******#BlueMonday – it’s time…
There’s no pretending – it has been a frustrating few months with the lack of victories at the Swansway Chester Stadium.
Everybody at the Club is as desperate as all of our loyal fans to reverse our fortunes at home.
So it is, that we are reaching out to the people who we always seem to ask for help in times of need – our fantastic supporters!
We completely respect your frustration, your right to offer an opinion and your right to criticise. But, for 90 minutes on Monday, we ask you to turn up in your numbers. Let’s create an environment which will inspire the players to greater things, and to show the true passion and qualities of Chester FC fans.
We promise to do our bit, and the players understand their responsibility and the impact they can have in lifting the crowd – just like they did in the second half against Sutton on Saturday.
We genuinely appreciate all of your support – and three points on Bank Holiday Monday against Cheshire rivals Macclesfield would be the perfect way to kickstart a good run of results at home.
The Club are preparing hard for a busy Bank Holiday weekend of National League action – starting this Saturday at Aldershot.
COME ON YOU BLUES!****
------------------------------------------------------------------
Good statement by the club - looking forward to getting behind Macca & the boys this weekend.

Shows the state we find ourselves in with this clueless manager that the club have deemed fit to unveil the begging bowl four games into the season.

It's called a rallying cry. Good idea to try to get the fans behind the team rather than focusing on the manager. How depressing that someone is already trying to pour cold water over a genuine attempt to create a good atmosphere at home. God help us with fans like this.

Sorry, but I won't be there. I needed a holday, a rest from the frustration of it all. I implore the club not to daly. I remember Mad Terry relinquishing the reins after 26 games for Ian Aitkins to take over, but it was too late. He needs to be gone after 11 or 12 games unless there is a massive upturn, which seems a remote possibility.

I can't ever recall a club statement worded in that way, the cynic in me reads it and thinks the Club knows it's in trouble and is almost pleading with the fans to be "nice and polite" on Monday.
I, for one, will be there on Monday and am more than willing to give my vocal support providing it's warranted. I don't, and never will, hurl personal abuse towards the manager but would have no qualms about criticising him if I see more of the same.
Either way, it's really is a sorry state of affairs that it's come to this

Not enough has been made of us being shafted by the Solihull fixture. I do understand fans being frustrated at the poor home form from last season but I'm surprised by the strong reaction of some on here calling on fellow fans to boycott games. I can't help but think that if that Solihull game had been played and we had won 1 nil then we would currently be sitting 13th, not an amazing start but not awful.

Maybe some more attacking tactics by the manager would help as well

How many do they think will turn up when we get tossed by Aldershot on Saturday

I just think some 'fans' should stop damaging the club by boycotting or creating a toxic atmosphere. Trust the people we have elected to run the club to make good decisions and in the meantime support our players and staff, they obviously need it. It hurts that we haven't started this season very well but I couldn't imagine boycotting or verbally abusing our manager from the stands

How many do they think will turn up when we get tossed by Aldershot on Saturday Spare a thought for those of us daft enough to make that trip! With Euston closed and Waterloo partly closed it’s a pretty big diversion, currently street viewing the walk required between North Camp and Ash Vale. I know I’m nuts. Need to show some attacking intent and let the shackles off as it’s all been a bit meek and powderpuff so far with these defensive tactics. I’d accept it to an extent on Saturday obviously but not Monday. Can’t go in to home games like we have been.

It's a nice and very human statement from the club, but I still think "McCarthy leaves position as Chester FC manager" is the only statement needed. With all the will in the world, the supporters aren't going to be able to sort this problem out.

Regarding next Monday, have the club made any effort to try and do something to mark the 25th anniversary of the Deva being opened given it's the closest game in date to it? Seems a bit of a wasted opportunity if literally nothing is done.

Strange how there's barely been a peep, even on the social media accounts. 25th anniversary is a big deal and there's probably some money to be made from it too

Seems a bit of a wasted opportunity if literally nothing is done. I had asked the Red Arrows if they'd consider doing a flypast again to mark the occasion but sadly we missed out due to them leaving Hawarden Airport next Monday morning rather than the afternoon. Shame as that would've been a nice way to mark the anniversary and also with it being the Cheshire Derby but there you go. Hopefully the rallying call will work and get as many down there as possible. If we can start the game the way we played in the second half it would at least get the crowd all round the ground going.

Good see the club making a statement and showing some sort of empathy towards the situation. Although most of us wished the statement to be announcing the end of McCarthy's reign, taken on face value, it at least shows they are listening. All we can do is get down to the Deva on Monday and do our bit. It's a Cheshire derby and a massive game, even at this early stage of the season. If the performance is anything like it was on Saturday, and has been many times over the last 9 months, then people will be fully justified to voice their opinions and I would expect imminent action to end JM's tenure at that point. Let's be honest, they can't keep putting out rallying calls such as this if performances continue, expecting fans to turn out and hand over their £18. Ultimately this situation will only be resolved by JM changing his whole approach and us winning some games of football - that will bring fans back through the gate off their own free will. I'd like to think, based on this statement, this has been made absolutely clear to him. One win won't change anything for me, it's about what happens over an extended period of time, but we desperately need 3 points.

Can't believe I'm missing this one due to currently being on holiday in Spain (I know I'm crazy being gutted about that!!) but I'm helping the lads in the Harry Mac plan a few things. Flags, banners and all that. Get down and show your support.

I had asked the Red Arrows if they'd consider doing a flypast This would have been a fantastic thing to see - really sad they declined. Perhaps someone could email Airbus and see if they could get the Beluga to take off just before kick off on Monday?

Tarvin like yourself I hope that he has been told in no uncertain terms that a different approach must be adopted on Monday. Agreed that is shows that they are listening to the general discontent. Call me cynical but at the same time this is surely rather embarrassing this rallying cry. I agree that the Solihull postponement has shafted us somewhat. I still feel on the basis of the entirety of this year that we have already reached the enough is enough stage. Lack of action by the board thus far remains unacceptable. Any one who sees it differently just isn't in the real world?

Really glad of the intent to make Monday buzz. Many of us have watched Chester for many years and the have witnessed results being worse in previous years and I don't get the level of aggressive anger to the club/manager that some have.
I can see the failings of the manager at the moment and I still believe he can turn this round. The Players also have to take some responsibility too.
Still confident we can make something of this season.

Well written statement from the club, who have obviously been listening to the fans. I know that we are all frustrated, but we still need to get behind the lads so that we can help them to get the overdue home win. We can play a massive part. Hopefully it will happen on Monday against Macc. COYB.

I admire your optimism but cannot see this manager turning it around. It's only a matter of time for me before he is quite rightly shown the door, from his interviews to him having a go back at supporters on the touchline i dont get this "nice/likeable" persona either. He certainly doesn't come across that way to me anyway.

Fair play to the club but to give out a rallying cry so early in the season says it all really, I will go but if we are served up the same rubbish then that will be it for me until the club take action.
