To go from 4 strikers to 0 in 5 games is some achievement! Pure coincidence?

We've won one game of football, it proves nothing. Let's just enjoy a cracking, unexpected result!

Egg 🍳 on face time - humble pie oh well 😔 3pts though will be giving JM a contract extension if we win on Monday, that's some result when your hanging by a thread to stay in charge. Have to say well done but can we follow this up with a win on Monday?

A truly remarkable and very welcome result after a poor first half once again. But McCarthy deserves credit for making the changes at half time, which were surprising, yet ultimately effective. But before we all get too carried away, that was our first win in 12 league games home and away . I am now looking forward to at last seeing a much more positive and confident approach on Monday, and for the next two (winnable) away games, to prove that today was not a fortunate one off . I still feel that this is well beyond McCarthy capabilities ,but tonight he should be congratulated and be allowed to enjoy a rare success .

I wasn't at the match so can't comment on how we played but it's a fact that Aldershot hit the woodwork three times in the first half and apparently we hardly ventured over the halfway so before some happy clappers get carried away, lets see what happens on Monday.

Yes .... one swallow doesn't make a summer. I'll sleep well on the back of an unexpected away win, but we need to get a rare win against the Silkmen for it to be of any use.

Have only scanned through the pages on here tonight, sounds like we rode our luck first half but were much better in the second half. I respect your support in relation to McCarthy which seems to be regardless of results on the pitch, I do hope this can be the catalyst to push on and hopefully gain our first win at home this year against Macc. Have had a couple of shandies today and I don't know you from Adam but I can find you a little patronising and provocative on here. No offence meant by the way.

Have you thought that yours and others negative attitude is part of the reason we find it more difficult at home? So the fans are to blame then? They are certainly part of the problem, supporters at the away games seem to get behind the team a lot more and over the last 8 months or so the results away have been a lot better than the results at home. Go figure

Go figure I would agree with that to some extent. It's difficult to blame the supporters though. The disgruntlement that is evident is only as a desperate result of abysmal results and performances which are not the fault of the fans. Now however, the moanings starts pretty quickly and that is affecting the players. It's become a bit of a vicious circle now to be honest. I'm hoping once we break it with a couple of home wins then we can kick on. Picking up points at home is crucial to us.

We then had all the optimism over the summer, not a particular bad start, more just average and everyone is back on their backs. He deserves more than 4 games before the fans get on his back
