I don’t think the players are playing for him. I don’t think this group has from start of the season TBH. Something wrong from the start. maybe it’s some of the players have played at a higher level than this and under managers who played in the EFL? I don’t know just guessing but could some of them have a ‘what the fuck do you know about football’ mentality CMc has not played at any decent level and I reckon some of the players can pick up on it with what he says and the crazy tactics he employs, if true then it would not be too much to suggest that apathy is rubbing off on the team? 🤓 Spot on Waggoner . . . I’ve said similar on another post. CalMac is clearly a good whizz-kid with statistics and data and in all probability send some of the playing staff into migraine mode. But as you have said he’s never played the game at any serious level and again in all probability some of the current staff will have an equal level of coaching badges and imo would be more suited to coaching this current crop of players as they have actual playing experience as well as having rubbed shoulders with a fair few tactically aware players and managers throughout their careers. We supporters, through season tickets, pay on the day, btb, monthly draws, match sponsorship etc etc have virtually handed CalMac iro £1,000,000 for players who he appears (for the majority of games) not able to coach/manage into a team shape that can produce a formula for a reasonable level of footballer. It’s very evident that CalMac is to be fully recognised for the knowledge that he has of working with and producing young local talent, which are the life blood of this club. But currently, on match days I get the impression that CalMac thinks that tactics are a packet of mint sweets. Time to show a serious level of improvement or seek employment elsewhere!!!

3 years of listening to the same voice who’s recent record isn’t very good must take its toll on things particularly when it’s coming from someone who hadn’t played the game to any notable level No doubt some will find they hard to accept Personally if we do move in another direction I’d like the board to go and try and get Gavin Cowan speaks well knows the division be a good appointment what do we think?

Some people on here just thrive off us losing don’t they. Drives me mad.
I’ve not got my head in the clouds, I acknowledge and have been vocal about how boring and turgid we’ve been since the turn of the year. It’s been borderline torture.
But if you can’t balance your views then all you’re doing is dividing a fan base and making a wedge between fans and staff.
I think he’s got until Christmas to show a turn up in results AND attacking performances. If we lose the next 3 does he go? Probably. But this manic criticism is killing us.
And who the hell would we bring in anyhow……

Of course it’s not been great lately but we’re 7 off top with a game in hand. Most of these have got a personal vendetta against him. Hence people making multiple account to slag him. The fella is one of us, used to stand on the terraces watching us. The vitriol I’m seeing, a lot of it personal is a fucking disgrace.

Results and performances in 2024 haven't been anywhere near good enough. So even though cal is one of us how much longer would you give him to turn it round . These next 4 fixtures maybe?

Cant quite believe how easy we have been to play against in this past 12 months compared to how we fared in cals first season.
Our away record was unbelievable in that first season. it was actually to many draws at home which was the difference in actually winning the league for me. Where ever we went we looked solid and a threat going forwards. We are night and day a different side to that first season and im sorry but thats down to cal and his poor recruitment.
Last season we had a great defensive record so he boisters our defence by adding 2 centre backs which wasnt needed! We have recruited in the wrong areas of the pitch apart from bainbridge who has been a great addition. We clearly should of strengthend in the attacking areas and added more creative players.
Those decisions could end up costing him his job. Such a shame as that first season showed so much potential i thought that was the standard cal, his staff and the players had set. Unfortunatly we are well below them standards

I just want to go to a game and feel like we can have a go at a team and score some goals. At the moment I fret that if the opposition score it’s game over. Currently 7 points and top spot feels a long, long way away. I’m not sure how we’ve got to this point, given the quality within the squad and I’ve no idea how we turn it around but more importantly I’m not sure the manager knows either.

These next 4 games are crucial to our season for me it's got to be a minimum 8 points. 10 would be great but anything less and it's starts to get very worrying for me .

Although I'm not quite the 40 year old virgin, I do realise that posting poetry could seriously ruin my chances of pulling, or at worst, leave my street cred in tatters, if at all, I have any left. Nevertheless, I'm gunna dedicate this next number to Billy Heath’s Alfreton Town.
Turf it up the field Boot it up the park Nothing special Nothing flash If in doubt Smash it into touch
We're pre-historic tacticians Route one technicians Long throw-ins, corners and free kicks We're set piece specialists
We're gunna hoof it, boot it, lump it long Hit and hope, don't keep it Just pelt it, belt it, put your laces through it Put it through the windows of a transit
We're on first name terms With the roof of the stand We know the car park Like the back of our hands Hit the channels Hit the flanks Give it lead And find Row Z
You wouldn't pay to watch it You wouldn't even play if they payed You could call it a spectator sport If only they came and they stayed
Put it in the mix Put it in the melting pot We're a one-nil hit and run outfit With a mean machine midfield And a strike force built of brick
(After Cooper Clarke)

And there lies the problem, he's your mate and most of the other happy clappers are his mate too. Me, I have no feelings either way regards CMc . It is genuinely not about him as a person, it's about him as a manager. If we go on a 12 game winning blast I will be the first to say I was wrong, but at present I cannot see where this improvement is coming from.

Southern blue I understand you are off to leamington happy to discuss further on Tuesday night . I get your point and in many ways I’d agree with your sentiment. That said we’ve been poor vast majority of this calendar year. What’s arguably disrespectful is the board being disrespectful to the fans as something based on results alone should have been done by now . Blue4life - that’s a good shout no idea if our level works for him ? I mentioned Cowan as I’ve listened to him speak a few times after games and he comes across well . Distance and location might be an issue .

Facts are that the top teams are all having unpredictable results. We are in a good position still and a couple of wins will change mood on here. I can appreciate the concerns but we have to keep the faith.

Absolutely a case of when not if he goes.
He looks and feels like a manager in the death throws of his tenure in charge. Only his mates or those with a vested interest in him want him to stay, everyone else sees the writing on the wall.
Theres nothing else to say on the matter, whether he walks or takes a payout is the only thing to speculate on

I can appreciate the concerns but we have to keep the faith. We’re lucky. We could be 15 points off the top if Scunthorpe weren’t so poor as well. Next few games are critical and winnable. Chorley possibly a huge 6 pointer. 10 points from 12 and we’re firmly back on it. I desperately want this to work out.

Well sweet baby Jesus and the Orphans.
A thread filled with some of the most asinine takes, errant nonsense mixed in with some sort of holy divine right for us to be walking this league.
A point I will make first. The resources we have as a football club match our league position in terms of budget.
Right now we sit 2 points outside the playoffs in Mid-November. If we were 2 points outside the playoffs after 46 matches had been played I could understand the levels of disquiet. We’re 7 points off the top of the league, a league that seemingly sees the lead change as often as night turns to day.
We’re the 6th best team at home in the league, which is about right. We’re the 17th best team away from home in the league, which is exactly where our problems lay.
Nobody is going to pretend that we’re an exciting front footed side that grabs games by the scruff of the neck and drills anyone we play. It’s not been enjoyable. But it’s far from a disaster that some are making out that it is.
The threshold for wanting the manager out seems to be very low, in-part because some of you don’t like the way we’re playing, but certainly because some of you didn’t like the appointment from day one. Both of those reasons are fine and acceptable. So just say it, instead of coming on the internet and crying like a massive baby about it because there is a desperate air about it.
