Mr Swettenham runs businesses that directly contribute to the economy and he obviously believes in our own club’s socialist model.

Aye, it’s important you believe in what you’re fighting for otherwise what’s left? I’d rather walk around with a bit of dignity than be some cringemaking class traitor doing the posh boys’ dirty work in the hope they will throw you a bone. So those who disagree with your views are traitors! How dignified. Indeed, it’s all about dignity.

This would be a great debate on twitter you get more varied opinions instead of the same same old same old on here. 60 odd pages and still the same posters trying to convince everyone that only they are right.

I don't expect anybody to do any thing for me. I've done very well in life through hard graft. Plus a sizeable win on the lottery. Not quite the 3 million corbyn has, nor did I carry on working past 65 earning £70k a year plus leader of the opposition salary, plus expenses, plus his pension from Parliament. I reckon close on 300k a year not bad for a 70 year old. But it's OK he's labour Most of Corbyn's wealth is held up in a pretty grim terraced house in London which, thanks to the ludicrous housing market, is worth more than £1 million. He also gives a substantial amount of his 'salary' to charity. But they don't tell you about that in the Daily Heil do they?

Price of Labour's plan of free broadband for all: £230m Price we pay to compensate for poor home Wi-Fi: £2.2bn
It’s actually saving money.
The internet is now one of our most important utilities. It’s where many people find work, friends, and love. Only a cap-doffing slave to the class system says: “NO! Don’t invest in me! Give my boss a tax cut instead!”

Imagine being an ordinary person genuinely arguing against working a four-day week and having free broadband. If this is you, the super-rich are peeing themselves laughing at how stupid you are. Plagarised from twitter. Essentially though, the NHS stats are woeful, those at the top jobs in the conservative party are awful, Boris with all his background the horrendous record of the last few years where nothing has been done and Brexit is a failure - i'm sure there's more to come too. Utterly, utterly the worst government ever known, SINCE RECORDS BEGAN! Imagine not being able to get a majority vs this lot. Worse still, imagine losing a GE entirely! Alyn and Deeside is safe as safe gets now at least but as for the rest of UK, if this government doesnt fall, despite how disgusting it is it'll be on the Labour leadership, no-one else.

In particular, I'd like to see more done to encourage over-75s to use the internet, as it's a huge advantage if you're someone who can't or doesn't leave the house much. As it is, the NHS is processing paper prescriptions and filing paperwork away. If you're in a doctor's surgery, the phone never stops ringing and the receptionists are also dealing with people physically turning up at busy times with general questions. I reckon 95% of this could be dealt with online if people knew where to turn to, freeing up time and resources for actually treating patients.

I believe corbyn lives in an ex council house that he bought cheaply no doubt you will correct me if I am wrong. It's where he chooses to live. As for charity donations that does not make him different or special we all give what we can don't we. As I have said before I don't do papers, unless it's the chronicle. I form my own opinions but have no intentions of forcing them on anybody else

He was whinging on here when a young Chester fan told us he got a free ticket from the club as a gesture for all the hard work that he does. Hardly supposed "in yer face" Socialist behaviour.

As an employee of the business that Labour say they want to nationalise, and a traditional Labour voter, I was appalled by that announcement last night. It's complete pie in the sky stuff, along with Boris' comments on a BBC Q&A about giving every home 1Gbit/s connectivity. The money required to provide that additional infrastructure, additional labour, investment in training and skills would be astronomical.
I wish they would just concentrate on the stuff that actually matters, education, health service, public services and good job opportunities for people. That's what matters.

All of this stuff is fairly reliant on broadband, which is woefully inadequate across huge swathes of the country. Openreach is already a private monopoly supplier of broadband infrastructure and they're pretty shit at it, no offence. Private monopolies are never a good idea. Besides, they're already subsidised by the taxpayer. It makes sense to nationalise it.

inews.co.uk/news/technology/britons-paying-2-2bn-each-year-to-compensate-for-poor-home-wi-fi-68898As two other posters above have said, full-fibre super fast broadband would certainly help all of the things you’ve mentioned - the internet is used to find work, do work, manage work, it can certainly help speed up processes in the NHS and education, and so on. If Japan can have 97% and South Korea 98% of their country connected to full-fibre super fast broadband why can’t we? We’re at 8-10%.

There are a lot of great things happening within the business to drive that enablement, as well as lots of work going on to enable 5G across the country.
When 5G hits, you'll never need a fixed line broadband line anyway.

Also to correctly quote a piece I have just seen.
"Labour has said building the British Broadband network will cost £20 billion and once completed running costs will amount to £230 million per year.
A source at BT has pointed out that Openreach has 33,000 employees and shadow chancellor John McDonnell has guaranteed that none will lose their jobs.
The source says that operational expenses figure equates to a salary of less than £7,000 per employee".

ThinkBroadband.com announced on Monday that the U.K. has reached the “milestone” of 10% of the country having access to superfast full-fibre. Japan and South Korea are just shy of 100% coverage. I’m not talking about fibre broadband, I am referring specifically to superfast full-fibre.

Why do you, specifically you need 200mbit/s broadband over existing up to 80mbit/s broadband that you get in the Sychdyn area? Work from home? You can work from home just fine on existing fibre to the cabinet service. You not being allowed to work from home has nothing to do with broadband speeds, your employer probably doesnt trust you to actually do any work when you're not in the office. You'd prob end up going full time plagarising material off twitter.. or doing that other disgusting thing you take seem to take pride in doing in the work toilets..

Your point simply comes down to "we shouldn't expect any better than we have" (once you take away all your personal attacks that undermine your argument) It's a bit like saying we should never look to fix the pot holes in the car park because we can all park cars in there as it is. It is my personal opinion that austerity has had it's greatest success in convincing people that we don't deserve anything better than we have now.
The fact of the matter is you tried to pull SB up on his figures, he has shown evidence for his figures and you had misunderstood his point. You were wrong, however in true Deva Chat style you have ignored that and rather than admit you were wrong you've changed your position to something else and posted some personal attacks one of which had a healthy dose of homophobia and has now been deleted.
I am self employed and have to rent an office workspace on the Business Park to receive the connection I need to trade quick moving markets. Make your arguments of Party Politics, however a universally accessible and superior speed internet can only be a good thing. If people don't need higher speed internet why does it exist and is so readily used and available in other countries.
