Thought their two centre backs were excellent. Apart from that, they didn't offer much at all but found a way to win the game. 'Streetwise' is probably a fair description - and for all the hard luck stories we seem to have, we could do with some 'mucky' wins.

Really harsh on you boys that result, we really didn't deserve them 3 points tonight. If I remember correctly at start of season you went away to a couple of places and the woodwork rescued you a few times? (If I'm thinking right here) maybe tonight the luck just happened to turn the other way for you. What I will say, you boys won't go down if you play how you did tonight for most of the season, though you may of only got that performance as it I was a derby game but idk. From outside looking in, Halls is awful, James is a shadow of the player he used to be and Akintunde was anonymous all game for you. Dawson seems to be an alright footballer, Hannah looked clever in his movement tho is also nowhere near the same player he was. Archer given time, I think will come to be your best striker as well. Good luck for the rest of the season until we play you again. I'm more than certain you'll stay up. Chester supporter alert . What utter rubbish . The best team won remember the one that scored the goal then kept Chester out. I agree that our final 3rd is hopeless and our goal keeper a clown but we bosses you all over the pitch and to be honest I thought you had a few individually good players but the rest are hoofball merchants. I don't think you will get relegated this season as I don't think we will get promoted unless Keates sorts out our forwards . Behave CF. Love nothing more than beating Jester, but I'm man enough to give credit where it's due. They were better, we were woeful barring Manny, Pearson & Akil. Other than those 3 we were woeful tonight. We luckily came away with the 3 points. But I bet we play better than that this season and still lose.

Overall, I think a draw would have been a fair result against an ugly, functional and flairless team who will possibly bore and grind their way to promotion probably via the playoffs. However, looking back on tonight as best I can, I'm beginning to think that the major factor hindering our progress is BELIEF. Belief in our ability to both compete and play against teams and WIN matches. MB is obviously trying to instil this into the team but I suspect there's a residual caution and negativity within the players' mindset that's making this a big task. When he DOES get through to the players e.g the H/T talk tonight and the belief is there (albeit temporarily) we are capable of playing decent football, creating chances etc although we need even more belief within our strikers to capitalise on them! In short, there's enough in this team NOT to be scared of the opposition, we are quite capable of dictating play and gaining our rewards from our dominance as evidenced by tonight's second half. Problem is, the belief issue needs to be resolved ASAP, time is marching on. It will click soon, MB will make sure of it but the players need to BELIEVE, not just in MB but THEMSELVES. It WILL happen! Spot on. It's a hangover from the CuckCarthy regime where every team we played against were amazing and we were lucky to be on the same pitch as them and we're punching above our weight and this is where we are as a club and we should aim to only concede one goal a game and we are always playing fantastically and I'm not criticising my players and so on and so forth.

I predicted it would be 100 either side of 4,000.
Massive support. Absolutely massive support. Pubs are packed with fans celebrating on High Street. The last train came in twenty minutes ago.
Alley Alley Alley O Alley Alley Alley O Wrexham F.C we're the Red army!

We have to start winning games soon or the gap will be simply too big to close.
There is no doubt that Bignot has inproved us with his signings and regime, but I do fear that the dire injury situation and poorer squad members will end up costing us.
Halls is a liability and ironically it was his awful pass that ended up injuring Halls-Johnson who took his place. Hannah, Mahon and James are shadows of their former selves. McCombe, White, Turnbull have been massive disappointments and other players like Bell, Zanzala, Davies, Joyce & Waters are simply not good enough.
Bignot has a massive job to keep us up now imo.

No doubt you povs will be pissing your giros up against the wall in celebration in that hell hole where you have the unfortunate pleasure of living tonight. Oh and it’s “Allez”. However, I bet that the only time you’ve been in a different country is this evening so you wouldn’t need to learn another language. 1200 hundred massive? Laughing at you!

Less than 3000 home fans isn't particularly massive either. Sad to see all the empty seats in the home areas.
Close game. Our defence carried us through and not for the first time this season. Draw might have been a fairer result but ill take It!
Good luck for the rest of the season (game at the Racecourse notwithstanding)

Wrexham fan in peace (honest ) I think a draw would have been a fair result but that's football. If Chester play half as well tonight as they do all season you have nothing to worry about. On the second half alone I think you deserved it a bit more but thankfully for me, you didn't. From a Wrexham perspective I think Pearson is one of the best players in the league,is a major reason we are near the top and has a great partner in Manny. Beyond that we were nothing special tonight. Chester failed to take advantage of Dunn's indecisiveness at crosses, had a bit of bad luck with a penalty and maybe a red card for Wedgebury (I think outside a derby that could have been red). I thought Boden, Dunn ,Massanka and Jennings were largely anonymous for Wrexham. Similarly I thought Lynch (kicking in particular), Astles, Hannah and James weren't at the game today. Akintunde, Archer, Turnbull and Dawson looked like solid players at this level. Looks like letting Archer go was a mistake on Wrexham's behalf. Hopefully you can build on this and take points off our rivals so we can finally get to league 2.ooh and you stay in this league for now 😜

