He is another incompetent individual.
He destroyed Stockport County and is now doing the same at Chester. He needs to go pronto along with the useless McCarthy.
He is the fool that recruits these turkeys.

Surprised you don't want to sack the Board as well ?
Goat alert ?

IMO whopper3 needs to win the award of first ban on dc2. Never seen a constructive comment, just boring drivel. There's moaners but at least they actually make good constructive, balanced comments i.e. tarvinblue

dmcnally are you brain dead ? you certainly are a fascist. I think u are fella. Maguire should have sacked McCarthy in the close season and Maguire should have walked himself. Both useless. I will continue to post my thoughts in a free society. Lets just ban everyone who is "boring" shall we. grow up. I think the difference between you and other negative posters is that you never have anything positive to say. It does suggest you are a WUM from another club. It is interesting that anyone who posts anything remotely critical about the Club is automatically labelled ”negative". Those "negative posters" you refer to, are as much fans of the club as yourself, and post because they care what is happening at our Club. Have you never heard of the concept of "critical friend" or even constructive criticism? I feel you should be less defensive and take the blue tinted blinkers off as not everything at the club it’s that rosy right now. It is entirely right at a fans owned club that attention is drawn to the shortcomings of McCarthy, MM and the indeed the Board . Apologies for the negativity.

On the one hand you agree with most of the criticism posted and then the next you are criticising those making the comments. Maybe that's your approach at being balanced!?

Although i disagree with a lot of what Tarvinblue says, he does say the odd positive thing, suggesting he is a Chester fan. Whopper, on the other hand, is a WUM merchant pure and simple in my opinion.

He is the fool that recruits these turkeys. What a load of balls. Maguire has secured loads of important sponsorship deals and has also done well with the Solihull fiasco and with the Sam Hughes deal, along with a list of other things. McCarthy was already manager before Maguire was here, and it is down to the board to sack McCarthy, not Mark.

He is the fool that recruits these turkeys. Don't agree at all. Excellent CEO doing a very good job in difficult circumstances. Maximising revenue. Engaging with fans. New and more profitable sponsorships. New website. Free video and audio coverage of all home and away games. Better communications. Difference between how Heneghan and Hughes transfers is just one (£130k) example of the the job he is doing. Incompetent? No.

Ok from what I am seeing reading and hearing it seems that MM has worked hard on various fronts. From seeing we get good money for Sam to trying hard to build our income up via various sponsorship deals etc. Unless we get significant investment the goal of building our budget up slowly to make us more competitive in this league will take time. MM seems to be starting such a process. He ought to be supported for this surely? To say he must go is absolute drivel IMO.

Depends if he was the one who offered McCarthy the 2 and a half year deal. Granted behind the scenes McGuire seems to be doing a good job but if he instigated the length of the contract then unsurprisingly he's backing his man at this stage otherwise his position also would become untenable.

Unfortunately the silence on this issue is telling. I would like to know if it was Mark Maguire’s professional recommendation to the board that McCarthy’s contract should have been extended ? if so, if McCarthy is removed, MM should also go. Surely as a fans run club it would be simple to provide a yes/no answer to this question.

I don't remember anyone complaining when it happened

I don't know if he was or wasn't behind the contract extension, whether it's a financial decision or he really does believe the manager can turn it around or not. Regardless if it was a good or bad decision to offer the contract extension we shouldn't be financially hamstrung by it and if we are then who really is accountable.

I don't remember anyone complaining when it happened I am very happy to accept that many of MMs initiatives, having exiting a long pipe , have been rather good . However JMs contract extension was a critical decision which has serious implications. If it were his professional recommendation, his advice to the board was questionable. Not only has performance of Mr McCarthy fallen well below reasonable expectations, but the contract itself appears to have been to the detriment of the Club (I.e. difficulty in paying JM off if things went wrong). I am assuming Board meetings in respect of major decisions are minuted, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for this matter to be cleared up, should it.

Maguire did some good work over the summer shifting season tickets and bringing in sponsorship. He clearly wears the trousers at the football club - he is the professional, advising a group of amateur enthusiasts after all. I've no doubt he will have advised the board regarding JM's contract extension and I'm pretty sure that he will be leading the situation regarding current affairs. My hope is that he has set very firm targets to the management team that he is waiting to see met. That would have been a very sensible approach, based on the results of last season, and would explain why there hasn't been a reaction as yet. For me, I was very critical of Maguire prior to the summer but I am willing to give him a chance based on the work he did over that period of time, which galvanised the support - until the football started again!

So, why did you feel the need to 'like' a comment which called MM incompetent and called for him to be sacked? Now that is bizarre. As regards my own views, I do have serious misgivings about the manager and thought he should have gone at the end of last season. But I try to look at the bigger picture, the financial implications, the thankless task that is being a board member when the team is not doing well. That's why I've said it's only fair to give him ten games. I'm also prepared to give credit where it's due (such as Aldershot second half).

That's why I've said it's only fair to give him ten games. I'm also prepared to give credit where it's due (such as Aldershot second half). To be fair, I hadn't realised that I had liked it as it's not a comment I agree with. It would be a comment I would have agreed with prior to the summer, however. I give credit as and when I see it is deserved. I don't sit on the inside in any way shape or form, having no relationship with any board member or insider, so my views are purely based on external perceptions. I realise that means I may at times be wrong, but for 90% of the fanbase external perception is what drives their views - down to whether they choose to attend on a Saturday. I gave the players credit for the Aldershot second half performance as, in my view, that was what changed the game - not anything JM did. It was the same in the second half at Sutton. When I see successful evidence of JM tactically preparing our side to go out and win football games, then I will credit him. I've not seen any evidence of that for 9 months. What concerns me is that, if he is spending the amount of time that is claimed preparing for matches, it isn't making a jot of difference to performances and results. As a fanbase, all we can do is hope that there is an imminent review of the managers performance, against objective criteria, and at that point the correct decision is made. If this form continues into October then we are doomed, unless a change is made.
