3-1 Curzon, Weeks to pull one back after being 2-0 down at half time then Curzon finish it off at 3-1

We are going to Curzon not Eastlands. Should be beating a team containing the likes of Waring easily. Time for the manager to big up the team and not the opposition.
Get Bainbridge and Burke in midfield and Henry and Turner on the wings and Kurt and Caton in the middle and not stuck out on the wings.
2 - 0 Chester.

Hoping for the best.
Fearing the worst.
I wonder if getting battered a couple of times might actually do us more good in the long run (forcing personell/tactical changes).
Anyway, as I’m going, I’ll plump for a resounding 2-1 win.

Don’t see Burke long term in midfield as we need to max out on his future potential by playing him in his best position and hope someone comes in with a big fee in January. Going for an improvement tomorrow but a 2-1 defeat.

Needs to be a win tomorrow to start cancelling out this poor home form. A draw isn't good enough in my opinion. Yes, it's a tricky fixture, but that's the position you put yourself in if you take two points out of nine at home this month.

Take a point 1-1
550 diehards outnumbering the home fans again
Sadly anything less and we’ll drop further off the pace and it’ll start to feel like the season will be a write off

Have a bad feeling, but I'll remain somewhat positive and go for a bore draw.
Wouldn't mind seeing Kurt and Caton up top together, sick of seeing both of them on the wing. The way they are playing it's probably worth trying something different in a diamond formation
Harrison
Hunter Rawlinson Burke Woodthorpe
Bainbridge Weeks Glendon Murray
Caton Willoughby

It's not like we're leaking goals, the worst we've defended recently is at Scarborough when we had players out. The problem is in attacking situations. I think we'll be tight but unexciting so I reckon 1-1 is on the cards. If we get some good fortune going our way for once then I can see us nicking it.

Bored of the usual devachat previews (must win, tin pot league, Weeks and Glendon, Peers and Willoughby) from miserable buggers.
Brian Wilde who played Foggy in last of the summer wine was born in Ashton and then died 80 years later, the day before Chester got beat 2 nil at home by Wrexham in league 2 in front of 3849 fans.
Hoping for a sunny day and a win.

Today marks the first of three very tricky and important games coming up, as we look to win our first league match in over a month. It’s vital we get a reaction out of our players this afternoon, as our current form is nowhere near good enough by our standards, so we need to get our mojo back. It’ll be a tough ask though because Curzon Ashton are absolutely flying under Seals legend Craig Mahon. Hopefully it’ll be an open game on arguably the best playing surface in the league, which’d suit us really well, although that depends on who gets selected in our midfield. One of George Glendon or Declan Weeks has to be dropped, because it was so obvious on Tuesday that they didn’t click, and that has been an occurrence for some time. I’m not sure what more Mitch Hancox has to do to start, because he arrived here with great pedigree and is being wasted sat on the bench for the most part, so he at least deserves the chance to be getting more regular game time. I really hope that Jack Bainbridge will be fit enough to play later on, as he was a huge miss against Buxton.
Our last match was on Tuesday, as we drew a blank for three league games in a row, in what was a 0-1 defeat to Buxton. It was a deflating watch, because for the amount of possession we had (76%), there was very little end product. Don’t get me wrong, The Bucks’ antics were infuriating at times, and the referee made a couple of baffling decisions, but we’re long-used to teams coming to the Deva with those tactics by now, so we only have ourselves to blame for not finding a way past them. Our first-half display was poor, as we were second best against a Buxton side who began with a very high press - giving us no time on the ball. 14 minutes in Ethan Fitzhugh smashed in a screamer from about 25-yards out to make it 0-1 to the visitors. Elyh Harrison saw it late, although being right behind the strike I felt his positioning could’ve been a lot better. We had a couple of good opportunities through Charlie Caton, who forced a strong save out of True Grant, while Kurt Willoughby ballooned a shot over before the break, but that was it. We dominated the second-half and played a lot better, however our end product was still frustrating. Dylan Mottley-Henry put in a series of decent balls into the box, but there was either no blue shirt at the end of it, or we were just too small to get on the end of his crosses. The best chance of the game fell to Kurt Willoughby, whose goal drought sadly continued as he smashed a penalty against the post with 11 minutes of normal time to go. Buxton defended heroically to see the game out - claiming their second 0-1 win at the Deva this calendar year.
Curzon Ashton have made a superb start to the campaign, as they currently sit in third. The Nash have spent the entirety of the season in the play-offs, and have a tremendous away record to their name - winning seven out of eight in all competitions. Their record at the Tameside Stadium is less formidable, as Curzon have won four out of their eight fixtures there, so we really need to go at them. Chester FC legend Craig Mahon is doing a terrific job as Manager of the Greater Manchester-based outfit, as he guided them to their first ever play-off finish in this league last campaign, he’s got them competing right at the top this so far this season, plus Curzon have secured a home Emirates FA Cup First Round tie against Sky Bet League One high-fliers Mansfield Town next Saturday. Let’s hope that’ll distract them today 😏!
A busy November follows today, with upcoming games against Hereford FC and Darlington set to provide us with stern tests, so we can’t be dropping many points against fellow sides with play-off ambitions. The table doesn’t really mean anything until the last couple of months of the season, but that’s still not to say that we should be doing far better than where we are now. It’s my birthday next Thursday, so three points this afternoon in Tameside wouldn’t be a bad early present for sure! I’ll be on the 09:29 train with a few others and can’t wait for a great day out in Manchester. Wouldn’t really call this a must-win, but an improvement from Tuesday in terms of performance is the bare minimum we should be expecting though. I’m going to be optimistic and go for a battling 1-1 draw.
Score - Curzon Park Rangers (Buckley-Ricketts) 1-1 Chester FC (Hancox).
Attendance - 947 (620 Chester FC).

Actually Curzon's home record in the league is w2 d2 l2. It's their away record of w5 d0 l1 that's the reason they are 3rd.
Looking at the two teams records it's unlikely to be a high scoring affair. We've scored 14 in 12, they've scored 15 in 12.
I can see this almost being a first goal wins game. Being pessimistic I'll predict a 1-0 defeat as when I do that we tend to win!
It's a strange surface at Curzon. It's looks great, but the ball loses pace really quickly across that surface. It's also a shorter pitch, which tends to mean there's very little space.
