Hull City would have counted too had they stayed up. It just goes to show that it's not the end of the world if you hit rock bottom. "... in 1976–77 Watford were briefly bottom of the entire Football League." I did say at least 5, so well done Lobster

Well done Rio ..... indeed it was one of those. It was the one that the great Herbert Chapman managed. I'm sure you'll be able to work that out. I don't think I have heard oime tore myf him mate but I'm going to have a random guess... is it Huddersfield? Wouldn't be surprised if I get it wrong 😄. Huddersfield is correct Rio. Herbert Chapman was before my time too, but he won 3 consecutive titles with Huddersfield before winning another 3 with Arsenal.

How many Chester players past and present have had palindromic surnames (same backwards as forwards)? I can think of: Ross Hannah Angus Eve Karl Noon (trialist) Reply with any others, or whatever bits of football trivia, quiz questions and other miscellany you can think of. Did Derek Rotavator once play centre half for us or was that just a dream ? No I distinctly recall Derek's sliding tackles churning up the pitch!

But I thought the border got changed a few years ago. Yes it is Rio some say the east stand is in England but according to google maps only a small quarter of an office on top right corner is in England. I'm sure it will be a TVs quiz show one day. I stand to be corrected and if in anyway I am incorrect I blame Google 🤐

I have to laugh being a Wrexham supporter as I have admitted in the past that when I attend all your home games when the reds are away your crowd sing the song when you grow up blah blah. It actually happened to me all my family from great great to parent they all lived near border and supported Chester. I was that black sheep or to be pc miss guided individual in their eyes who had his head turned by the massive floodlights. Our family had no guns etc and I am here to laugh out loud each time it's sung. 🤕

Yes, against Cammell Laird. One other to get. I think there are only two.

Who was our unlikely leading goalscorer in the Conference North winning season until overtaken on the final day.
Tough question about GK.
Was it a stand-in GK or someone who only played 1 game?
I thought Adam Judge type signing, but he was dropped after conceding in his one game v Chasetown

Yes, against Cammell Laird. One other to get. I think there are only two. Nobody know the other one then? He only played in goal for us for a few minutes, but he was a proper goalkeeper i.e. not an outfield player who had to go in goal.

Iain Jenkins is one I think. Billy Stewart ? Never played for us in the Conference I don't think. I think I've got the other one but I had to cheat and look it up so I'll let someone else try and guess it.

Name the two players who made appearances for Chester in the third, fourth and fifth tiers of English football. Iain Jenkins and is the other Nick Richardson? I defintelty remember him in 95/96 but did he join during our Division Two campaign in 95/95? Played for us in the conference after relegation from the league I'm sure?

Jenkins and Richardson are correct - Richardson mostly played in the fourth tier but first joined on loan for a month in 1994-95 in Division Two (now League One) and figured briefly in 2000-01 after relegation to the Conference.

I think there are eight players who have played for both Chester City and Chester FC, so before and after 2010. How many can we name?
