Like others on this forum, I would never blame a player for looking after himself and his family, but the way he treated us was unforgivable

Funny to watch this all unfold.
However, why should anyone have to take any paycut on a deal the club originally put in front of him?
Shows how much of a joke Mills was and the club too, the manager isn't signing off on these contracts is he?

Also sends a warning shot to those other lads approaching 30 starts. Again he (Rooney) agrees terms then renegades on the deal - he and his agent never learn! I suppose it explains why Horne and Bircham jumped ship at the time then before the 30 game extensions became public knowledge

Sqzl...Taken from the Leader “We got the contract written up and then the goalposts moved a little bit, and he asked for more. It was a case of we were not going to be held over a barrel. I agree with your initial statement that he signed a contract with the 30 game clause, they had a deal and they came to negotiate it as expected and then you have Keates statement as above. What's so difficult to understand? Rooney wanted more in contract negotiation's than Wxm want to pay.Simple really. Doubt he'll be at a top conf side next season tbh.I'e never heard of any offer's from the big spending club's in the league clamouring for his signature. Ted, he was asked to take a pay cut which he was willing to do, but then decided why should he take a cut on the contract he originally signed, but still offered himself at under contract value. Keates turned it down. If I go to work tomorrow and my boss says mate can you sign this its your wages dropping 20% I'll say no thanks. It's human nature.

Scores a last minute goal to win the game v Sutton tonight. I noticed Jake Cassidy got the first for Guiseley last night. He was the lad who signed for Wolves from Airbus. He's lost his way a bit, but he's 6'2" from near here and has played in the Championship so must have some talent - would be a good signing in the summer.

He's also on a good wage at Guiseley. Wrexham went in for him during the transfer window and reportedly couldn't pay him what Guiseley were.

In case you hadn't noticed, this is a Chester website for Chester fans. So when there's a topic which perfectly illustrates that Wrexham aren't as big as they think they are, aren't as rich as the fans think they are, and shows they have given up all ambition for this season, it's unlikely to get closed

1300 x 12(weeks to the end of the season) = 15600 I always knew Chester had more fans than Wrexham

Although we are considerably richer than yow I understand Rooney is a bit of an obsession for some Chester fans though. It's getting that way for some of ours as well though tbf

No sour grapes here but I'm not too fussed he's gone and many who sit by me will be delighted. Could not fault his effort and him leaving ch@@ter and scoring at the dive were priceless but he was too selfish with the ball 9 times out of 10 a pass would have been better than a shot. Glad he scored against Sutton an put York nearer the drop as the hatred against mills is unbelievable . Just hope it's us that sends them down

It sure would be great if York, Guiseley and North Ferriby go down. It would free up more space for longer trips.

I don't mean this disrespectfuly to yourself Riot but what is the great part about longer trips? It feels as if we have been notoriously poor since returning to the Conference when going down south for away games! We don't need MORE long distance away games, surely?

Didn't you get the irony in that as I love going to away games but the more matches in the south the more I will miss unfortunately.