I thought that we did deserve something at the very least. In the first half we looked quite shaky, but got into the game eventually and got stuck in. I must say, the goal was a blatant dive which should not have stood at all. However, it was a basic mistake by Ryan Astles which made them score. He should’ve been concentrating right on Pearson and clearing the ball away. We played really well in the second half. As has been the case lately, we put in another promising performance without any points. We created good chances, played good football and stretched Wrexham’s players out. On another day we wouldn’t have hit the woodwork twice; we would’ve put them in the back of the net. I tend to disagree with some over the penalty incident. For me, it was a clear penalty. Holroyd stuck both of his hands out to stop the ball from travelling. Even Dean Saunders and Michael Owen said that it was a definite hand-ball. Not to mention that the referee was awful as well. Ignoring the deliberate dives/timewasting whilst making multiple incorrect decisions. It is a sharp bite in the neck, to lose to our rivals when we deserved something out of the game. I’m sure in the upcoming future that we will get ‘another one over them’. Fair play though, their defence is very strong and would take some beating to score past them. However, Wrexham have very little firepower which could end up to be the Achilles heel. They certainly didn’t look like a side who are ‘’joint-top’’, but more like an ordinary team. Maybe there was one or two little scuffles, but I’m delighted that the derby passed without any real trouble. We may have lost, but I feel that we have our derby back... at long last!

Ok we lost but we lost with dignity, if the team had not tried I would have been upset but they battled and wore the shirt with pride, everything that needs saying has been said reading the thread but the ref was a cock tbf even my little lad asked if he was on drugs lol. Watching MB on the touch line I could see his frustration and I am sure he is the right man to take us forward and will get us out of the mess JM has left us in, Archer looks a little raw but he is going to be a gem. You know what I have never felt this good losing to Wrexham and think MB is the man that will help us out of the mire JM left us in.

Thwarted by the referee and the woodwork....and a very average team of players (except two defenders) that would have keeled over if you sneezed too close to them. Wrexham have the dubious honour of out-performing Barrow last season in that department. Some call it being streetwise but it’s not in the spirit of the game and referees (with linesmen’s help) should clamp down on it.
I’m not saying there isn’t plenty of room for improvement on our side but if there’s any fairness in the world, continuing to perform like that should see us through this season (and Wrexham not make the play offs).
Last night could have been a lot worse and we shouldn’t let it get us [too] down.

We also need a centre back, a right back and a proper winger in order to be able to use a system that gets the best out of our players. Time to beg, borrow and steal some more...

Definitely deserved something from that. Played the better football but just couldn't make the most of the periods we were on top and that but if luck eluded us. Hannah worked his nuts off but unfortunately was never close enough to Archer which left him against a seasoned centre half in Pearson who him well marshalled. Hall Johnson going off was a huge blow, he gives us quality deliveries and energy and I'm convinced if he had stayed on we would have asked some more questions of them. Wrexham are a limited team but have two quality centre backs and get men behind the ball and that serves you well in this league. What will trip them up is that they have zero creativity and no goals in them. A headed goal off a set piece is like porn to them. RHJ out for 6-8 weeks so that’s his loan over.

Need a couple of scruffy wins now . . . Bromley and Orient both away look daunting. Didn't deserve to lose last night. On their current form I wouldn’t call Orient a daunting trip, no more so than most other away games anyway given they’ve slipped to just above the bottom four. I’m not particularly confident we can win either there or at Bromley but it’s vital we get another victory soon.

How we didn’t beat the Povs I will never know! Should’ve done them four one. Please bin Harry White off, he makes Hobson look like Pele. Akintunde should’ve stayed on, he had the Povs chasing shadows. Funniest part of the match was seeing two POVs from Wrexham in the west stand trying to keep quiet. One had absolutely filthy clothes on and one had half a haircut. Stood out like a sore thumb. Probably Devachat’s resident T@@@ G n R with his bird. Oh and Wrexham fans those bucket hats are embarrassing. You look like you’ve had a dip in a school jumble sale bin bag. Ha......defeat hurts...... I do you feel sorry for the many decent Chester supporters (clearly you are not one of them) - you were unlucky last night and outplayed us for 75% of the game. Keep playing like that and you will not get relegated. Did like the look of Archer as well. I do feel sorry for the decent supporters having to put up with the stench from the sewage farm - awful.

You will be telling me next all Chester supporters are on fantastic salaries, live in mansions, never shop in Poundland and all that! I am sure a fair few of your supporters are from Blacon and the Lache, although I understand most are Welsah and from Flintshire? My mate joined me in the pub to see Chester for the first time last night. He's a Belfast lad and used to following Man United. He was dreading watching a game at this level and was really surprised how entertaining it was. When I said I was gutted at the end he said I shouldn't be because we played well and was impressed how well we played given the new manager has only had half a dozen matches to sort things out.
