Tomorrow Chester travel to Southport for the second time this season. I'm looking forward to it (although I went in October) as it's a nice local match and I think we will stop the rot there. UTS 🔵⚪ Score: Southport 0-2 Chester FC Attendance: 1,958 (932 Chester)

I feel a draw is the best we can hope for. How do I vote for that?
Btw what does UTS mean?

Split that away number in half and you maybe nearer, more likely to be 600 max.

Think the away number will be likely half that at the very most.
I'm going for Southport 2-2 Chester.
Attendance 1375 (412 Chester)

We haven't been "City" since we went bust in 2010 but people still use it. I like Seals, it's better than boring old City or Blues.

My son wants to have a bet on tomorrow's match and hasn't been since 1992. He's asked me for my opinion. I'm trying to remember when we last beat them and I think it was 3-1 in our Championship-winning season when Daryl Clare got sent off. I'm thinking we've played the another 6 times without winning. Is this right?

Just to add to the above, we've faced Southport seven times in the league since our reformation and they haven't yet managed a win.
5 Draws and 2 Chester wins.

We took 800 in October.

No we actually took 1000, Southport lied. That was when we were on fire and it was the FA Cup, which makes it even more important. We're in dire form, poor weather at the moment, train replacements..... I'll be amazed if we have 500.

I expect there will be goals, my heart says 3-1 blues my head says 2-2. Won't tell you what the little devil sitting on my shoulder is telling me Will go with my head so 2-2 with goals from Alabi and Shaw. But to add a bit of realism we will be winning 2-0 with 10 mins to go. 425 travelling Chester fans. God I hope we do win this though.....

Not exactly confident today. Could be a grim afternoon out.
I'd settle for a 0-0 draw, given recent results and need for points.
Be interesting to see the team, and subs bench, today.
While agreeing I'd rather see Sam at centre half, if Theo isn't fit that causes a problem. Not sure Hudson has been playing badly in the away games I've been too.
I think we all want to see a 4 4 2 style formation. Not a sort of messy diamond where no-one seems to play in their best position.
Will today be better than the cup game there earlier in the season? We'll find out later. . . .

I always think of them as a bit of a bogey team for some reason. Possibly because of despite the above I don't think the performances have been anything to write home about. Reading the paper this morning and noticed we are strangely Alan Alger's bet of the day.

Interesting to see that we have gone back to 4-4-2 and Sam back in the middle partnering Astles - happy with that. Not particularly happy with George at right back and Joyce starting. Also glaringly obvious there is no creativity in that midfield. Still, no harm in setting us up hard to beat away from home and Durrell to come off the bench at least gives us a decent attacking option should we need it.
