Purely as a matter of interest and whilst appreciating that some may be acutely embarrassed to admit to it, but did any posters on here get their fingers burnt in Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party Ponzi scheme?

Got a visit from my Labour MP this afternoon.
Like last time, I imagine the Tories will be nowhere near, given that I live in terraced housing in the 'Aldi end' of the town!

Is it the 13th December yet? Can't wait for this shite to be over. I think it’s great fun. Seeing Corbyn make a fool of himself at every opportunity is a thing of comedy. This week’s comments about the leader of ISIS are pretty specialist. I’m sure he can have tea and biscuits with the next one at some community centre in due course!

Imagine being an ordinary person genuinely arguing against working a four-day week and having free broadband.
If this is you, the super-rich are peeing themselves laughing at how stupid you are.

Election campaign so far.
Labour - exciting policies, innovation and investment. Leader drawing crowds.
Cons - smears, negativity and lies. Leader drawing widespread derision.
Lib Dems - utter confusion. Leader causing party implosion.

Corbyn and Labour probably wouldn't manage to deliver everything they promise, but I would always rather vote for something idealistic and visionary than something cynical and regressive. Good intentions at least are a start. It's not like what we've got at the moment is working.

So who pays the Internet companies. There is a lot of them employing a lot of people expect they will still want a wage. They’d re-nationalise a part of BT (which covers Openreach) and tax massive tech giants like Apple and Google a little bit more in order to provide free superfast full-fibre broadband for the whole country. They would compensate shareholders by issuing government bonds and ensure pension funds with investments in BT are not left out of pocket. It’ll save the average family £30pm on bills and roll out better connectivity for rural areas all across the country. Regarding existing broadband providers (with their suspect customers service and hidden charges) they can still operate and charge for their service as they currently do, but they’d have to compete with the free nationalised service (just like private clinics/hospitals compete with the NHS). Private is bad for the public purse, and for our public services. We can use the billions we waste on shareholder dividends to deliver better services for all of country.

You do know that tax pays for public services don’t you? That’s the whole point of it (except of course with the Tories, where our taxes only pay so the millionaires and corporations don’t have to). The process of delivering this policy will be paid for by increasing the current government’s £5bn pot to improve broadband. Oh, and it’s a RE-nationalisation of a PART of BT, that’s all.

When BT was a nationalised industry it was at the forefront of fibre broadband and had two manufacturing factories. Along came Thatcher and Reganomics, it was privatised, split off and sold. The factories were closed shipped off to the Far East and we have never recovered.
This policy will make a massive difference to where people can live, especially those that work from home. House prices will equalise quite a bit, as home working people look further afield for their homes. Remote areas will benefit from people bringing their salaries into town.
Other nations can’t understand why we have a problem with this - Spain, Portugal, South Korea, Japan are all far better placed than us when it comes to this.

You hate tories with money. But not Labour with money, in life there are rich people and poor people always has been always will be. Me thinks you're a tad jealous.

I don't expect anybody to do any thing for me. I've done very well in life through hard graft. Plus a sizeable win on the lottery. Not quite the 3 million corbyn has, nor did I carry on working past 65 earning £70k a year plus leader of the opposition salary, plus expenses, plus his pension from Parliament. I reckon close on 300k a year not bad for a 70 year old. But it's OK he's labour
