Spot on. You only have to look at the Sons of Corbyn on here to see the name calling and bitching from the far-left. Pathetic behaviour. The fact of the matter is that whether it’s conservatives, Labour or Lib Dem’s in power, hard working people who don’t earn mega bucks will always be the ones that get screwed over by governments. I said this at the beginning of this thread I have worked my balls off for forty years in the motor trade and am now looking at retirement with my private pension providing me with an adequate income If Corbyn gets in an nationalizes the water and power companies where my pension fund is invested, thus drastically cutting its value do you think he will give a shit about me ? No will he F**k So he wont be getting my vote A working class Tory oxymoron, how sad.

We all have different views but the bile and hatred being directed by the far left toward anybody who doesn't share their views across social media has taken on new levels this last week. I've noticed many tweets, memes, Facebook updates etc that have tried to vilify anyone who may not vote Labour. They're too stupid to understand that such behaviour undermines their own argument. Vile. Really sorry to hear you might have seen some sweary memes. Hope you’re okay.

Really sorry to hear you might have seen some sweary memes. Hope you’re okay. ...and then you have the likes of Ian... In the past week we’ve had a 72 year old male Labour canvasser have his jaw broken in a viscous assault in Rotherham, a 70 year old lady out leafleting for Labour in Bromyard was thrown over a car bonnet by an angry right-wing male and a 50 year old Labour volunteer in Birchwood was assaulted in a politically motivated attack. Today at Westhoughton Market in Bolton an elderly lady Labour activist was pushed and kicked by Boris Johnson supporters after she tried to gain access to a public meeting. But don’t worry the Boomers will try to make some false equivalence with a few off-colour memes on Faceache.

Reading through Corbyn’s pledges the country will end up in a bigger financial mess than he was personally in a few years back. How? Wouldn’t want Labour undoing the Tories’ fantastic work on the economy. When my daughter was at primary school we used to fill a shoebox with food and gifts for children in third world countries. She’s now in the 6th Form and after 10 years of Tory misrule we’re still doing the Christmas boxes, only now they are for U.K. children. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Yeah, but ya know, Matt Hancock’s SPAD walked into somebody’s arm and a Tory got called a C-unit on Twitter last night. Also, a study shows that Corbyn has received more online abuse than any other politician in the run-up to this election, although the Tories have received more overall.

I’m not denying that abuse happens on social media and I’m not excusing it, but to suggest that it all comes from the Left is deeply dishonest. One quick look at Jeremy Corbyn’s timeline is enough to show that many people from the Right enjoy hurling abuse at Labour figures and some of the stuff they spout is deeply unpleasant. Indeed, as someone who is a pretty regular user of Twitter, not a day goes by when some right wing yahoo isn’t screaming ‘snowflake’ or ‘leftard’ (I know) in my direction. Away from the bear pit of social media and out in the real world it appears all the political violence has been heading in one direction. Yes, I know the Tories and their media outlets love to highlight every rude word that has been scrawled on a Vote Conservative poster but to suggest that this is equivalent to Labour activists being violently assaulted is hypocrisy of the highest order.

I see Boris Johnson hid in a fridge in Leeds this morning to avoid questions while one of his aides swore loudly at a GMB reporter. But that’s okay because according to the Tory Boys only industrial language from the Left is verboten.

They brighten up the working day and give us all a good laugh. I can't wait until Corbyn comes into power. Apparently we are all going to be working a two day week and getting paid over £100,000 a year for it. We will then have lots of time to write poetry and sell freshly picked daisy chains from the marshes of Helsby in bohemian Frodsham according to them.

Vile. Indeed, starting to see a lot of this, lots of people being turned off from the constant noise on social media and turning against the left. When someone shouts at you so much some switch off (many have muted a certain someone) but some now want to see the fall-out of a conservative majority on their social media feeds.

I wouldn't say I'm trying to "convert" anyone, but I do hope to give people something to think about. That's why I don't think I've insulted anybody personally on this thread (except politicians).
The thing with debate is that it's very unlikely that you will change somebody's opinion there and then. What you might to is give them pause for thought, or say something that sticks in their mind. I've noticed plenty of people I know whose opinions seem to have changed as they've got older, more of them from right to left than the other way.

As if angry tweets are worse than elderly people being violently assaulted and an MP stabbed to death... I think what we’re seeing here are posters having an internal conversation and engaging in a bout of self-justification for voting Tory tomorrow. The choices are clear, as are the consequences of another 5 years of Tory rule. The past decade has seen an exponential growth in food banks and homelessness, in-work poverty has soared, as has job insecurity. The NHS is on its knees, we’re heading for an environmental catastrophe and nothing the Tories promise will improve matters for the vast majority of people. If people were honest enough with themselves and their peers on here they would admit to voting Tory because they are doing alright financially and wish to protect their position, despite it negatively impacting on the most vulnerable. However to come out with rubbish about some salty tweets from total strangers on a social media platform making them vote Tory is pitiful.

I’d actually have more respect for them if they were just honest and said Tory policies improve their lives. I’d vehemently disagree with their stance because I care about people worse off than me, I care about the NHS and I care about having a future Earth for my kids and their kids to grow up in, but I’d still respect them for being honest.

Reading through Corbyn’s pledges the country will end up in a bigger financial mess than he was personally in a few years back. How? Simple example for you. Raising corporation tax and the minimum wage is going to be a disaster for SME's. Probably even more us than for the likes of "Amazon", "Phones 4 U" and other nationwide companies who provide large scale employment. It will also be problematic for consumers as the price of goods will rise thus meaning they are squeezed further. Personal debt will increase because goods and services are more expensive. Companies will also struggle to grow and recruit because consumers can't afford the goods/services and the economy will stagnate. Companies may have to make redundancies and thus meaning more people will have to rely on state benefits. Pay rises will become a rarity in the private sector. That's one Labour disaster to look forward to. All self-explanatory really Mancot and when pushed McDonnell has never given answer to this fanciful proposition.

As if angry tweets are worse than elderly people being violently assaulted and an MP stabbed to death... Right, so I said that the climate on social media may be having the effect of turning people off labour and that’s a sensible response? Then it’s said it’s our self-styled justification for voting Tory? I struggle to follow this argument. You’ve taken a discussion about how sometimes when you campaign to the point it actually might have reverse effect and taken it as a slight on dear leader. It’s not, it was just a semi-interesting discussion about the current state of social media. I’d add there’s the added dynamic of young people telling older people how to vote coming across badly as I dare say people 40 and above won’t appreciate it.

I have to say the lack of a sliding scale approach on the changes to Corp Tax and dividend concerns me the very most.
