This sort of dodgy candidate could only happen to us. 😳
Let's steer well clear.

I used to do some coaching for Connah's Quay Nomads Academy and I was probably better qualified, than this chancer. lol Managing some girls team, in the States, is no substitute for managing, in the National League.

Let's be honest, the board that we trust to appoint the next manager isn't going to take a chancer like this seriously. If they were to, then I would be all for calling an EGM and voting the lot of them out. However, I have no doubt that they will have found this as amusing as we all have. As someone posted above, only at Chester would we end up with a comedy character running as second favourite for the manager's job!

Or.. just a thought mind. With a young family to support and as an obscure football or has he calls it "soccer" coach he wants to earn as much as he can. So what does he do in order to earn more money? Gets a few friends and family to put a few hundred quid on him to be the next boss, drops his odds right down so that he, temporarily at least, becomes favourite. Gets another mate back home to write a very obscure article trying to big himself up. Back home he fools nobody, but then he's not trying to fool us, it's all about adding us onto his CV, which has just risen slightly in stock being named bookies favourite for the job. For him it's a win-win situation, for us it's an inconvenience. Quite possibly. I definitely reckon it's a PR stunt of some kind rather than a genuine attempt to become Chester FC manager. It does show how easy it is for anybody to create a ripple on the internet, which is both fantastic and frightening at the same time. The blog, on a site that only had one previous entry, does look like it was written by a mate, and the post about him on DC1 has been started by a brand new member. Even on here, there seem to be one or two new members doing their best to rake up dirt about Bignot (the only man standing between Higgins and the job, if you believe SkyBet!). I'm wondering if he has a friend or several friends over here doing a bit of what's called "reputation management" on his behalf? Part of me thinks fair play to the guy, but I'd rather he kept my club out of it! In any case, I've enough faith in the board to believe they're not even entertaining the thought of making him manager, so I'm not exactly angry. I am finding it kind of fascinating though!

If he's appointed its EGM time and we'll have to remove the entire board and sack McGuire.

Hearing this is a genuine application I've no doubt he has applied for the role, but I think his main intention is to make a name for himself, not to actually become CFC manager.

Remember that odds don't simply tell us what's likely to happen, but where the money's going. That's why England are always at such ridiculously short odds to win World Cups - the bookies need to take their liability into account when all these patriotic bets come in.
It's the same here I suspect - someone has put a big sum on Higgins just to boost his profile. It looks like both SkyBet and Bet Victor have now ceased taking bets on the matter, which suggests to me that it's either all sewn up or they suspect foul play.

I think there's more chance we employ Shaw as manager than Higgins. Neither will happen. I wonder if Shaw or McIntyre will apply for it?
