Because midfield general seems to primarily want to quit England (UK) because it’s a cesspit. i.e. the grass is currently greener elsewhere. As an Irish former colleague of mine consistently reminds us, grass is always greener in Ireland because it pisses down most of the time!! I also take great satisfaction in watching the Engerland football team get beat. Beaten by the mighty Iceland ,in 2016 was one of the biggest highlights.

The attitude of misplaced superiority. , to other countries and the almost certain sense of uttwr dejection when it all goes tits up. In fact the stunning lack of success of the England football team, is the perfect metaphor for Brexit.

I think World Cups and Euros are one of the few times when there's a positive sense of patriotism in the country. Yes there's some stupid behaviour that comes with it, but on the whole it brings the country together. The last World Cup was brilliant I thought. I don't tend to like England match-goers much though, and yes the Iceland defeat a few days after the Brexit vote did feel like karma.

In fact the stunning lack of success of the England football team, is the perfect metaphor for Brexit. But as a football team we had every right to feel superior to Iceland? We had a team full of Premier League players, had been in good form, so it was reasonable to feel confident that we'd beat a team with little footballing pedigree in what I think was their first ever qualification for the Euro's, with a squad containing very few players playing in any of the top leagues across Europe. They caused a massive upset in football, it happens, same as the FA Cup when a Premier League team can rightfully feel confident for overturning a lower league team but end up getting knocked out - in one off games it can happen. I don't see how the England football team losing to Iceland in a tournament 5 years ago gives you that much pleasure - I can understand how you feel some disdain for the country over Brexit etc, but lets get this right.....football is nothing to do with it.

Oh I must be thinking back to 1994 when they last had a decent side, I hope you enjoy the green grass of Ireland if they let your lack of ambition in that is...

The bloke hates England, let's not pretend his views are only based on the football team, have a look through his posts! Its called xenophobia, but he's probably a racist too, it tends to go with the territory, a bit like the brexit voters he hates aren't they supposed to be racists too?

A bit rich a Brixiteer calling someone a Racist Farage's immigration poster was like something out of Nazi Germany I was quite happy being British and European. Unfortunately, Brexit has driven a wedge through the UK and and has forced people to take sides. Given I am Anglo Irish i would chose this over being classed, as English. I dont hate England just what it has become.

A country ruled by Right wing, English popularists, closely aligned, with the openly Racist and gutter politics of Farage and the Daily Mail and Express, who are intent on burning bridges and openly antagonising the EU and the US, over Northern Ireland and threatening the Peace Process. No wonder the Irish, Scots and ever increasing numbers of the Welsh want out.I dont feel anything for this country and hate what it has become. You hate what it has become. So, you hate England then...

Just like National League clubs who lost the vote to prolong the season and are now trying to get that vote overturned. I've yet to see a post on DC supporting that view.

But its just England that's to blame... 🙄 Its nice to be able to weed out the real racists though, those people who have been dying to display their hatred of England, can now use Brexit as their stick to beat the English with.
