So it's yet another pre-season friendly away tomorrow night, and another which is on a 3G surface. It will probably be a tougher test with a similar squad being put out. Hopefully Craig Mahon and Ross Hannah will be able to play some part of it, and I think we will manage to win a tight game. Come on you blues! Score: Bala Town 1-2 Chester FC (Akintunde, White) Attendance: 535 (190 Chester)

Would have been tempted to make this one given I grew up just twelve miles the other side of Bala for seven years before moving to Chester. Got a job to do that day though. No wonder they have a 3G pitch, it's aways pissing down there.

Don't normally do away pre-season but, as I drive past their ground on my way to all our home games, this is a local game for me so I will be there tonight.

I've got a good feeling about Harry White, hope he gets another tonight, will do his confidence loads of good with the season fast approaching, I'm starting to think with Akintunde's pace we should try and put him on the wing attacking the right side. He can cause problems.

No sign of Tom Crawford or Nathan Brown. Would like Tom Shaw to have a run out, we may need him suddenly and he won't have to many opportunities to be match fit. The number of trialists in goal and defence explains our squad needs perfectly. Let's hope there is someone useful and cheap 😂

Hannah not being risked and Marsh-Hughes from the youth team scheduled to play second half.

2-1 Lloyd Marsh-Hughes ⚽️⚽️, the 16-year-old scoring on his first team debut. Congratulations to him, but isn't it a bit funny how all of the names in his name are former Chester players (Ryan Lloyd, Will Marsh, Sam Hughes) 😅.

No Hannah or Mahon again? Does anyone know if Mahon will ever be fit again? It's hard to trust JM when it comes to injuries as he's not honest and upfront about things.

Missed that - good spot. Let's hope it's not the latest failed comeback. We desperately need him fit and firing.

I wasn't there tonight but it does seem like a second half team of youth trailists and our first choice stricker ( my opinion) have done a great job in pulling off a win tonight, well done boys.

I just hope nobody comes on here and claims we have a huge star on our hands that could make us loads of money. The young lad got a goal, credit to him today. One step at a time though, it's a friendly. Would be brilliant if we have someone that could progress and play the odd bit, but it's not a Sam Hughes situation yet.

3-1 full time. It's great to see the Youth/trialists get us the win in the second half, which is really promising along with maintaining our unbeaten pre-season. I do know it's only pre-season, but it looks like we have a player in our hands in Harry White, with him netting another goal for us. He seems really good. Good result tonight, with another test tomorrow evening away at Alty! COYB.
