The lack of desire and effort makes it look like we was allowing them to score, I doubt it was match fixing. Most of their attacks and goals came from the wings and cutting in, the wing back system isn't working. It does feel like there is more to this freak result then meets the eye but I think a lot of over thinking is happening on here. All me can do is turn up next match and get result and put this whole saga to bed

Who knows, but its wouldn't surprise me if something comes out latter in the week. The players are, strangely, saying nothing on social media either. As you say its the lack of reaction that is very unusual, not even frustration or acknowledgement of the situation. Didn't look a bonded group of players to me, far from it. There wouldn’t be much to say really. The only cliche of “Not the result we wanted, we go again next week” sometimes talking is best saved for the pitch. I’m hoping that’s the plan. Or doing what I was expecting them to do and apologise for totally embarrassing the club and as a sorry to those who travelled to the longest away game of the season.

Very strange viewing, that. It reminds me of when you’re at a barbecue with mates and a kickabout starts, lads start running about with a can of lager in their hand, and by the end everyone is full of beer and meat and tripping over their own feet.

To be honest my opinion after the first game I thought that there was no width in the team and was lucky to get a draw, I said to a couple of people I don't know what formation they are trying to play, to me it was the same sort of rubbish they where playing last season but in a lower league, get a 4 4 2 system going and stick with it.

I've just watched those 'highlights'. Two things stand out for me - the complete lack of any defensive cover on either side and the goalkeeper making little effort to save the vast majority of the shots he faced. He literally watches half of them go in.

The most positive thing you can say about the highlights is that the best of the nine goals was scored by us. Blyth's goals are all just really poor on our part. Look at the fourth, the biggest lad in the box totally unmarked. The fifth is even worse, what's Grand doing there with that lazy, token 'heel flick'? Absolutely pathetic!

I still can't believe it so I had to watch the highlights.. twice!! noticed Blyth have behind the goal cam during goals, it would be great if we could look into this, I bet it would sound great behind the Harry Mac.
Back to the highlights, as mentioned above the gaps with the wing backs was Just beyond a joke, at one point one was jogging back! at times the way it was opened up it looked like a video game. We set up to try and win the game and at a canter with Blyth having no right to score, that attitude caused the scoreline.

Finally plucked up courage to watch the 'highlights'. I've never seen a worse performance from any Chester team in 40+ years. Worst goalkeeper I think we have ever had too. And why were the managers blaming everyone but themselves when they made no attempt to change a formation (if that shapeless pub team style can be called that) that wasn't working? Utterly shameful for all concerned. Match fixing has been mentioned, if I was the FA I would be looking closely at that as if it wasn't a betting scam at our expense it was a team that has no right to exist at any level along with pub team managers who clearly need a few millionaire and billionaire owners to be able to succeed beyond that.

Well I’ve just watched that after deciding I was prepared to Suffer the humiliation of it. Lot been said already on here. nothing coming from the players, club or management. There hasn’t even been an apology if I’m correct. Usually under these circumstances clubs rally around to assist those who have had considerable expense watching that. Be nice to hear of something being done. I fear that there is something to come out yet. Players silent, we were just better than evens to win that game. I wonder whose made money out of that shambolic display? I do hope I am wrong. It’s absolutely marvellous from fans irresponsibly nearly killing off the club. Resulting in us playing in a poor league getting absolutely spanked.

Pub team might be the right answer looking at that, team bonding and half cut lol

Actually a good point on the apology - fans who travelled to Cambridge to see us lose 3-0 in a Football League Trophy tie were given a refund by the way of a free ticket for the next home game after an apology from Keith Curle (what a top bloke and a proponent of some of the best football I've witnessed as a Chester fan).
Not saying we should be handing free tickets out but so far all we've heard is Jonno lambasting the players (and lambasting himself with one side comment, to be fair). That's as far as it's gone. Nobody has actually apologised publicly - should they?

Let’s hope this was just a one off freak result, which can happen sometimes. I remember a while back Norwich were in league 1 and they lost 7-1 at home on the opening day. They went on to win the league that season and win back to back promotions. So there’s hope yet.

I went to that Cambridge game, bitterly disappointing especially after Curle had been out in the locals saying he was going to take the LDV seriously, field a proper team etc only to see a starting XI including a debuting Rutherford along with jobbers Bertos, El Kholti, Dove and Curle in a much changed side from the usual league XI.

I’ve had enough of players over the last couple of seasons telling us we’ve “turned the corner” and are “desperate to put it right” and so on. It means nothing without actions.

I got sick of recycled articles from various players over the last couple of years, which were very rarely ever backed up in the following game. I imagine they wanted to do their talking on the pitch tonight, but obviously that opportunity has been denied now.

Ok I get those who make the point that an apology is nothing without actions. Thanks RIO for pointing out what was said by our joint manager. It has been hard work following us for some considerable time now. Many will have spent I imagine £50-£100 on the day out which is a lot of money watching football at our level. I know people go for the love of our club and god bless them. Again agreed actions speak loudest but it sounds like it was awful in comparison to the kiddie cup game and we were a shambles that afternoon. At this stage of the season something to try and keep the goodwill which had developed going would of been nice IMO. On to other matters this unfortunate issue at our ground is clearly that. Reading some comments on here well my goodness. I do hope things can be resolved quite quickly as I have a week off next week which makes it easier to attend.

I see from the chronicle article that we now have had an apology of sorts from AJ let’s hope he is able to deliver in his promises/words .
