BREXIT

Pretty much any survey will tell you immigration was the main reason people voted Brexit. That and not wanting our rules to be made in Brussels, which is basically the same argument - too many foreigners.

The problem with both arguments is that the country with the most immigrants is the non-EU Switzerland, so clearly simply not being in the EU doesn't stop immigration, and we've seen this year with border closures that countries are able to make their own decisions. I had to do a project on motoring laws in the EU earlier this year and it quickly became apparent that there are no two states in the EU with the same laws, so I don't really get where this argument comes from that Brussels is controlling everyone's laws. All Brexit has done is made the UK a more miserable place to live and restricted our own rights to move around Europe, let alone Europeans' rights to move here.

I don't think he's calling for border control and work permits to come into force for people looking to work on the opposite side of the border.

There's a argument that more small autonomous nations is the way forward, but with better cooperation between them. It seems like the big ones like the UK, the US, Russia, China, Brazil etc have the most division and disharmony.

Surely it’s hard to judge whether it’s made the country more miserable. After all the amount of misery could possibly be down to a pandemic rather than Brexit.

Let's take it back to this time last year then. And yes it is hard to judge, which is why I'm asking for opinion.

Christ, I don't know how you made it so good in your high flying work life with such a childish attitude. You are judging FOP on his previous controversial postings, there is little wrong with what he posts these days. People are allowed opinions you know. It reflects badly on you that you follow him around the board trying to pick apart his posts and find something to be offended by. Nobody is babysitting him, we moderate his posts as we would anyone else, stop being such a drama queen over Deva Chat ffs.

To be fair I was using Mancot as a benchmark, so in summary, you know what you're talking about, when compared to someone who doesn't have a clue 😉
