Why in this day and age of instant media on various platforms, are we resorting to typed out letters? We should have this info out ASAP as it is money in the bank (which we are short of) The new away kit is a let down, so we need money from somewhere. Why don't you bugger off to the ice hockey forum if you've got nothing but criticism to spout here. You don't need the club anymore, so go and poison the hockey league with your crap Totally agree with marner93. Way over the top oaks blue

I personally think this situation is ridiculous. Has any other professional football team who's season ended in April not released their season ticket details until June? What on earth do the club think they are achieving by doing this? The off season is an expensive enough time as it is for many families without giving people the time to spend their hard earned cash on something else.

This really looks very amateurish, which would be entirely understandable if this was down to volunteers. However, we have a reasonably paid CEO on the payroll who has said he is responsible for ticketing etc. I thought he had compiled a database of emails etc, so why are we spending money sending out this stuff in the post? All seems a little odd and the delay in announcing prices and marketing season tickets is difficult to understand commercially. Has Mark gone on holiday and left Tony in charge?

It certainly looks like it ! Maybe someone from the Club could explain this less than dynamic sales strategy ?

Letters are more direct and personal than tweets to the whole internet. Also some people don't have social media. Could result in two or three renewals, which would recoup the cost of the whole idea itself, any more a bonus on top of it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the details when they are released. McGuire bigged himself up 12 months ago as being the man to break records when it comes to season ticket sales, based on how he had performed at previous clubs. He was highly critical of previous campaigns and vowed to ensure that future campaigns were far more successful. With this in mind, I very much look forward to how his many months of planning translates into sales. There will be nowhere to hide and it will be the first public opportunity for fans to assess his impact on finance. By this I mean tangible ways of assessing impact, not self-generated figures that have no external verification. Hopefully he will silence his doubters, including me, for the sake of the club.

Could someone link me to where Maguire stated he'd bring record ST sales in? I've seen many people say it but never actually seen where it's come from. Oh and it was stated when he joined he wouldn't be making a full impact on the club for 18 months, which is the end of this year.
I think we all know no matter what he does we will not achieve record sales, and many Chester fans, without naming any names, will be licking their lips at the prospect of writing some angry messages on here in a few weeks time about ST sales.

I'd be expecting a significant impact, leading to record sales next year. Everything he is doing should be leading us to that. If he achieves it, none of 'us' will have anything to complain about.I appreciate it's difficult for you to take a step back from this.

Don't know why some people are getting so hot and bothered about timing of season ticket sales. At last CFU meeting it was explained that there would be no "Early Bird" scheme as such, as the two reasons clubs do them, i.e. run out of money during the previous season or a hook such as promotion or cup final appearance were not relevant at Chester FC this year. In fact tickets only went on sale 2 weeks earlier last year (16th May I believe), and the majority of sales were reportedly done in the last week of the offer, which ended towards the end of June. Whether this years season ticket pricing structure is an improvement in terms of addressing demographic pricing issues remains to be seen but hopefully there will be some encouragement to entice the younger supporters to come along on a regular basis. Can't understand why those who have previously stated that they won't be buying a season ticket for the coming season keep banging on. Perhaps they are only joking, but sadly doubt it as they seem to have little sense of humour and chips on their shoulders.

To be honest, the use of a letter isn't a bad idea at all, because it engages with the fans more in a personal, informal way. I also think that Mark Maguire is using the new database in order to interact which is miles better than just putting up a message on social media, which some people don't read. I hope this campaign ends up with a positive result, for Mark and for the club.

I could recall in March/April that they would be released but surely it is late to release early bird tickets now. There's over 2 months until the football season, we can do 2 or 3 weeks early bird until mid-late June then last third of June until end of July general sale.

Looks like the club has had a drive for emails and addresses in the past few months, so hopefully people can expect more communication in the future. I know that one email has been sent out from a new mailing list..
