With the fixture release day just around the corner, who does everyone think we will get on the opening day? I hope/ think that we get Hartlepool at home.

Could imagine 2,000+ Chester fans getting on Barrow's backs for the whole game 😉, but I wouldn't like a repeat of the match which we had to suffer through back in March.

Don't think we've ever had a local game on the opening day in this division (either as CCFC or CFC) and I'd be surprised if that changed this time. Will predict Bromley away.

Just a bit less rubbish than we were anyway thats part of our history now August marks the start of a new dawn I think Orient home or away could be a good start they are in a bit of disarray at the moment but hey it doesnt matter who we get we have to beat them

I love these utterly pointless prediction threads based upon nothing whatsoever.
I'm predicting Dover away for no other reason than there is as much chance of that fixture as any other.

I don't think, despite Casson's £££££s Barrow will ever get out of this league. Probably because of their isolated location and their inability to put together a team that are local to the area. They tried to overcome this by creating a training base in Wigan but that hasn't worked so far. They are also going to lose their better players to league clubs as shown Williams moving to Rochdale for £100k. They don't need the money, they need the players. The players have no affinity with Barrow, they are only there for the inflated wage packets. They should have at least reached the play-offs last season with the players at their disposal.

Not that rubbish ..... they won here 2-0 didn't they? They'll be relegated or round the relegation zone next season The only way that will happen is if the owner decides that no matter how much money he throws at it they won't increase their base support of less than 300. ..... and we've yet to beat them in 4 attempts.

I'm predicting Sutton or Dagenham away. Me too, nailed on a long trip away from home to someone.. We never seem to get the rub of the green in cup draws either.

We could do with starting well, so I'd take a winnable home fixture like Boreham Wood. Would prefer not to start with someone like Eastleigh or Hartlepool away.
Won't be Wrexham - they'd never give us that fixture on the first day, and I doubt they'd give us Tranmere either.

I'm more bothered about who our festive double-header will be against as we know it won't be Wrexham or Tranmere. Southport have dropped out so Tranmere or Wrexham can't play them either. We never get Macc in this, whilst the powers that be reckon Solihull are apparently our local rivals these days!

No reason why it couldn't be Macc, as although it's a local fixture there's no animosity between the two clubs. Fylde or even Halifax are possibilities as well.
