I'd have given Barrow the job personally. Bignot's CV is pretty poor. Done sod all of any significance as a Manager. Whopper you tedious fart - He won Conference North 2015/16 you really are an irritating scrote So did Neil Young, only with record points and goals, so that isn't a great reason to appoint him!

Good luck to Marcus - only time will tell as always but I'm right behind him as are all Chester FC fans. Bring on Saturday and lets get some positivity going through a home win!

Living near Solihull Moors I have seen first hand the way he built them up and transformed things on and off the field. If he is able to replicate something along the same lines for us we will do ok. In fact having seen what he can do I am hopeful bordering on excited that he just could be the man to bring some happier successful times to our club. Heaven forbid, be careful! This "glass half full" attitude might just catch on and who knows where that could lead! I can't believe some of the posts on here on what should be the most positive day in recent weeks, indeed months whether they're wind-ups or not I hope they are wind-ups but suspect they could not be. Let's hope he does well for us or I could well be in for some stick on here as I have strongly suggested we should appoint him. I know we are not in the best position when you look at the table but surely it's time for all to try and be positive and back the new manager and the team. I see in another thread a squad builder has been suggested. Wouldn't object to that.

Our for fathers have fought for free speech. I will give Bignot a chance but I think he will ultimately fail as his record is dodgy to say the least. So will you give him a chance? How many matches before you are calling for his head on a spike? Probably Saturday @ 4.

I'm fully behind Marcus but I hope supporters won't be too disappointed if we fail to win on Saturday. I've said it before and I'll say it again I feel our first home win will come against Woking.

For the nutters on here having a go at me I say the following:
I called for McCarthy to be sacked weeks ago and thank the lord he has gone.
I have called on Maguire to be sacked and he should go soon hopefully. He is incompetent.
I have not asked for anybody else to be sacked.

Some really positive words from my second fave Chester manager of all time. After reading that I'm optimistic that Chester made the right decision today. Could the club get Atkins back for guest of honour for one game this season please? He nearly achieved the impossible in 2000 under untenable circumstances and deserves recognition from the club.

WOW - not asking for anyone to be sacked is almost like giving the dreaded vote of confidence. I am sure that many CFC employees will sleep a lot better tonight.

Tom Shaw of last season in a different class from Wade Joyce...but he's a bit of a fat lad now. Will MB replace Joyce with the currently unfit Shaw for Saturday? Anybody care to speculate on likely changes for the next match, formation or players.

If, as a Wrexham fan, I could offer just one little piece of advice to Marcus Bignot it would be... Consider renting rather than buying a house. You don't know how long you might be here for.

Good sound advice on getting the most economical domestic dwelling. I am sensing by your post you are quite savvy in these things and also wouldn't touch a mortgage.
I reckon you are a rent boy myself.

No mortgage. Thinking of a second home now. Or a holiday apartment on a complex with a swimming pool on a good bus route. You're paying off McCarthy over 2 years. The new guy is going to be on a decent wage. Your home crowds have gone down the last two seasons.. Speaking of rent? You're on Council ground......

Good for you, I hear what you are saying about a holiday apartment, if you sell your home in Wrexham you could put the extra couple of hundred quid towards a sea view too. Not sure what the connection is between that and paying off the ex manager is though, but since you mentioned it, are Wilkin and Mills all paid up by now? And for the record, yes we do pay rent to the council, that's usually how these things work, it's quite an amicable agreement I think for the next fifty years or so at least. wonder what will happen to your place when the uni runs out of cash, which if the Labour Party get in next time around and scrap tuition fees will happen rather quickly.....
