The Government wants one in fairness, the opposition parties don't seem to be in a place to take them on. The only reason Boris wants one is because he wants us out of the EU without a deal, and a GE might mean parliament isn't sitting to block it. Boris is a complete snake, and the opposition parties know that you can't trust him. Perfectly put. |

I never quite understand the mentality of believing everyone who disagrees with you being brainwashed/a moron etc. It's seeped out from the Brexit debate and its now become a bizaare seige/bunker mentality of the current Corbyn crew. If he gets smashed 1983 style in the polls, rather than propose that maybe their views are indeed in the minority they'll label everyone an MSM drone.
It really is rather odd. If Corbyn smashes to what will be a monumental victory in a GE, it will be because the country wants a change of direction, not because Corbyn supporters are brainwashed by their echo chamber on social media.
The hope is a GE will settle this nonsence once and for all. If the country is still right leaning after what has been an absolute cluster-fuck of since 2016, it wont be because of the bloody media it'll be because the opposition have failed miserably.
Let this be quite clear, this is a general election the opposition should be winning, hands-down, a bloody landslide, if they do - great, if not, then clearly Jeremy Corbyn is not the messiah he thinks he is.

Or an overcrowded boat of about 12 migrants on their way over the channel is an immigration crisis, not the half a million Non EU nationals who simply walk in and disappear every year because border controls are so under funded. I wouldn't say brainwashed, but I think we're all influenced to some extent by what we read, and I think it's fair to say that Rupert Murdoch for one has rather more influence than is healthy in the media. Basically, we all have a preconceived idea of what we believe, and then we tend to have it reinforced by the media. |

I think the country has suffered enough SB! We’ve suffered precisely because we haven’t had a socialist government. Look at Portugal, who have recently re-elected the Socialist Party back into Government. The Socialists have halved the unemployment rate, created 270,000 new skilled jobs and have an economic growth rate that outstrips ours. Socialism works, Comrades. Go and tell that to the people of Venezuela, those people brought up in Bosnia in recent years who are victims of Milosevic’s Socialist Serbia’s imperialism. Wow I forgot Mr pedantic was on this post. I don't have time to trawl through statistics so I made that one up. I'm sure you have the exact figures to hand. I believe 50 odd Labour seats are held in brexit voting areas. Yet they continually defy the people who put them there. By the way I always voted Labour until that guy who said. It won't affect the pound in your pocket. But guess what it did. You may be socialist but for god sake give other people a right to their own opinion. I also worked and lived in communist poland for two years I didn't like that either

I'm sure a lot of Brexit voters think that the referendum is the only vote that ever has and ever will matter, and overrides anything that's ever been voted on in the history of the universe.
Brexit is way too complicated to blindly ram something through based on a narrow, poorly thought out referendum three years ago. It's not as simple as working out who should leave the X Factor this week.
