We've got a leader now who's doing his best for non British and trying to take us back into the EU by the back door, sneaking us back in and hoping no one will notice. And I’m not allowed to call an Irish team Irish? Selective moderation and proves that when people moan about seeing politics on the football chat they’re actually only really moaning about seeing political views they specifically disagree with. The difference is you say things that are extreme by the vast majority of people’s standards & with the intention of winding people up. I’d actually say that Lobster’s politics are far closer to yours than mine but this is yet another prime example of why it should be kept to Off Topic. As I’ve said previously, this forum was far more peaceful while you were absent.

Don't think it's necessarily the politics they disagree with Nathan, just you. Even in this thread you've gone off topic to be insulting. Words don't bother me by the way, you just come across as a cunt. Not always good to spend your life living in an echo chamber. Differing opinions and debate is healthy. My point was, this happens all the time on this forum - people saying “keep politics off the football chat” when they clearly obviously mean “keep political views that I oppose off the football chat”. A few people have been caught out on that over the years.

It’s an EU directive that makes it mandatory. A lot of drinks companies are multinational and there would be added costs to make detachable caps for the UK market only so we get the crap caps as well It’s for recycling reasons but a lot of drinks companies use black plastic caps and black plastic is non-recyclable 🤷🏻♂️ If Brexit is actually about having a higher standard of living than the EU, why don't we get the drinks made and bottled here, use green materials, standardise recycling throughout the country and actually be a leader in something?
I've always been open minded to the idea that there might be benefits of being outside the EU, but all it actually seems to be about is gloating at foreigners and continuing to moan about EU directives, even though we don't have to follow them anymore.
Sorry, politics again, I know.
Because Coca-Cola, Pepsi Co etc aren’t controlled by the UK government I thought that’s quite obvious but apparently I need to explain it

A few people have been caught out on that over the years. Couldn't give two shits about anyone's political allegiances to be honest. It just gets boring when it's on the football chat, because all it serves to do is wind people up and derail threads. Take it to the off topic where people can consume and debate if if they choose to, rather than a thread about kiosks turning into the house of commons. If the forum isn't too your liking then nobody is forcing you or anybody else to come on here.

Circa 7-8 years ago the pie consisted of a portion of mixed meat/gravy slop in a container with a programme sized slice of pastry nestled on top 🤢

When we were at football league side, you couldn't beat Rochdale for the pies 🤓 Now you’re talking AA; Pie, Chips, Peas and Gravy on the Sandy Lane End was to say the least a culinary delight. Not been to Rochdale in yonks - I know the away supporters are housed on the side (Willbutts Road), I’m sure the grub will be still be as tasty!!!!

There was also a quality chippy, loads of free street parking and a great pub on the road behind the away end.

So says the bloke who turns up at the game with a bag of snacks 🤣🤣🤣 If you could read posts properly you would’ve seen the snacks are for my primary school age children 👍🏻 I’d expect fully grown adults to be able to go two hours without needing a hot dog or a meat and potato pie. Then again, only takes a quick glance around the ground and maybe I need to lower those expectations… Does a fun run around the zoo and all of a sudden thinks he’s Oleksander Usyk and is trying to body shame Chester fans. Calvin Klein signed you up yet Frank?

We've got a leader now who's doing his best for non British and trying to take us back into the EU by the back door, sneaking us back in and hoping no one will notice. Oh no. What's he done? There’s £40 billion in lost tax receipts that may have something to do with that. If he did, they’d be able to afford the winter fuel allowance. ‘Doing his best for non British’. Christ, our press have done some brainwashing.

Were we trusted to drink beer in the stands back then? Like the other 23 teams in the league Was hoping this would be back but appears a club decision rather than kiosk decision to not allow alcohol in the ground. Given the queues in The Cestrian pre-match, there’s clearly a demand. I would say that said queues are putting fans/new fans off getting to the ground earlier than needed as it takes 15 mins to get a beer/soft drink.

Think we need to park the big fan zone plans and get a permanent awning / marquee outside the blues bar with a 3 or 4 taps. Add in a little street food van (dough and go are wank now) and we’re onto a winner.

The 15 or so people in Goals would probably have spent 10 each at least rather than it going to Goals. People queuing single file instead of queuing normally at the bar probably don’t help.

Goals did good discounts for season ticket holders on home matchdays last season - at least you can actually get served without waiting for 75 minutes and at least you know you're in a football bar and not some Instagrammable wine bar with flowers on the wall and no club memorabilia anymore.

I'd love to grab a few in the Cestrian before the game, but 15 minutes to get served and then banging elbows with all and sundry usually puts me off. Think I've been in there twice in the last 5 seasons or so.
It's always been an issue in there and not really sure what the answer is with the current footprint (I'm assuming the original planners had never bought a beer at a football ground in their lives), but it can't be beyond the wit of man to put on a better experience.
Or is it simply a case of if the Legends Lounge people are happy, anything else is an afterthought?

Or is it simply a case of if the Legends Lounge people are happy, anything else is an afterthought? I think the latter is a little harsh but appreciate it may come across that way at times. The Cestrian as far as I’m aware pay a % to the club per year so really it’s up to them to source additional temporary bars. Whilst they have the temp one to the right of the main bar, this doesn’t help congestion at all and makes it look worse than it probably is. Moving that bar to an undercover gazebo outside and selling cans would solve many problems in terms of capacity and efficiency. Adding more caterers to the selection outside would also help with pre-match engagement and atmosphere but would hazard a guess GWG/The Cestrian wouldn’t want anyone moving in on their patch (and rightly so as contracted vendors).
