Probably the single most embarrassing result in our history. Think we’ve just got to draw a line under it and move on. I can only assume the mentality wasn’t right and we’ve gone up there with a bit of a billy big bollocks attitude after the midweek win. If that’s the case then just as well we’ve seen our arses early on.

Never mind what Johno and bern are going to say. Who is holding them accountable? They put that shambles out there. Indeed . And I would rather see less of them on them social media, which looks very unprofessional and not a great image for the club; and concentrate on the job in hand - which hasn't been that great so far and the team formation clearly needs sorting out. It just seems they have been basking on last seasons glory, but unfortunately for them that has now ended in spectacular fashion . They are now paid employees at Chester FC and should not be delivering that sort of performance result. . Although I wasn't expecting miracles this season given he total rebuilding job , I was hoping the team would at least be competitive which we haven't been for the last two seasons.

Seem to recall losing 8-1 at Brighton when the yank was in charge. Smalley had a poor first half at Ashton but we scored against the run of play and in fairness he improved. Some serious head scratching after that performance. Don't remember that. Mad Terry was in charge when we won our only ever game at Brighton 3-2. We lost there 6-0 in 1975, when a GK called Craven played his only ever game for us.

Some serious head scratching after that performance. we only lost 7 1 to Brighton - although it was home ! It was significant though, as it contributed to us being relegated on goal difference .............

That cant be just a bad performance, a bad performance is losing 4 nil. To lose by that margin something must be up, they must have completely given up, and gone past caring. Has there been a dressing room fall out, or have they been on the ale ? Doesn't make sense to me.

Gary 'total liability' Roberts sent off once again. He needs sacking off. 5-0. Learning a lot about our squad this afternoon. Shut up you idiot He's clearly a good player when he's available but I would have thought even you could understand that two straight reds in the short time he's been with us is pretty abject. He's got away with a few other wild ones too. I know the damage was already done today but still...

Just seen Jonnos post match interview where, to be fair he doesnt even attempt at excuses and is clearly furious with certain players, although not naming them which is fair enough. He also acknowledged the damage that result would have done to the supporters in wiping away the optimism. Spoke well I thought - will be interesting to see if there is a reaction on Tuesday - God help us if there isn't.

After everything we’ve been through in the past couple of years I thought it would be a long time until we have days like today and feels like a massive kick in the balls.
The biggest defeat in my time of following the Blues and I’d only just recovered from that 7-1 Brighton defeat!
This will no doubt knock the attendance down for Tuesday and no doubt Kiddy will prove to be another tough test.
Apparently Johnson told some of the players to rip up their contracts after the game, be interesting to see if anything happens.

Oh for the days of McConville, who has got Accrington off the mark with 2 goals at Bristol Rovers. The same McConville that some clowns on here said was useless.

Apparently on the journey up there, the players were ordered to put away all their phones and electronic gadgets so they could bond together. That worked well.

According to someone 'close to the club' a number of players who played today have played their last game for the club.

Hard to tell what to make of this result, I have only watched the Spennymore match and defensively we looked ok with only a question mark over Howson who looked past it to me. Only one game to judge though.

It's how or if they correct things that will determine whether they are decent managers. They must also share the blame for this fiasco - it was they who signed these players and it is their tactics that have let us down.

Would you prefer he came out and spoke a load of tosh that we all know is nonsense a la McCarthy?

Quite where he gets the money to do that is another debate. He brought the players in, now he says some can go after one loss. No way to run a club IMO.

If managers think a couple of players are not at the standard required then they can be moved on elsewhere. Be interesting to see how we go on Tuesday night

They can be moved on if they wish, they can also stay put if they wish. The new club would have to offer a similar financial package, which would seem unlikely as they are leaving because their current manager publicly does not rate them. A contract works both ways, if the club want shut its pay them off, or transfer to another club on terms suitable to the player.

Would you prefer he came out and spoke a load of tosh that we all know is nonsense a la McCarthy? But I think that this is the point Billy was making . Messrs Burr and McCarthy, and to a lesser extent Bignot, were masters at talking a great game and giving inadequate excuses for utterly abysmal performances /results - although none as a bad as this . Surely this club cannot afford more of the same - despite the reputations of the duo. We can only hope and pray for significant improvement on Tuesday & Saturday.

I doubt contracts will be getting ripped up, more that it’s the managers sending a message that those performances are not acceptable. That result hurts tonight but thankful we have a game on Tuesday which gives them a chance to restore some pride. A draw, win and loss isn’t the worst start in the world, but considering some of the personalities in that team and the experience on the pitch then it’s certainly surprising. Can’t imagine that journey home is a barrel of laughs.....

Looked 'just about' a foul, everyone was pretty shocked a red came out. Will wait for the replay.

I have read that several players turned down better offers from elsewhere to join Chester.
