Funny though, we have spent five years at war with each other, devalued the pound by 20%, savaged our economy, quit the worlds largest free-trade zone, created a mountain of red tape and flushed £200bn down the drain all to “control our borders” - whereas six EU member states did it in 24 hours with nothing more than a press release. For those wondering why those six member states have banned travel from the U.K. but the entire EU hasn’t... it’s because EU member states are sovereign and can make their own decisions and laws independently from each other. Oops.

Farage and the Brexiteers going ape shit about the French exercising their democratic right and controlling their borders This is the logical conclusion of where Brexit leads. And the disruption looks like the new normal. 3 US papers leading on Chaos in the channel. From abroad we are looking like a ' Third World' country and a laughing stock. At least the US are exrcising their demons.

The French will only be able to use the covid card for so long, won't be long until their hospitals are running short of medical supplies and other critical products they rely on the UK for, imo big businesses will ensure this bullshit border shutdown is only temporary. And then comes the pressure on them from the other EU member states. If it carries on, we will most likely bypass France and move goods via other important EU ports anyway

For example, the UK is the 3rd largest supplier of medicinal products in the world. Behind USA and Switzerland. So no, we are not as reliant on them as they are on us for such a critically needed supply. There are other examples, but I'd have to research, only really know the inside story on medicinal products because I work for a company who makes them

“Plague Island” is all over the socials pal.
I obviously wasn’t referring to my own children in the above post, it was a collective description “our” - because, unlike you, I actually care about people who have been dealt a bad hand and are worse off than me. Suppose that is what separates us buddy.

Don’t be forgetting the German car industry either. I couldnt care less about the car industry, and cant be bothered arguing with someone who thinks they know everything about brexit. Wow, are there any other industries that support families through employment and sustain our economy you couldn't care less about too?

Probably a really poor one that saves Boris's ass. Is that the guy who has always wanted a no deal Or he has been playing to the European Research group and Farage and knows that a no deal tanks the UK economy. Personnally, I want Brexit taken to its logical no deal conclusion, so that it takes the Toriez down with it.

Deal or not, it's already failed really hasn't it? A week away from it being set in stone and we still have no idea what's going on. How are businesses meant to "get ready for Brexit" in the week between Christmas and New Year?
Brexit voters more than anyone should be furious at Boris Johnson. It's alright for me, I knew it was a bloody stupid idea and wouldn't work. If you actually believed in it, I don't get why you would be so passive about the whole thing.

You are an asset to your company, how you keep making those Senior level decisions in your Global company i don't know. If i had a cap on i would doff it to you.

Sections of the media will no doubt praising for pulling his last minute "Christmas miracle" deal out of the bag, but the illusion masks the reality that he has prolonged and worsened the situation.

Pal is a term of endearment, we are all friends here aren’t we? As for your other point, of course it’s not wrong to prioritise your immediately family (I presume that’s what you mean by “my own”) but you can still show empathy you know. Your posting history would suggest you lack that human trait, I could be wrong.
