It's the negative tactics, particularly with set pieces, and the poor performances at home that are my main gripe with him. The sitting back and pumping long balls forward to 2 strikers who are barely touching 6ft playing up against big 6ft 2in brick shithouse centre backs. Never going to work is it.
When we get the ball down and play we look a good side. But we also need plenty of movement from the centre mids, looking to take the ball off the fullbacks and play a quick 1-2 to get the full backs into space in the oppositions half. Like I've said, Dawson at times needs a rocket up his arse as it seems to me that he ball watches. When he does get the ball just sometimes keep it simple instead of trying to ping a 30/40 yard ball forward as soon as he gets it. Just keep it simple, short, sharp passing, and when it gets congested in the middle or on the flank, switch the play and stretch the opposition. Use some bloody width.

Come on lads. We are remembering that JM has guided him from a Witton Albion loanee to a Premiership U23 player aren't we? Give him some credit.

He nearly ruined the lad by continually playing him out of position at right back, in order to play one of his best ever signings Hudson. To be fair, it was McCarthy who moved him from Central Midfield to Central Defence which eventually got him his big break. Sam Hughes: “I’ll take the gaffer and Sharpy’s [Ian Sharps] advice on where they think I should play and what is the best position for me. “Personally if I was to pick I would choose centre midfield but if it was to be centre half then that is fine with me. I will learn to play centre half.” link

Very constructive. You seem proud of this post as you keep posting it. It's not as hilarious and witty as you think. My post that McCarthy is incompetent is short and sweet and hits the nail on the head. I wasn't supposed to be "hilarious or witty". I am telling the truth. I have met the man and spoken to him at length and he is clueless about football matters.

Then only played him right back until the penny dropped that Hudson wasn't fit for purpose. After that he was undroppable.

OK we get your point but there is nothing constructive about it, you don't attempt to build an argument around it. Just repeating 'he is incompetent' adds nothing to any debate. And the fact that you have posted it a few times now suggests you are very proud of your views. Well done - we've all heard it now. I don't agree actually though whatever you think of him that he is 'clueless' about football matters. He's a well educated man with a former career as a professional footballer, hundreds of games played and some international performances. Plus an UEFA A licence. He's way more qualified and experienced than any of us to do the job... Look I'm not saying he's doing a good job at the moment, results would definitely indicate otherwise and I'm also not convinced that he has the ability to turn it round but 'clueless' he simply cannot be - think before you post please rather than spouting off unconstructive criticisms.

I had asked the Red Arrows if they'd consider doing a flypast This would have been a fantastic thing to see - really sad they declined. Perhaps someone could email Airbus and see if they could get the Beluga to take off just before kick off on Monday? any chance we could attach a mccarthy out banner to the tail of it and get it to circle the ground for an hour, the bellend would probably just stand there clapping and writing notes in his how to be a useless tosser manual

Macca and the lads have done wonders today but could very well be up against it on Monday, with a threadbare squad, let's get behind them from the off and give them full support for 90 minutes.
I've been critical of Macca but I would love him to prove me wrong. They've pulled off a worldie of a result today let's just back them Monday eh?

Shows the state we find ourselves in with this clueless manager that the club have deemed fit to unveil the begging bowl four games into the season. What a bell.

Regarding next Monday, have the club made any effort to try and do something to mark the 25th anniversary of the Deva being opened given it's the closest game in date to it? Seems a bit of a wasted opportunity if literally nothing is done. Strange how there's barely been a peep, even on the social media accounts. 25th anniversary is a big deal and there's probably some money to be made from it too We should have hammered this home, Mark the occasion by charging fans the price it was 25 years ago, market the hell out of it, produce retro shirts, get a Barbie on the go outside gasebo. So much could be done for this, I notice our friends up the road always to celebratory anniversary and hammer it to the full.

Even something as little as encouraging fans to wear retro shirts for Eastleigh game to mark occasion
