Bercow has quite sensibly blocked MV3 without significant changes to the previous two meaningful votes.
Bad news for May, good news for the rest of us. Her approach to getting this deal through has been cringeworthy.

Commons via the speaker has exerted its authority , against the autocratic May and rightly, ruled out a 3rd vote on the same motion.

Fantastic to see so many Tory Brexiteers whinging about this , they bang on so much about how a democratic vote was taken and as such the law of that vote should be upheld.Good on Bercow for enforcing the law of the commons and shame on those MPs who want to take a vote on whether to ignore their own rules. If the law of the land cant be respected in the Commons , where can it be respected.

How completely ridiculous that the PM even needs to be told that you can’t just put the same thing to a vote again and again until you get the answer you want.
It’s like the teacher handing you your homework back and telling you to do it again, so you just hand exactly the same thing in and hope he either doesn’t notice or is in a better mood this time.

I see the March to Leave is suitably ghastly, with less than 60 walkers remaining. It appears the perfect metaphor for Brexshit and Farage has conned the poor wretches twice: firstly with empty promises on leaving the EU and now cheating them out of £50 each for the privilege of marching in the rain without him. I almost feel sorry for them, but some people (17.4 million?) are just born guillible.

Care to provide a link? Given the Tories’ austerity programme has resulted in the premature deaths of 120,000 people, many of whom were disabled or had chronic illnesses, their sudden concern for such matters should be taken with an enormous pinch of salt.

Which, ironically, is LITERALLY what the Brexit mob are telling the sensible people. And I’d probably agree with them there to be honest. Never been big on all this “People’s Vote” stuff. I tend to favour the argument that we should never have had the first one, and that parties should clearly explain their policies on the EU in their manifestos rather than fob the issue off on the public. Basically, the Tories should apologise for a poorly thought out referendum that included no plan or risk assessment for one of the outcomes, and concede that they are not capable of delivering what the 52% voted for. Sorry, but it’s as you were in 2015. Will never happen of course, but I’d have some respect for them if they just admitted the whole thing has been a complete balls-up from start to finish.

This day is just getting better and better Wouldnt it be ironic if Europe ended up destroying them? Lol Since both the Tories and Labour both have massive divisions in their ranks, maybe both parties should mutually agree to split? Neither wants to do it on their own because it would give the other a massive advantage, but if it was a binding agreement between the two, it might be interesting and progressive.

So now the EU says we can have an extension but only if a deal is approved by MPs.
Trying to make sense of that. Isn’t the failure to get a deal approved the only reason we need an extension?
So now May has to try and get a deal approved by a week on Friday, and it can’t be the same deal as last time, otherwise we’ll leave without a deal?
Sorry for all the question marks - hoping someone can make a bit more sense of this increasing shambles than I can!

Sorry for all the question marks - hoping someone can make a bit more sense of this increasing shambles than I can! Like always May has backed the wrong horse. She has demanded a short extension, to applease the ERG, when a long extension was required to iron, this mess out. Parliament needs to exert its authority, sideline the hapless May. Apply for a long extension and try and reach a cross party consensus for a softer Brexit or prepare for a second referendum. May's piss poor deal has been rejected twice by the commons and ruled out by the speaker. Starmer is right She is the @road block to progress@. Apparently, she was threatening to resign, rather than support a long extension. Now that really would be a win/win situation.

I think that’s the really unforgivable thing - how late this is all happening. Why couldn’t these votes have taken place months ago? The EU are quite within their rights to question why we need an extension.
It’s like me when I was at school. I’d have a week to do my homework and end up doing on the bus on the morning it was due in.

To be honest I am surprised the EU have allowed an extension, they must have better things to be devoting time and effort on I think EU elections are upcoming in the next two months or so I cant imagine they would want the Uk to be taking part, as we would have to if we were still a member state at that point, if we were actively still attempting to leave

Neither our PM or our leader of the opposition covered themselves in glory tonight.
Firstly Corbyn walks out of the type of cross party meeting he himself has been calling for seemingly due to the presence of the independents. He's never going to be a statesman is he.
Then, May turns up 20 minutes late to deliver an uninspiring statement that appears to blame everyone but herself for the fiasco at Westminster. Yes Theresa we are tired, tired of you.
Genuinely can't think of a time when modern Britain has had a Tory and Labour leader who are both so totally unsuitable for office.
