If Mahon and Akintunde need scans then tell us fans rather than this "everyone is fit" yarn. People like myself would be happy to contribute to their private treatment. Could the club confirm so we can help?

Akintunde has had rehab at St George's. I'm pretty sure part of that would have involved some sort of scan. How can they rehab when they don't know what or how severe the injury is? I don't get all the secrecy around injuries though. Maybe a case of Macca over thinking things.

I think Macca got it totally wrong today, he worked on the basis that good performances should warrant a starting place which I applaud but it went horribly wrong. Four centre mids on at one point, Lloyd at left back, all bizarre decisions. There have been debates about whether Horwood can play LB and whether Kane should start given his poor form, but in any case Macca needs to get back to basics. It was awful viewing but Macca will learn and this team will bounce back. Can't believe people are questioning Macca's appointment, saying Horwood and George aren't conference standard after they put in MOM displays last week and debating whether we will stay up!! What a joke. And anyone who thinks it's reasonable to boo one poor home performance needs to get a grip. On the plus side a special mention should go to Jim Green on getting the kids in, and to the few lads on the Harry Mac who tried to create some sort of atmosphere, feel really sorry for them, where were the 1500 extra home fans that were at the Wrexham game?! Only ONE poor home performance ? How many home games have you attended ? If what you believe is true ,then why are attendances 1000 down on when we were in the in the league below ?

Just reading the Chronicle on line and shocked to see my post from this thread quoted. Rio and a few others quoted. Made my day lol. Would have preferred a win though ☹️

Spot on, a small minority on here are a bit too quick to rubbish some of our players. We have had a couples of players who have been fairly consistence for the majority of the season. The club received offers for them in Jan 17 but not enough for them to be released. Some of the others have not been as consistent and will remain in the Conf with Chester or other clubs with similar budgets, a few will have to drop down or go on load. Last week we were excellent and lost, this week we poor and lost, that's football. No need to throw the towel in. The management team made some errors, 4 - 5 players had poor games and they know it. Gateshead were the better team over 90 mins. That's no reason to pick out individuals and slate them, suggest they Evo-stick players or suggest they are not fit to wear the CFC shirt. I thought Mark Maguire gave a very good interview before the game that was honest about where we are and how this is a developing side and club who have a 2 year plan.

I heard today that both Mahon and Akintunde need scans because the reasons for their injuries cannot be diagnosed, but the club can't afford them. Not sure why they can't get done on the NHS, but surely this is an item that comes under the heading "emergency". Could someone from the club (Alan) please elucidate. Have you had a trip to the hospital or doctors lately. There is a waiting list as long as Ian rush's nose to get in to see anyone. They could be waiting months. I beleive that the PFA would cover this as medical cover/treatment is provided to members. I don't know if PFA membership extends down to part time national league

I've attended every home game this season and missed only four away games. Get over your hysteria and have a look at the results table. Yes I'll accept we were poor at home to Solihull last month but before that we've only lost three home games, two of which were against the best teams in the league where we gave a decent account of ourselves and one was at the start of the season when the team was still gelling. I'm not making excuses for Saturday's performance it was really poor, but in my opinion anyone who booed is really lacking in perspective. The debate about why attendances are down has been had a million times over and I'm not going to go over it again just because we lost a game at home ffs. What I will say though is that in the 18 home league games Macca has been in charge, we have scored more goals and won more points than in the 21 league games Burr was in charge for last season, yet attendances are still down.

Our home record ,so far reads w 6. d 3, l 5. which ,on admission is average . But it doesnt tell the whole story . we regularly only play with one striker and invite teams to attack us in home games which frankly is disappointing . If the team play an unattractive game people are less likely to come to games

Just switch it to 442 and play actual wingers in wide areas to create and support the front 2. We might actually get at sides then. Let's make no mistake, Gatehead were there for the taking on Saturday. Fyfield - their left back(?) was one of the worst footballers I've ever seen - first half we put pressure on him and saw how woeful his distribution was. When that calamitous 2nd half was going on our midfield were so deep it was ridiculous. How many times did we revert lumping long balls forward to Alabi who ended up having 3 shirts around him? The lad didn't have a chance, and it just kept putting us under more and more pressure.
The changes were too late in the game, Kane coming on put Gateshead on the back foot at bit more due to his pace and was unlucky with his chance late on, but make no mistake that was a shocking performance second half.
And I've still not seen us win this season!

I was interested in seeing the difference in the reaction to Saturdays, lets be honest, dreadful performance. For me, barring the odd one, its been relatively balanced and civilised on here. Its decent to see people disagreeing with each other yet not falling out.
I look on the other side to see a thread about Luke George who was poor, but talk about over-reaction.

Aye he was but he was one of many poor performers on the day, harsh to single just him out.
Only one I could excuse was James Alabi who put a real shift in on his own upfront. I felt for the lad in the end. Constantly having a long ball thrown in his general direction and then having to contend with 3 Gateshead shirts around him when it got anywhere near him. Even his only chance of second half he had to create it all for himself with little to no support. Quite how the sponsors picked Blaine Hudson for MOTM I don't know!

Yes we have Riot, but our recent home record is very average/poor with only 2 wins in the last 8.

I think we just expected to see a better performance I saw no lack of effort from the players it was just like they didn't know where they should be playing so we just dropped deeper and they had some good lads running with the ball which put us in trouble. We need to move on now and get a big performance from the lads on Saturday

Felt a bit for the manager today. He needs someone to bounce off and to offer ideas and again today Iwelumo was absent. Im sorry but I have to question that appointment. Quite a few 5s and a couple of 4s there today, but if we took 2 good chances were out of sight after an hour. However seeing the clock end like that, and the wonderful scenes at half time, makes me very confident about what Jim Green and Andy Ruscoe are doing off the field. Onto next week... McCarthy spent more time talking to the 4th Official on Saturday than he has done to Iwelumo since he's been here. Absolutely shocking appointment.

It's a tad embarrassing when even the likes of north ferriby have an assistant manager yet ours isn't about again, it's to regular of an occurrence he is missing for my liking. Macca to nice of a bloke to disagree.
