I'm going to take a little guess that your wife's friend had no intention of voting for Mark anyway, probably made this clear on the doorstep and when Mark obviously then decided to politely move on, she has exaggerated his actions out of all proportion in order that she can slag him off to her friends. I've seen it countless times this election. People who will happily call Mark an "arsehole" and a "traitor" to a volunteer like me but then as soon as they see the man himself walk down their driveway they suddenly lose their bollocks and come over all friendly and approachable. It's absolutely embarrassing and it is always from a certain demographic - old white people.

To deva chanter are you one of those people who hoped all older people would die before you had another vote on brexit and I don't particularly like your racist undertones. I can assure you my wife's friend had no ulterior motive. not given to bragging to friends. If she said it happened it did.

The "neutral" stance you seem to be saying Tami should've taken didn't work too well for Corbyn. I think Labour MPs are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I just see Brexit as a massive spanner thrown in the works by the far-right, and it's upset the entire political spectrum.

Anyone else see failed former prime minister Theresa May in parliament, yelling, 'We all know an independent Scotland WILL NOT be in the European Union, it WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be in the European Union".

This is just another way of the Tories saying “know your place.”

Of course an independent Scotland would be allowed in the EU. Scotland is behaving like a progressive European country. 


It's the future United Kingdom of England and Wales that might have trouble if it realised it made a mistake. The EU might want assurances that we've grown the hell up a bit and weren't going to treat the whole thing like a game of Hokey Cokey over the next few decades. 

A lot of people who voted for Brexit did so because they wanted to "get rid of Muslims and foreigners".

The left, especially Lexiteers who had valid political reasons to want to break away from the neoliberal state of the EU (rather than “Remain and Reform”), have to be honest and admit this instead of defaulting to "Not everyone who voted for Brexit is a racist!" because a lot are.

The biggest reason this has happened is due to the majority of the left abandoning Brexit before it even began, joining hands with liberals and advocating Remain/Second Referendum. Therefore, the far right was the only political force dictating the terms of Brexit.

The far right was very effective at making boring trading relations into a culture war - stolen valour, taking back control which was rightfully 'ours' etc - and there was no significant left alternative despite many socialist critiques of the EU.

The next Labour leader/manifesto needs to provide an alternative that isn't Remain, ignore fence-sitting liberals, criticise the EU with a socialist lense and never throw minorities or job security under the bus.

I think a lot of remainders are also racist don't have to be a Muslim to suffer racism. Annalise all you want to labour lost because of corbyn and the stance of mps who continually blocked brexit. Nothing more ignore the people who vote at your peril.
