The whole Leeds hospital fallout shows the disgusting depths the Tories will sink to. Completely making up a story of Labour activists “punching” an aide to Health Secretary Matt HanCOCK (when said aide inadvertently walked into someone’s arm/hand who was looking the other way) to deflect from the sickening situation of a four year old child having to be treated on a pile of coats on the floor due to lack of beds.
Worse still, the Tories got their friends in the media (including the political editor of our supposed impartial state broadcaster) to spread those lies without actually checking.
This country is a mess.

Spoke to a man in his sixties yesterday who lives in sheltered accommodation. He said they've been told that rent will increase next year "because of Brexit". Will his pension go up "because of Brexit", or will he receive some sort of "Brexit allowance" to cover this raise?
Brexit has just become an excuse for people to do what they want, and it's greedy bastards who are getting the most out of it.

As I was wheeled through to x Ray people sprawled out in corridor had to be asked to move. Looks like it's their sat night out. On the other hand recently treated for prostate cancer treatment was 1st class. Also been delayed while prisoner from jail brought in on a chain taken straight through to be seen.

I have been very loathe to post on this thread as on my list of political priorities Brexit, either leaving or staying, would be about 9th.
Other things concern me much more such as walking around Chester last night and seeing the amount of young men and women having to sleep on the street on a cold winters night. In the media seeing the young boy having to sleep on the floor at A and E because there are not enough beds and listening to the reports of the psyschopath who did despicable and depraved things after being released by mistake, presumably because the criminal justice system is a shambles. Bumped into a couple of old friends in the super market the other day and listened incredulous that their grandson and his girlfriend were having to pay £2,200 per month for a one bedroom flat in London. Food banks appear to be everywhere in the country this Christmas because so many can not make ends meet, both those on benefits and in work.
We will be asked to go out and vote on Thursday and I will cast my vote based on things like the above not Brexit which I care less about everyday.

I think although the thread is called 'BREXIT', it's developed into one about politics in general and I absolutely agree that people need to look beyond Brexit on Thursday.
Brexit is a tool being used to polarise the country and obfuscate the important matters you mention, and Johnson is doing it on purpose and won't talk about anything else. The classic example was when he even brought up Brexit in the immediate aftermath of the London Bridge stabbings.

In 2016 I had the idea of tidying my shed. I still haven't tidied my shed, and nothing else can be done until I've tidied my shed. It's definitely somebody else's fault that my shed hasn't been tidied so everyone has to support me in my efforts to Get Shed Tidying Done, and until it's done you'll just have to put up with all the other shit I'm creating, I'm afraid.

There are more foodbanks in this country than there are branches of McDonald's. Depressing really that there is such a large chunk of morally-depraved people in this country willing to vote for the people who have made that a reality.
Unfortunately I have a family member who is one of the aforementioned - I found out the other day that, despite living in England, he is still using his mum's Welsh address so that he can continue to get free prescriptions on the Welsh NHS, a Labour policy. And that to me, is just so reflective of the typical Tory attitude - take, take, take and then pull the ladder up for others behind you.

Just imagine Jeremy Corbyn had written a book depicting Jews as controlling the media, describing black people as "n*****s", and saying a black man was "stupid because he was a c**n".
There'd be wall-to-wall BBC coverage.
But no. It was Boris Johnson who wrote these things.

Read about this last week in the echo. They have started a go fund me page it was up to over £2000 when I read it fair enough if it feeds kids and keeps them warm but I hope it doesn't feed his alcohol habit.

The only downside to the likes of food banks and Go Fund Me page is that it's bailing out the government. People are being kept alive through the human spirit - something that's completely lacking in this government.
Jonathan Pie's latest video absolutely nails it. You don't have to like who you vote for on Thursday, but just lock the vision of a miserable Boris sulking his way out of No. 10 on Friday in your mind, and vote tactically.

At the risk of sounding draconian you could also argue it is bailing out the parent's irresponsibility. The vast majority of people look at the financial aspect of having children. In this instance it appears that this couple have negated this and thought the state should look after them regardless of how many children they decide to have. Feel really sorry for the kids in this instance.

Indeed we should think of the life chances of the children in these situations, I agree. Hopefully we can elect a government on Thursday that WILL invest in Sure Start centres, that WILL invest in education, that WILL put an end to the cruel UC and to childhood poverty and that will bring about real change for the many, not the few.

Feel really sorry for the kids in this instance. Possibly. People make poor decisions, and always will do. I prefer to be compassionate and give people the benefit of the doubt. The point is that to deliberately reduce someone's benefits to a point where they don't have enough to live off and feed their kids is inhumane.

Going back to policies...
Tory ministers who dubbed Labour's nationalised broadband pledge a ‘crazed communist scheme’ enjoy free internet at taxpayers' expense.
Latest expenses records show that 45 Conservative MPs have collectively claimed more than £12,000 in 2018-19 in expenses to cover the cost of broadband in their second homes. Crazy Marxists that lot.

We all have different views but the bile and hatred being directed by the far left toward anybody who doesn't share their views across social media has taken on new levels this last week. I've noticed many tweets, memes, Facebook updates etc that have tried to vilify anyone who may not vote Labour.
They're too stupid to understand that such behaviour undermines their own argument. Vile.

The fact of the matter is that whether it’s conservatives, Labour or Lib Dem’s in power, hard working people who don’t earn mega bucks will always be the ones that get screwed over by governments.

88% of Tory ads were found to misleading, compared to 0% for Labour, according to The Coalition for Reform in Political Advertising.
The Tories are objectively running a campaign of lies.

I said this at the beginning of this thread I have worked my balls off for forty years in the motor trade and am now looking at retirement with my private pension providing me with an adequate income If Corbyn gets in an nationalizes the water and power companies where my pension fund is invested, thus drastically cutting its value do you think he will give a shit about me ? No will he F**k So he wont be getting my vote
