Managed to get 15 at 6/1 and £20 at 4/1. Bignot is now 2/1

Bignot is now 5/4 favourite. My wager must've done it. Had a few bets on him now 💪🏼

What firms are currently offering odds on bignot? I could only find sky bet and bet victor? Think they're the only ones

What firms are currently offering odds on bignot? I could only find sky bet and bet victor? That's it, I think. Bignot has has now moved to 5/4 favourite. I'm guessing not a great deal of money is being put on this so the odds are jumping about a lot every time someone has a bet. Also, I'm wondering if it might be a good idea for CFU members to avoid betting on this?

Aye any CFU members would be in breach of football betting regulations but how can the FA police this?

I saw the odds last night and this random name was 6/1, presumed it was a typo. It' geninuely wouldn't surprise me one bit if this guy Higgins got put in charge, it's the type of thing that we would do. I was quietly confident yesterday when I saw the list of managers linked, even the ones I wasn't so sure on we're still of decent standard. But in true Chester style it's never straight forward. This is not a time to be taking chances on chancers with no experience at this level.

CFU members are "owners" of the football club and may have a vested interest or prior knowledge to any event and shouldn't actually be betting on ANY football full stop, according to FA rules. FCUM's board sought clarification about this a few years ago and then advised all of their members to refrain from any football betting. As I said though, would be nigh-on impossible to police.

We should put the whole CFU membership fees on the manager we are about to appoint, that would be a nice squad builder. Go for Andy Holden at 14/1 with a 10k stake equals a nice 150k return #kerching.
This was said in jest.......

Except we don't, apart from a handful in executive and decision-making positions, have and inside info or any more vested interest than any other fan. And further, if it can't be policed anyway why are you telling people not to bet? anyway, provide a link to the FCUM advice on this. Very interested to see it.

If Bignot is that good then why haven't Barrow took him on? Location most likely. He's helping his mate Micky Moore on interim terms and will leave soon to get closer towards Solihull.

He's from Frodsham but is currently coaching in America and doing well by all accounts. Played for Macclesfield in the Football League and has links to Man City through his coaching with New York City FC. He's applied for the job as he's looking to move back home (currently living in New York but expecting another child) and is currently the only known applicant who has an interview with the board (via Skype). Oh Mate, you really haven't got a clue have you hahaha! Trust me they're not expecting another child haha

Wouldn't want him as our manager, looks to have a very impressive coaching cv though to be fair to him. However we've just sacked a good coach but poor manager in Macca. Wonder if he'd fancy a assistant manager role if someone like Bignot does come in. Although whoever comes in as manger shouldn't have a forced hand in terms of assistant.

That's either been written by himself under a pseudonym or a mate on his behalf.

We need someone who knows the Conference inside out. I've often wondered how a decent League 1 or Championship manager would fare without that knowledge of players, opponents, pitches etc

My word this IS a very elaborate wind-up! It is like some sort of outrageous PR stunt, like he's eventually just going to admit that he's setting up a used car service on Bumpers Lane and wanted to drum up some publicity for it.

Or.. just a thought mind. With a young family to support and as an obscure football or has he calls it "soccer" coach he wants to earn as much as he can. So what does he do in order to earn more money? Gets a few friends and family to put a few hundred quid on him to be the next boss, drops his odds right down so that he, temporarily at least, becomes favourite. Gets another mate back home to write a very obscure article trying to big himself up. Back home he fools nobody, but then he's not trying to fool us, it's all about adding us onto his CV, which has just risen slightly in stock being named bookies favourite for the job.
For him it's a win-win situation, for us it's an inconvenience.
