So much can be said about the difference between first half and second but truthfull we've not been a threat to the Daggers goal in either. Hard to recall a save their keepers had to make. Second half Dawson and James have been absolutely annihilated in the centre and their second goal giving Ferrier that much space on the edge of the box is shocking. Defence so vulnerable it's insane. This league is so weak but we are one of the weakest. Bell did nothing first half when we were on top and that doesn't help, but bringing on Astles isn't the answer for me! All in all I'd go as far as saying if we don't win 5 from 6 over Christmas were down. Guiseley, Solihull and Macc are all must wins now. Not a chance of winning all them mate.

Appalling. Heartbreaking to watch. Had to leave.
McCombe is a donkey of the highest proportion. Lynch has no presence at all and command of six yard box is non-existent.

Struggling with a live thread first half and what was on offer was drab, uninspiring and must rank with one of our worst performances. I can't see one player there with any creativity. All pedestrian. Until today I remained positive....

Nobody can defend this garbage now. Bignot appointment was a shocker and yet again Maguire has blood on his hands.

Can see us getting embarrassed here, 0-3 crowd 1,479. Wouldn't go that far, this league is much of a muchness, take Torquay winning at Sutton the other night for example. In fact, Dagenham's away record is identical to our own. It was never in doubt for me that we'd get murdered today. The team is clueless, the manager has been thrown at the deep end. Just have to accept we're going down.

Far too many defenders ball watching for their first, Rowe-Turner ball watching again for their second... gave up after that.... Can't defend for crap...

Thoroughly depressing.
Having now watched Chester's last 3 games, today's was easily the most shocking.
Halls should never be allowed to wear a Chester shirt again. Directly responsible for two of their goals.
Bell is lazy and should be sent back.
I don't think Dawson passed the ball forward all game.
Lynch needs a break
Rainey can go back.
Basics - I counted at least 5 times in the game that we threw it straight to the opposition.
And unforced errors were numerous.
And putting Astles on up front for the last half hour is frankly embarrassing.

Honestly don't know where we go from that.
The only positive I can cling to is that the parallels between this and the Atkins season are continuing. Atkins inherited a terrible side and it did take him a while to get going, it was the battering against Brighton that lead to a change of form. Maybe that was the Brighton moment? But it's going to take a monumental effort to keep us up.
Two weeks without a fixture now, and we need it.

Guiseley and Solihull are dreadful but we don't have the quality to beat them IMO! We could do with Archer, Astles and Halls-Johnson. Back ASAP (Astles in the defence)

I suppose there are three alternative takes on our 'set up' now:
1. Poor players but good manager 2. Poor players and poor manager 3. Poor manager but good players

What an abysmal second half. We're just so weak and lightweight all over the pitch. I said 6 weeks ago that we are going down. I'm now certain.

Embarrassed to have witnessed that second half. Some of those players need to have a good look at themselves. Dawson, Halls, Gough and Bell in particular were absolutely shocking. Says something when your centre forward is replaced by a centre half. Decent first half but didn't create anything and as soon as they went up a gear we crumbled. It's going to take something miraculous to turn this round. We looked like a school team, typified by Hannah putting his head down and shooting every time he got the ball and his continued failure to understand the offside rule. Made a team that hasn't won away since August look like Barcelona. Silly penalty and we never recovered - Halls made absolutely no attempt to cut the cross out and Gough was ball watching. Worrying how heads went down after that. Have a week off next Saturday but not sure what Bignot can do. We just have to stick with him and hope for a break somewhere.

It’s dificult to fine anything positive from today’s game. On the strength of it we haven’t got a prayer of staying in this league.

Poor manager but good players The thing is you can't really judge the manager because he's taken over a shocking team with zero budget. It's likely MB would pick very different personell, quite possibly playing very different systems if he had built his team from scratch, but we'll never know. At this point just got to ride it out. He seems to be able to wheel and deal a bit but he's shopping in the bargain bin.

Don't want to single anyone out but he epitomises the problems in this squad. McCombe as captain is an issue as well, I think. Not only is he playing poorly, but he comes across as a bit of a shy and reserved character. Don't think he's captaincy material at all.

Agree on Halls. Everyone is entitled to a poor game but with him it's every second match. He's just not a very good defender. No clean sheets for 9 games now and the last one at Tranmere was only down to their poor finishing. Defence needs an overhaul.

How can you blame him?
We are a mess on and off the field, Bignot has inherited a fetid carcass of a squad with players unfit, unbalanced, and just piss poor. Oh and we've just lost a shit load of money in the process before we brought him in.
These lads he's brought in are on peanuts, absolute peanuts, there's no budget left, it was pissed up the wall by the board authorising the cockless wonder McCarthy to blow it all on the shit.
It's not Bignot's fault we are were we are. It's a succession of weak boards who have just allowed it all to happen.
We're going down

It's easy to say things like "he's out of ideas", "why's Astles coming on up front?" but does anyone have any better suggestions? He's working with what he's got, and it's not enough.
