I imagine the Tories on here will be delighted that Bankers will be getting a multi-billion pound tax cut in the middle of a cost of living crisis. And that Energy companies have been given the green light to make huge profits whilst millions live in fuel poverty.

Working class Tories will be quite relaxed with pensioners and the low-paid freezing to death if it protects the share dividends for the rich boys.

I imagine there were huge sighs of relief among the Tory boys on here when Jacob Rees-Mogg confirmed that he managed to pull all his money out of Russia before the shooting started.

Probably not reported in the Mail, Express, Telegraph or featured on KGB News but the Commons Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee said the lack of clear direction for the Festival of Brexit was a "recipe for failure" and an "irresponsible use of £120 million of public money". ‘Failure’ and ‘waste of money’ seems entirely appropriate when celebrating Brexit.

Dreadful news for staff of P&O made “redundant” so they can be replaced by cheap foreign labour if staff won’t accept lower wages. There are images online of handcuff trained security personnel, some wearing balaclavas, taking British crew off boats after they were fired by Zoom. Tory MPs were instructed to abstain on a Labour motion that would have banned fire & rehire.

I made the point earlier in this thread that some people seem to think that since immigrants are generally on lower paid jobs, cutting immigration will push wages up. No it won't! Businesses will offer the same wages and indigenous Brits will have to accept them. It's more likely to mean native Brits actually get paid less, or lose their jobs completely. If P&O get away with this (and I have no confidence in the government to do anything about it) it sets a frightening precedent.

When Farage, Rees-Mogg and Johnson talked about a ‘bonfire of EU regulations’ this is what they meant: removal of workers’ rights, scrapping environmental laws etc. Not sure the penny is finally dropping with Brexiteers but it should be.

Not been mentioned in the MSM but Chris Bryant stated in the commons that Farage took 500k , in 2018 alone from Russia Today The great patriot needs to be investigated asap.Highly likely that Putin founded the Brexit Party etc to weaken Nato and the EU, in which Nigel played no small role. And they have the gall to dismiss remainers as traitors

Has Brexit weakened NATO? Weakened the EU? Not sure about NATO, but I think it has strengthened the EU, definitely. Clearly a foreign policy miscalculation from Putin, but without a Tory PM on the Kremlin payroll putting a spanner in the works at every opportunity, they seem much more United and dynamic.

For all this “state of the Union” talk and the Tories claiming to be the party for keeping together the United Kingdom (despite, in reality simply being a far-right English nationalist party), they don’t half make the case for the independence of the Celtic nations.
The Prime Minister of the U.K. said that Ukraine should host Euro 2028 despite the fact that the U.K. and Ireland launched a bid to host the competition that very day.
Then, to top that, he suggested Ukraine should be given a bye straight to this years World Cup finals - at the expense of both Scotland and Wales.
Those nations don’t need their own independence movement really… the Prime Minister is doing their job for them.

World exports have bounced back from Covid growing 8.2% while UK’s have fallen 14% in 3 months to January 2022. Brexit is blamed. The OBR claims UK productivity will be reduced by 4% over next 15 years. No wonder Rees-Mogg and his Brexit opportunities bullshit has been unusually silent in recent weeks.

It's alarming that you've got people like Martin Lewis and Jack Munroe saying they're becoming exhausted and are running out of ideas. For a lot of people, "saving money" has gone from something that's a shrewd piece of economic planning, to a necessity, to an impossibility.

Report on Dutch news:
- Dutch truckers stuck for 27 hours in Kent - Can't eat, drink, must urinate and defecate in their cabins - Get yelled at if they get out of their cabins - Police drive by shining in the cabins to make sure you're behind the wheels
Same on the Spanish news about the hundreds of Spanish drivers stuck in appalling conditions, who are echoing the views that the UK motorway service areas are the worst in Europe.
EU hauliers are now refusing to undertake UK business for humane reasons.
The costs are immense and they are not prepared to put their drivers through this ordeal.

I have absolutely no sympathy with anyone who voted for this. They knew what they were voting for, remember. They’ve made their stone cold bed, they can lie and shiver in it. I can't believe we just accept it though. How can something essential go up by more than 50% overnight and we're just expected to deal with it, without any support in place? In fact it's been made worse by the NI hike, at least for the next three months. I get how something niche like cashew nuts or avocados can fluctuate in price due to a bad harvest or whatever, but surely things we all depend on like fuel shouldn't be this volatile? All I hear is "well, there's a problem with supply, you see". I don't give a fuck! Sort it out, then. Why have I got to pay for it? Is my electricity 54% better now? I know I have a habit of oversimplifying these things, but that's because I really don't think they're as complicated as some authorities like to make us thing they are. One thing I'm sure of is someone is making a killing out of this - perhaps literally.

Peaceful protest is now criminalised
British citizenship can now be removed from anyone without notice
You can only exercise your “right” (lol) to vote if you can afford photo ID - £30-40 driving license; £75-85 passport
The Electoral Commission has lost its independence from the government
NHS privatisation will now become law
Independent media critical of the government is at threat of privatisation by the government
“Democracy” eh? The champions of this bonfire of human rights on this forum have been notably absent for a while now. Where’s Wortley to come and defend this fascism?
