last National League matches and as it stands Wrexham are outside the play offs.

Unless they score a winner in added time they're outside the playoffs.

Full time. If the BBC league table is correct, they finished one place outside the play-offs, having been comfortably placed inside them prior to KO. Their reputation for bottling it continues. The Hollywood duo must be choking on their skinny lattes.

We were just not good enough over the season. I would keep hold of that tag line to describe the decision to scrap the second TV series. Never knew there would be a second series.
However, we will enjoy the huge increase in revenue from the TV series, massive increase in front of shirt sponsorship, big increase in worldwide shirt sales (already selling worldwide by the way), etc.
Who is your sponsor next season and how much are they paying?

Two year deal with TikTok. Whilst the rumoured millions for the deal are likely to be exaggerated a tad, there’s no doubt the spins offs could well run into millions. Should certainly cover the promised new training facility.
