So as not to jinx our start to the season i thought i better continue starting the match thread sequence.
So this Saturday sees us head North for probably our longest away trip of the season. Blyth Spartens have not had the best of starts and will be keen to try and put that right sooner rather than later. Another good passing side who will cause us problems if we are not 100% on it.
We could see both Scott Burton and Matty Hughes back in the squad for this trip after being excluded from the opening two games due to injury and suspension respectively.
We should take a healty travelling contingent with a few no doubt making a weekend of it in Newcastle.
Forecast: another Blues win by the odd goal.

Blyth will be looking to bounce back but I don’t think our gaffers will let our boys take their foot off the gas especially with players waiting in the wings to snatch their places I’m going for a 2-0 win with an unchanged side with Burton and Hughes on the bench On the subject of bouncing back it will be interesting to see how Curzon fare at home to Hereford

I'm fairly confident about this one (which has obviously put the mockers on it) 2-0 to the Blues with 407 making the long trek

Hopefully Deane Smalley will also be available to give us more options up front.
Reading Blyth’s match report from last night, its sounds like they created plenty of chances against Bradford but failed to take them so it might be tougher than people expect.

Really can’t wait for this after a brilliant night out on Monday. We fully deserved that victory which puts us in a great position going into Saturday. Blyth doesn’t seem too far away, but this will actually be our longest trip of the season although I hope that we can take another strong following up there.
In all fairness the league table means absolutely zilch at this stage, but we are sitting in 3rd place whilst Blyth Spartans are joint-bottom, so we should be expecting to make it two away wins in a row (it must’ve been donkeys of years ago since we last achieved that feat). Still though, I think that this will be another tough test for us as Blyth had a decent campaign last time out, and will be hoping to be in and around the top 10 come April.
Let’s just hope that we can come home from Northumberland with another 3 points which would make the table look a pretty sight. This match will be segregated, so I’m presuming that we will take a healthy following of a couple of hundred after winning on Monday. Can’t wait, bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come On City! Score: Blyth Spartans 0-2 Chester FC (Dudley, Tuton) Attendance: 1,255 (330 Chester) COYB!

Would be happy with a draw today, absolutely made up for a win. Longest trip of the season out of way early which is great, lets hope we can keep another clean sheet.

Dave Powell- Doubts over Shaun Tuton’s fitness ahead of today
Scott Burton could be making a return, assume that means he’s travelled. He tweeted about having a full training session on Thursday our last before the game.
Matty Hughes back.
Nothing on Deane Smalley whose registration issue is something to do with time in Wales as mentioned on the Friday night football show last night by Jonno.

I knew it would be something to do with “international clearance”. Absolutely ridiculous the barriers this seems to create.
