Not a player but Steve Watson has been made manager of Darlington. Won 1-0 away yesterday. Decent manager Watson the best man for that job - he was great with us and it was a real shame he couldn’t stay, as I’ve said before. Shame it didn’t work out with the contract situation here but obviously 18 months on both parties have moved on. He’ll keep them up no danger, and we’ve got the best manager we could have for where we are at as a club. |

It says £350k in prize money alone but with the extra gates, a split gate today and then 100% guaranteed to be on TV next round - got to be nearing 500-600k in total. That would set us up for years…. |

It looks like Darlo fans have lost patience with Asante, nicknaming him Fatsante. Not even on the bench yesterday and they've signed another striker from York. Surely no more decent pay days left for him when you consider how little he plays due to injury.

He'll have plenty of admirers I imagine but I'd love to have him back, I'd swap Peers and Caton to have him genuinely. |

I remember us doing a card collection for his 60th, hoping to revive a few memories of his playing days and let him know he was still thought of. Awful disease at any age, but especially so for somebody diagnosed in their 50s. |

Real shame to hear he is near the end, totally committed player for us and a bit of a cult hero.
