I'm more bothered about who our festive double-header will be against as we know it won't be Wrexham or Tranmere. Southport have dropped out so Tranmere or Wrexham can't play them either. We never get Macc in this, whilst the powers that be reckon Solihull are apparently our local rivals these days! Doubt they'd give us Solihull again. No reason why it couldn't be Macc, as although it's a local fixture there's no animosity between the two clubs. Fylde or even Halifax are possibilities as well. Problem with Solihull is how far they are from everybody else in the league. I doubt there's any club that would pick them as their festive fixture, but ultimately somebody will be lumbered with them again. Would hope it's not us this time.

There's an even number of Northern teams, so nobody from around here will get Solihull over Xmas this year. They will more than likely get Maidenhead.
It'll be something like:
Chester/Wrexham v Macc/Fylde Tranmere v Halifax Barrow v Guiseley Hartlepool v Gateshead Solihull v Maidenhead Boreham Wood v Leyton Orient Dagenham v Ebbsfleet Dover v Maidstone Woking v Aldershot Sutton v Bromley Torquay v Eastleigh

Anyone at home, preferably one of the lesser southern teams...
Leyton Orient away nailed on.

We could do with a bit of inside knowledge here... where's the usual 'my mates mum's new fella, knows a bloke, whose best mates uncle, has been painting the offices of the national league, and he managed to see the computer screen yesterday and we're at home to Matlock Town, first game' type of rumour

Apart from them and the Goats, everyone else in the division is clear North or South of England.

Never like playing promoted sides early on as they can carry momentum from the previous season. Won't be going to opening day match as it's my sisters 21st so glad it's away really. That said it's closer to my house than Chester to get to Solihull! All games look tough on paper there will be no guarenteed points this season, we need a good start. No reason why Fylde will be any good when half their squad could end up with betting bans! Could end up playing us without half their first team if found guilty?

Personally think that really is as good a start as we could have hoped for, especially the first 9 which offers us a great opportunity to get some momentum going. Arguably, Hartlepool away is the only really difficult fixture out of those first 9.

Guiseley is a disappointing Christmas/New Year double header. Feels like we were due a more local one than that!

Do the people who devise these fixtures know where Chester is. Last season we had Solihull over Christmas, this year it looks as if we have moved to Yorkshire.

I think its a tricky start personally, promoted teams coming up are a nightmare to play against early on as we found out last season when Maidstone came up, throw Hartlepool's away and Aldershot away its a bloody tough month.

Got to question the way they work out these fixtures, Halifax away 2 days before Christmas, may as well throw in Eastleigh away then as no one will be bothered.
September we have Eastleigh, Torquay and Dover on Saturdays all away, nightmare.
Then we get two new teams coming down in orient and Hartlepool, both games away are midweek!
Fixture list is so rigid, needs freshening up a bit.

You may well be better off smashing an all nighter than sleeping though
