In 2016 they were promising an extra £350million a week for the NHS, now we’re being told “Brace yourself for a gap in availability of your usual medicines”. Brexit is a disaster and people’s safety is being put at risk. What a mess. I remember at the time of the referendum. The adverts by the leave campaign showing a littke old lady, in a brand new hospital surrounded by 3 nurses promising £350 million per week for the NHS. However, it looks like either stockpilling of drugs, shortages or rationing, in the event of a no deal Brexit fantazy v Brexit reality. And still some people are willing to support this circus. Mind boggling

Genuinely scary.
The problem is, anything like this just gets dismissed as ‘Project Fear’, which has become our version of Trump ending his tweets with ‘FAKE NEWS!’

Genuinely scary. The problem is, anything like this just gets dismissed as ‘Project Fear’, which has become our version of Trump ending his tweets with ‘FAKE NEWS!’ I think it’s supposed to be scary and is a crude attempt to sell the Government’s Brexit deal, using blackmail and subterfuge . Incredibly there are a very vocal minority of people calling for a kamikaze hard Brexit and these people shouldn’t be allowed to operate machinery, never mind vote.

I know it’s a bit late but is today the day German car manufacturers beg us to negotiate with them? If ‘they need us more than we need them’, they’re leaving it awfully late.

I don't see what else you expect from an opposition tbh You've got to be kidding. They've done nothing of note on this issue for two and a half years. They've let this shambles develop without providing a reasonable alternative along the way. The SNP & Lib Dems, for instance, both have. An 11th hour revolt that they've 'led' does little to excuse how ineffective Labour have been. It's been enough to fool some though clearly!!

I don’t really see it as their job to do so. This was the Tories’ idea. EU membership is something the Conservative Party have squabbled over for years, so they fobbed it off on the public and have now shown that they still can’t come to any agreement on it. Three or four years ago, I never used to lie awake at night worrying about the EU. Things like employment, housing, healthcare, the environment, these are things that bother me, and I hear Labour talking more about these issues. I think we’re now at the stage where we need to just go through with Brexit, take the inevitable hit and then reassess things in a year or two.

I'm just saying that membership of the EU was not something that was on my mind too much before the Tories created this situation. It's become a big deal because of their handling of it.

Not new news, but just a reminder of why there has been a motion of no confidence in the Government www.ft.com/content/9e3aacf0-7b9c-11e8-bc55-50daf11b720dMy criticism of Labour of this, is they should have done it sooner, potentially putting them in a strong position to win a general election, but that means they would have to sort this mess out. Nobody has a clue how to leave the EU without causing a complete meltdown in the economy.

Nobody has a clue how to leave the EU without causing a complete meltdown in the economy. They've timed it well, as soon as that deal got rejected last night the only move they could do was follow it up with a Vote of No Confidence in the Government. It would have been issued before Christmas were it not for May and the Government pulling the meaningful vote from under the House! Also remember, that May and the Government didn't even want it to go to a vote of the house. They were forced into it after legal action!
May today has shown complete disregard for other parties and members of the house, she openly refuses to engage with other party leaders to try and find some common ground that they can go back to the EU with and ultimately try and get a deal passed by the house. It has always been down to her inability to listen to others opinions.
She was like this as Home Secretary, and she's not changed one bit since she became PM.
We all need her to resign, but we all know she won't.

They were always going to just about survive that vote. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas - the Tories and the DUP have a slight majority so they don’t want a change of government, but everyone else does. Basically a re-run of the 2017 General Election.
It’s just about keeping the pressure on really. It shows how massive Northern Ireland is in all this. The DUP have May by the neck - if they had all voted the other way it would’ve been enough to swing it. She’s lucky Sinn Fein don’t take their seats as well as I doubt they would show her too much sympathy.

Time and time again they have exposed this government as shambolic and weak, forcing U-turn after U-turn and winning key votes in the House (as we saw as recently as Tuesday). An opposition cannot really do any more than that.

Slightly off-topic but the no confidence vote demonstrates one thing. We have 650 MPs for 66 million citizens and we’re all being held hostage by 10 bigots from Ulster.

Probably not as deluded as the average Brexshitter who appear to have convinced themselves that are veterans of WW2 yet get in a funk over vegan sausage rolls, a razor blade advert or a couple of brown skinned people in a rubber dinghy off the Kent coast.
