Hi,
I am hoping that this can be pinned, as per the old Deva Chat forum.
It's just a reminder to supporters, that if they have any ideas or questions directly related to the football club, that there is a dedicated email address for you all to contact. By utilising this address, it will provide you with a far more direct approach for you to have any queries answered. The email address is quite simply, fans@chesterfc.com
If anybody has any CFU related queries, then I more than happy to try and answer those at my email address, which is alan.povey@chesterfc.com.
thanks,
Alan

Great to see someone in authority finally recognise the People on the forum and that their voice matters
Keep up the good work Alan

Thanks Alan, much appreciated. The live stream Q&A was also particularly useful for those of us who are exiles and therefore struggle to get to many/any of the CFU meetings. Be great if you could get Macca to do one!

Might need slightly more time than 30 minutes though. 😉

But the reality is that most Chairmen we've had have been impotent figure-heads. Who exactly are the decision-makers at the club? Is it you? Or are you the latest guy that's been suckered into putting his head over the parapet?

HT Hi Hairy Triangle, You're correct, I did put my head above the parapet, but only because I believe in what this club can achieve and how we can do it. I can tell you though, I don't do it for the good of my health. Thanks, Alan

All the chairmen have been duds since Chris Pilsbury.

And Chris Pilsbury was probably the biggest dud of the lot! Threw his toys out of the pram when his mate didn't get re-elected to the board.

All the chairmen have been duds since Chris Pilsbury. Yes, Pilsbury was the man to lead us into the unknown and during his chairmanship, we had a lot of success, but you could argue he was wreck less with the budget. Allowed Young to splash out and that's left us short now. Sure, it's great to be back where we left off, but it's come at a cost. Can't argue with what we've done this season on a limited budget, but at the same time, you just wish we had that bit extra & that we were a little more prudent during the early years. His position became untenable though after his step when his friend wasn't elected onto the board.

just wonderfing does chris pilsbury still attend games ? being a fans club the board members should be fans first not glory hunters(not saying the present board are by the way) if someone is not re elected they should not "throw their toys out of the pram" and disappear but support the board and club in any way they can that is a true fan COYB

I know its been spoke about a lot but how about some transport to get from the city centre to the ground.
I thought of the 'Ground For A Pound' scheme. Club invests in a minibus or something, each passenger pays a pound. Could also benefit away fans too, whom we can each earn a pound off. Say a minibus holds 20 people, that's £20 earned each journey. Ferry fans non stop from 1pm ish on a match day = money money money (and encourage people to go to games!)

There used to be a double decker bus from town to the Deva many years ago.
I can't see this being any way financially viable for the club

It may take a while for the club to recoup the costs but if it's in use every single match day for a few years then surely it'll become profitable..?

There's already a bus that stops at the top of Bumpers Lane and outside B&Q and that storage company (I find the cut-through down the side of there quicker to walk through than Bumpers Lane). No need for another one.

Hardly money, money, money mate.... on those figures it'd lose the club money!

One thing i personally think would be a good idea ( and it would attract a few more through the gate) is that underneath the main stand by the walk out into the ground as you go through the turnstiles, that we serve beer in there so people can have a few before the game as sometimes blues bar can get abit full on matchdays also would bring in a few more £££ for the club aswell! Have two stewards on the entrance and the jobs a good un!
