I get that Wrexham fans are enjoying the new-found global attention and I also appreciate it’s impossible to say anything as a Chester fan about it without being accused of jealousy, but I can’t help wondering how long the novelty will last before they grow a little tired of people jumping on the bandwagon who have no previous links to the club or area. At the moment having a load of new fans following the club may not seem an issue to the hardcore fanbase, but I’m not so convinced they will be as happy about it should they lose out on tickets to them or spend the game sat next to someone with zero interest in it who is only there to see if they can catch a glimpse of Ryan Reynolds.

Season ticket sales on pause at around 5000 until the University end revamp is completed.

Season ticket sales on pause at around 5000 until the University end revamp is completed. I would have thought they would have had some kind of front row queue for fans who actually bothered showing up for the last 14 years of non league. I've read a few ST holders of 10-20+ years have lost their seats.

It would be amazing if the Goats could sell 10000 STs, not for the financial side as they clearly dont need the money. It just makes it all the more funny if the ground is packed out watching them fail again.

So you'd rather have 1200 in legoland and fail ?

So you'd rather have 1200 in legoland and fail ? Let’s see where Salford 2.0 are in two years time shall we. I predict saddled with debt from The American circus, owned by another Hamilton and still in the conference.

I will be surprised if we get promoted this season. I wont ,are you really a Wrexham AFC fan ? Have been watching Wrexham since the late 50s, season ticket holder since early 90s. I hope we will be promoted, but I will not be holding my breath. This league is a lottery one team automatically promoted then a playoff lottery. Have never agreed with the playoffs, My way of thinking is if you are good enough to finish second you go up.

All my wife’s side of the family are wrexham mad supporters..and I’ve been a Chester fan since we where at sealand road..I know just everything about wrexham as any wrexham fan because my in-laws live and breath them…so I’m getting loads off them..and loads off posters like you..but…I’ve got Broad shoulders..and I’ve explained this well over 45 million times on here…and at my age…trust me, I’m not eager for anything

Mate…you don’t know half of it….it’s all friendly banter..but it does drag on a bit…although my father in law is 82, he does attend some Chester games with me for company and a beer on the way home..Or used to prior to COVID, looking forward to getting back now…

Buying carefully and not over spending for non league didn’t last long! 5k a week according to Carlisle fans 😳 Wrexham will be guaranteed 1st place in agent fees at least. The wage bill must be over 1 million now, Stockport are probably are the similar path. Chesterfield and Notts County also paying mad money, given the cap next season, at least 1 Club is going to be in deep shit. My money is actually on Chesterfield, after that Furlough scam, they deserve it.

Define "overspending"
£2.1m a year from TikTok Aviation Gin sponsorship Expedia sponsorship 6000+ shirts sold 5200 ST sold plus more when stand refurb is done Disney+ documentary Increased hospitality revenue Increased LED hoarding revenue
These are off the top of my head. The club is loaded and we're spending that money. I think we're being quite conservative with what we can spend (Mullin aside who's probably on 5k a week imo)

This cap won't happen. Clubs have voted to review it in place for next season. Even if it did it'll likely be on what a club can generate, see above post for details, and there will be ways around it. Signing or target bonuses etc

Will those income lines still be at the same level ? Only time can answer that question about overspending and sustainability.

Even if it ends up we only get as high as L2 then I'll be happy then if the money goes we can cut our cloth accordingly, there's a lot smaller clubs in L2 who operate sustainably. We'd stalled under trust ownership.

There’s calls on their forum for their Supporters Trust to give up/sell the lease of the ground to R&R. The Trust currently own the lease and sub-let the ground to R&R for an annual rent.
Those fans should be bloody careful what they wish for…
