A coach in America from Frodsham apparently, no experience of managing in England. Not what we need. Probably a leak by someone who wants the odds on his actual choice to be bigger.

He's from Frodsham but is currently coaching in America and doing well by all accounts. Played for Macclesfield in the Football League and has links to Man City through his coaching with New York City FC. He's applied for the job as he's looking to move back home (currently living in New York but expecting another child) and is currently the only known applicant who has an interview with the board (via Skype).

Source? Surely on the wind up. Utter utter bollocks. Candidates haven't even been shortlisted yet so not sure how interviews have been dished out.

BetVictor have Marcus Bignot as the favorite to be the new manager, I think that's more likely at this stage.

It's true that SkyBet have made him 8/11 favourite though. A strange development.

It's all far too strange. A complete nobody of a coach, nevermind a manager!??
I thought we might have one or two randoms thrown into the mix like a Paul Carden, or such like but him, and been made odds on favourite!? Not even close it's a clear favourite.. just far too strange for me. If the board have any sense whatsoever they will appoint Marcus Bignot if Graham Barrow doesn't fancy it. Not this random jobber.

It's strange, but as cestrian1987 says it could just be the bookies reacting to a fake tip-off, or some idiot who's got his wires crossed and put an absolute wedge on him. If there was anything in it you'd think BetVictor would've mirrored it but they have Bignot as 2/1 favourite.

There has been contact with Maguire via Skype but I believe the board are just humouring him. My mate knows his brother and it's all genuine but I do wonder where Skybet have got the info from to slam him in as odds-on favourite.

Yet there is no limit on Higgins If someone wanted to bet on him at 8/11 I also would not put a limit on how much money they could bet.
