So tomorrow we face the mammoth trip of going to Torquay. Torquay are really struggling both on and off the pitch at the moment, and it presents us with a very winnable game. As most people have said, it is a must-win game which I agree with. I shall be traveling on the Hipkiss tomorrow, and I can't wait because Torquay is a lovely place with a nice ground. Come On Blue Boys! Score: Torquay United 0-2 Chester FC (Mahon, James) Attendance: 1,713 (180 Chester) COYB!

Fair play to you for going Rio, and to all the other travelling blues - that is some trip. Love your usual optimism so lets hope you're right. Personally I see a defeat another nail in the Macca coffin.

Should be winning this one. Torquay are in turmoil. Injury crisis too.
Torquay 0-2 Chester. Akintunde and Astles.
Attendance 1534 (101 Chester)

It's an absolute must win for the club and for JM. Defeat has to signal the end of his reign. If we can't win against Torquay, in the state they are currently in, who are we going to win against!? It's a long time until we play Aldershot again! I'm going for a 1-1 draw. Fair play to all the travelling fans - I hope you are rewarded.

No idea how we'll get on down there.
Torquay have lost their last 6 games. Letting in 19 goals while scoring 8.
Problem is, I can't see us going out and scoring 3. Especially in the likely event of only having 1 fit striker.
We should win this against a team at the foot of the table. The games against those around us at the bottom in previous seasons have kept us up. We've had a good record in them.
This game and Solihull on Tuesday will go a long way to determining JMc's future, and the rest of our season.
At a push 1-1. McCombe header.

Is Nat Brown travelling down? He is a forward? If not being used should be out on loan somewhere to get minutes.

Sounds like Torquay are having injury woes as well, but unlike us they've brought in three new players this week.
Think we'll lose 2-0. Both clubs in the doldrums, but they have home advantage and the incentive of impressing any new manager who might be watching.

I went to watch a 0-0 back in the late 90s Arrived 2.55, left 5pm, dreadful game Highlight was Neil cutler asking me the time behind the goal. Reckon it will be something similar tomorrow.

Yes it's must win. If the fans are cheesed off now, a defeat will see us looking for high bridges to jump off. A win buys time for Solihull only in my view.
I'm going to predict 2-0, James and Chappel. Will be really pi**ed off if we don't win.

Didn't Torquay have an "injury crisis" before we played them at Chester last season?
I think we all thought it would be an easy win, but ended up hanging on for a scrappy 1-0.
They do appear to be in turmoil at the moment though, so we simply must take advantage of the situation.
Solihull and Ebbsfleet will be much tougher.

I've never seen us lose at Plainmoor (6 visits) so fingers crossed that continues tomorrow. We even managed to pick up our first point of the 99-00 season there so its generally been a happy hunting ground for us over the past 20 years.
The pressure on McCarthy will reach new levels if we fall to defeat tomorrow. With the home form as it is these games become "must win" even at this stage of the season.

I've also got a gut feeling it will be a dour 0-0 with both teams being unable to muster any chances, which won't be received well.

A hard fought 2-0 win for the Blues. It's a good opportunity to put one or two of the young lads on the bench and give them a run out before we get involved in a relegation dogfight.

Going for a 0-1 victory, Mahon to score. Torquay to hit the crossbar five times, 165 Blues in attendance from a crowd of 1,700.

Yes, only one defeat there since 1997. That was two seasons ago and if I remember rightly it was the final nail in Steve Burr's coffin. A defeat today might well have similar consequences.

To give the team 3 days off after a defeat is a disgrace. I kinda want a defeat today just to get rid once and for all.
