I agree. The ridiculous anti Welsh chants constantly ringing out whilst our own club captain himself is Welsh is just ludicrous and needs to stop. As for the little scrot bullies who ganged up on a decent law abiding Chester fan in a toilet is absolutely abominable. I know this guy, he is a decent chap and he wouldn't hurt a fly yet he has been subjected to this appalling attack whilst visiting the gents. I was talking to him a couple of weeks ago and he isn't a current season ticket holder for whatever reason but does attend most games. I think he would be overjoyed if we could arrange a season ticket for him as a sign of gratitude for standing up for common decency. Hats off to you Squire 👏 It needs someone to set it up. I don't mind setting up a JustGiving or GoFundMe page for him and perhaps also the young Brackley fan who got hurt, but we need to know who these people are, how do we get the money/gifts to them, are they comfortable with accepting it and where could the money go instead if they're not? This. I believe a Brackley fan was also hit close to the eye by a flare/smoke bomb. You may have seen images of his injuries. If we happen to be in the same division as Brackley next season I think some sort of conciliatory gesture might be in order.

I think maybe best way forward is to inform the club that you are setting it up and why. Just so they know and it is advantageous to them for generating some decent publicity to counter the bad. No need necessarily to await any response as time is of the essence. I am sure names can be found put of victims but understandably they may not want publicity.

Could we raise the money and give it to the club, who can then contact the Chester/ Brackley fans in question without their names necessarily being made public? As you say, not that it should be why we are doing this but it would be nice to have some positive news for the club out of this too.

Somethings have already been done behind the scenes and it would be best if such ideas were communicated to the club. A number of possible gestures for next season have been communicated to the National League. The club feels it would be wrong to make these public in advance of the Brackley match against Kidderminster tomorrow. I am sure Brackley intend to win the match ! As someone else said it is not always possible to make certain things public as the victim does not want the publicity or in some cases it would not be appropriate.

Maybe if the line was also drawn where the ‘We all hate Welsh scum’ chant was concerned, then that would be another clear indication where the bar is for unacceptable behaviour. There is huge potential this side of the Flintshire border. Surely the fanbase can see that? Have to agree with this Bryn. Around 20% of the fan base live in Wales. A greater number will have been born there or are married to people who were. As to your last point the vast majority can but it is the dimwits who can not that are part of the problem. Some of them post on here and I expect them to comment on my post. The club have players at all levels, male and female, who are proud to be Welsh. We need to make sure we show we are proud of them !

Whilst we're at it I for one would like to stop hearing about shooting people - Wrexham supporters or not. Also the questioning of Ryan Reynolds criminal record - sex offender (seriously?). I'm tired of it. Banter. Harmless banter. No. Disagree. I've heard it all and am tired of it. Positive chants supporting the Club or Calum. Witty, spontaneous chants about something or other. Yes please. But these tired old boring dirges. No thanks. And I am not over sensitive. Happily watched Chester play at Sealand Road in crowds of 14,000+. Often stood on the Kop and the Stretford End right through the 60's. I am aware of football rivalries and welcome them. The atmosphere generated by the Harry Mac this year has been, for the most part, really excellent. More please, but cut out the crap! Also 100% agree with the ridiculous anti Welsh chants. I am a Cestrian. Long time supporter. Now back in my home City after living all over the place. Latterly that included an isolated house up in the hills of Snowdonia. I drove four hours round trip to most home games with "sheep shagger" ringing in my ears on the return journey. Ridiculous. Offensive. Not needed. OK, my rant over. 😉

The original post here is appalling. I've been tempted at a few away games to have a word with a few right pricks- no chance will I now.
On another note, I hate hearing 'We all hate Welsh scum'. We don't actually. I cannot stand 'Shoot the Wrexham scum. I'll say it here as well, I don't hate Wrexham. Not at all. I'm totally indifferent to them. The word hate should be nowhere football. It's a game FFS.
And finally if the crowd funder for this fella and the lad from Brackley gets off ground, I'm in for a few quid.

One about Ryan Reynolds stealing our money would be fine as we will all end up funding the new stand if they get away with what they are planning.

I'll bow to your greater understanding about the plans for the Wrexham stand CB - but I thought that their bid for "levelling up" funds was turned down. Maybe more to it than I know... My main point is that I like and appreciate positive chants rather than at times aggressive and negative chants. One of the highlights of the season for me was hearing "Cal-um Mc-in-tyre" ringing out from the Harry Mac followed, at the end of the game, by Cal orchestrating the supporters (behind the walk) in a roar. Great stuff!

On a few occasions last season the team of the week who get to take penalties at half time etc came from North Wales, including from as far away as Conwy one week. Not sure how it works in terms of us inviting them or them applying to us, but it certainly would appear that we are looking to build relationships in North Wales.
Anti-Welsh chants do nothing to help the club’s efforts on that score and I agree with others about hoping they stop.

Looks like they have their own problems when it comes to making offensive comments as Council Leader is accused by Plaid and Labour of what sounds very much like a racist remark. www.wrexham.com/news/i-stand-by-everything-ive-said-says-council-leader-after-accusations-of-divisive-and-offensive-rant-234366.html

All for reducing the tone of some of the footie songs if it really has an affect on reducing instances of taking it too far and resorting to violence. However some chants though taken literally are offensive can be taken by 'normal' fans as being part of what makes the atmosphere at times. The Welsh Swansea fans take it on the chin and chant that they are 'sheep shaggers and proud of it'ex. I remember years back meeting Professor Peter Hennessey and he had just been to his first soccer match at West Ham.He found the atmosphere and humour incredible to witness. Most fans chant but don't literally mean what they say. I recall away at Colchester in the cup when we won in the last minute and as the ref blew for the end the Colchester fans who had been singing the usual refrains about Northern heritage (i am a southerner) applauded us en masse. I don't believe it will stop anyone intent on violence but can understand why some feel it is going too far.

Personal favourite of mine is if you were born in wales you must have heard the tales etc… then it ends with DIE DIE DIE DIE WREXHAM SCUM. Also ‘And we will kill them, those Wrexham bastards’ Been sung for years and will be sung for many more I'm surprised you have time to post on here; don't you have a MENSA meeting to go to?

Forest got fined 50k (25k of which is suspended) for a pitch invasion last season which resulted in a player getting assaulted, amongst other incidents. No games behind closed doors, points deductions or loss of sponsors and only a small fine compared to what they can afford. Would be very surprised if any of the above was to happen to us based off what other clubs have received in the past.
